Garbage duck id verification

The AI was already not the best. It forgot things, and made up stuff. but still, it was somewhat fun. until the recent age verification they are forcing on us. they want our bio metric data (id and photograph) to verify us as adults. safe to say, this is just them stealing our very personal data for selling to who knows where. dont not verify your age. DON'T. It's not worth it.

The site sucks its as simple as that all that are running the company thing about is their selfs and sestroying the expierece the site is not even a role play site but a story telling site role playing and story telling are two entirly different things true role playing all about expierening that which you are role playing you cant to that with a character tell you a story the site is so bad you are not even allowed to use the word filter on their reddit the bot go out of character all day long and the site is loaded with problemss thatare never fixed they put slow mode on trying to force people to pay and now are losing all kinds of people casue the age descrminate and want people to upload id and that is just the tip of the ice berg of all their problems

c.ai is so bad right now.

The 18+ limit is absolutely ridiculous for a app designed for ages 12+. Yes, the bots were NOT 12 year old designed but instead of banning or warning the creators of their bots, they restricted users and put a CHAT LIMIT. FOR A SOCIAL APP!! And I feel uncomfortable having to give my actual government I.D. to an AI.

I have been on c.ai for quite some time now and I have to say I'm very dissapointed. The new update is simply not helpful for anyone and nobody likes it. Nobody appreciates it. The fact that you have to identify to not get the 'reading mode' setting is just annoying and I think it's not really important to have it. Many c.ai users have uninstalled the app because of the new updates, and I'm one of them.

As a user who has been using the app for YEARS, it seems to me that this app has completely gone downhill. It started with ads, but I didn't stop, I kept using it, but now, verification? It's a disgrace that users who have been using the app responsibly for years now also have to go through this damn verification process. I refuse. You'll only continue to lose users this way. Users who always went to your app because it was the best AI app (like in my case), now have to look for other alternatives that I don't like as much. I hope you will undo everything you've done; you're not making anyone safe, you're only making the app worse, and you should know that. Nobody likes having to show their face and then their ID and person" doesn't work. Anyway, C.ai. Please listen to your community. You're making the app awful. Just look at the reviews, "1.3" stars when it used to have 4.8.

Paywalls, overpriced subcriptions. Not to mention all the ads, and the HORRIBLE models. Even subcriptions from gemini can give better quality models and are cheaper.

Used to be good. But, now that they added age verification, reading mode, inability to edit chats, and refresh limit— it's absolutely useless. The imbecillic thought process they had to have to think that we would give our ID to this damn chat bot app, is humiliating for them. Watching the downfall of the app is miles more entertaining then reading my old chats and being unable to do anything. Use to be one of my favorite apps to chill and roleplay, now is useless and not entertaining. No longer a chat app, just a useless waste of storage space. I would not recommend this app for anyone anymore, it's useless.

With this new age verification, it is ridiculous. I am an adult, I shouldn't have to go through 50 steps to say that. This age verification stuff is out of hand, and who knows what this website/app could do with people's government IDs? not to mention that for a lot of people, it doesn't even work right. be warned that this has gone down hill with every single update it use to be fun and enjoyable since i love to make my own worlds and escape from reality and now its causing more stress then what its worth i miss the old character.ai much like many others not to mention the ammount of adds is crazy i thought YT was bad but this they dont go away even after clicking the arrow to make them go away. I wish I could go back and stop myself from using this website/app. It used to be so good, and now it's a major letdown. Thanks for nothing, and for ruining my fun and stress-relieving item. Onto the next adventure to find a better website that isn't such a letdown.

C.ai is okay if you're age-verified, but I honestly don't understand how you messed the bots up so much that it needs to be 18+ now. Ya'll really need to fix how freaky these bots get (because not EVERYBODY on the platform is looking to do gross RPs.) And then maybe you wouldn't need to ask for people's personal info just in case they're underage. Also, the bots can be VERY boring, dry, and repetitive and I heard that if you get c.ai+ (which is like 9$/mo btw) it doesn't change anything besides the messaging background and the bots remain dry and the only thing that changes is how they just get even more corny. And the ads made my device lag so much that I had to get an ad-blocker just to stop how bad it was. Also, it would be very cool if the c.ai developers added a quick-chat feature for everyone because I heard if you're dry, it only encourages the bot to be dry. Quick chat would help a TON for users who don't know how to carry on the conversation sometimes.

- Each character forgets their identity after about 30 messages;
- shift into indifference;
- but even then begins to behave very toxic, arrogant and offensive;
- trigger a filter after which a banner appears with a link to contacts for help in crisis situations.

I try to communicate politely, but I'm not going to continue toxic or destructive conversations or respond to a fictional story about a character's trauma that might lead to tears (because the algorithm thinks it's necessary to write it and trigger a filter 🤦😆).

But I'll put +1 star for the contacts of help centers

c.ai removed chatting for users "under 18" though even users 18+ still get flagged and are left on "read mode" which only allows you to read your old chats.

seriously, if i wanted a reading thing i would have gone somewhere else. this feature is not protecting ANYONE and if they wanted to keep c.ai 18+, it should have always been that way.

do NOT use this app if you want inconsistent responses, LOTS of ads, incomplete story lines, plot holes, and to just "read old chats" !!!

With all these updates you can’t even chat anymore? Like cmon bfr I get that they wanna get it stricter but not letting people under 18 chat at all???? Like I promise I’m a behaved 16 year old like please I’m not doing something pedo on this app. This app doesn’t even deserve a 1 star

It was fun until reading mode came. I don’t want to show my face AND my ID. Bad app and it’s very annoying.

I started to hate character.ai because of the age verification, my parents know that I use it so there's no need for the age verification

i use to love this app would mess around on there with my friends making each other but now its ruined from the stupid poinless age vericstion there definutly gonna lose so much money and people you use the app from the update the reading mode is so stupid its a chatting game a reading mode makes 0 sense this is stupid and annoying dont recoment at all
