Some timber yards can be intimidating if you don’t know exactly what you want. Great service and friendly staff at Guildford. Good selection of materials in stock and they offer cutting service. Will be my preferred supplier for timber,

So nice to get friendly, helpful staff, with expert knowledge able to spend time making sure you get the best for your home projects. I'll be returning.

The quality of the timber supplied is the best you can get. I ordered some lengths greater than 3m, one batten 4.2m - all dead straight!

It's great to know there's a timber merchant you can trust these days.

When you combine their great service, quick delivery turnaround (only 1 day delivery time for me, which is free for a reasonably sized order, I think if its over £100), and with their prices which are better than any other merchants (T, J, or S) and with their timber quality that is absolutely the best available.

The quality definitely better or on par with 1 of the aforementioned, you'd be worse off going anywhere else!

Adam was BRILLIANT today.

Heads and shoulders above any other timber merchant in the area.

Constantly using Champion Timber online for personal use. Excellent delivery service, with frequent updates and tracking available. Great customer support and service and most importantly excellent quality products.
I have visited their site in Claygate too and was given professional advice and assistances.
Would highly recommend Champion!

Slow and glitching website. Call back feature is persistent and annoying to me as a user when finally requested. I was bombarded with messages that they will call me and that I need to be ready and that is about to happen but nobody called and nothing happened.
Then when the delivery was finally organised, I got a notification of the delivery time slot and T&C said that I will get a another warning of 30 minutes before the delivery. On the due day, I got a notification that they were coming a whole hour and a half earlier than informed earlier and immediately the notification of successful delivery. So, too early (I was not on site) and no post factum notification. When I got there, the items were wrong ones. Called depo and was told that 'it not possible' since they 'don't stock that item' or 'it could be an item for someone else'... So, you don't stock it or was it for someone else? 'It happens,' I was told and they were going to call me back. Almost an hour later, I've tired of waiting and seeing that my day was now wasted, I get into my van to drive home and Champion Timber truck arrives again to change the goods...
What a bloody mess!!!

Sun flares happen, earthquakes happen but deliveries DON'T 'happen" screwed up so badly if they weren't organised so bad to start with. Everything about Champion Timber screams that this is a old business that doesn't know how and doesn't use 'modern' technology but has paid for a poorly maintained website at some point to look up-to-speed and then left it there!

Having read other reviews, I think that I should also mention the branch responsible for the delivery: New Malden.

Follow up: my complaint has resulted in a service ticked being created and being told that someone will be in touch. That was the last I heard from Champion Timber (end of May now).

Adam at Champions New Malden is absolutely world class - he is professional / helpful and really cares. He has made my experience more than 10/10. Compared to some of the other businesses i have dealt with re a refurb - Adam has been incredible!

Violate statutory rights, denied guarantees and refused to provide a replacement. I visited its store twice to raise the issue, but rejected, then I sent two emails and made a few calls over past month to Chris Bergin, manager at New Malden branch, all ignored. I have to contact the Consumer Ombudsman and report to Trading Standards to file my complaint

Update: It is appalling to read Champion Timber response, what they said contradicts themselves and it doesn't make any sense. They claimed 'We requested some more info from you to be able to track your order however we did not receive a reply'. In fact, I have sent the invoice number at very first email to them, I never heard from them at all. Now Champion Timber claimed they responded, would they mind sharing it with me to prove? Now I share publicly, my order number is 17150370, I look forward your response if you do have customer service and determined to seek for an answer from them.

Have used them a few times and had positive feedback, today was no different. Delivery was 35 x 2.4m lengths delivered well within the time frame given, plus the guys read the delivery instructions which as usual resulted in a faultless delivery. Free delivery and quality wood. Plus really nice delivery guys. Win Win on all counts.. My Go to timber merchant as not only do they give a 90 min window but also trackable which makes it so much easier to take the dog out without worrying about missing a delivery.

Ordered a garden door and door furniture. Product as described. Delivered as scheduled and super helpful courier. He didn't just drop it curbside but carried it to the house. I'll order here again for wooden building material.

I had an order of over £1000 and they asked for £300 delivery fee. Outrageous! I went to Wickes and although I got slightly higher prices on items, it was nothing compared to the £300 delivery fee from these people.

selling unsafe product, I complaint and asked for total refund, which couldn't hear anything back. I purchased 10 can of everbuild expanding foam, 3 of them exploded , i was lucky as I weared goggles when open the package. I contact customer service, they asked me to sent email, then I didn't receive any refund/apologies/replacement, please avoid buying anything here, travis perkins is way much better

We were looking for a certain size and type of wood and had tried several online timber merchants it was to much trouble to cut the size we needed, emailed Bromley and Ben responded quickly, we went along as suggested and Ben discussed with us what we required, he was helpful informative and friendly very impressed, we left with exactly what we wanted, we will be back and will recommend to friends and family.

I went to Champion Timber New Malden today & am real happy to have been helped by a young chap named Archie . By showing him a sketch of what I needed to achieve with the cutting of MDF panels from which I’m making custom fit doors

He got it straight away & calculated what I needed from the least amount of MDF

NEW MALDEN BRANCH Today 17/2/24 10.50am. I’ve not been in this branch for quite awhile, as most of my friends go elsewhere.

I went into the office to order some cut ply. The sales assistant wasn’t very friendly and told me to go outside, and get it cut by the people outside. There wasn’t anyone outside so I walked around and then free guys came out of the office and looked at me and I said can you help me, and the cutting manager said if you don’t come here we’re not gonna come over there and then he carried on moaning, I didn’t understand the rest. Just petty and very very childish. So I said you don’t speak to a dog like that, and I walked out. when I uses to go to the New Malden branch awhile ago, you had to look for the cutters now they have a station how was I supposed to know that?

Perfect quality timber and MDF. Couldn't believe how perfect they were. Absolutely A* service too. Couldn't ask for any better. Time slot delivery and driver tracking was really appreciated. Really recommend Champion Timber.

Our order came in wrong size of timber. Company agreed to change it and also do the collection & delivery from our garage. This was agreed with Kevin (a manager) and reconfirmed a day before delivery. When the driver came today, he initially refused to do what was agreed. I had to plead him to do that, and do the lifting / shifting of timbers with him. He still did that with a complaining tone and words were "I am not your labourer." Getting a wrong item isnt our fault. And we took pain to put all that timber in our garage only to realise it wasnt the correct one. Hence, after the companyt happily agreed to help deliver it to garage - their driver wasnt happy to do it. Not something I was prepared for - leaving my toddler alone in the house only to help the driver without which he flatly refused to fulfil the order

I've always had a good service from these guys. They're definitely the place to go for timber!
