Okay this might be a long one. The TL:DR is: if you want a VIP experience in Sri Lanka, talk to Gerard. For more detail read on.
I had always wanted to go to the Maldives for my honeymoon. My husband to be was not so excited about the idea of lounging on beaches and swimming, so we looked at two centre holidays. We found that one of the common places to add to Maldives was Sri-Lanka. We both love wildlife, so the idea of elephants, leopards, monkeys etc was very enticing.
We looked at a few travel agents and they didn't seem to offer a whole package deal with lots of different excursions, and they were expensive.
We eventually came across Charter and Gerard, who is the expert on the area, offered a fully planned out itinerary to get the most out of Sri Lanka, and a selection of Maldives hotels. This was fully flexible, so when we said we wanted to add in a river trip, or take out a temple, there was no issue whatsoever, and the price was better than anywhere else we had seen.
I was a little dubious as I had never heard of Charter, but when we arrived we were immediately picked up by our driver, who stayed with us for the entire time. He drove us around in an air conditioned vehicle and took us to a variety of places, where he showed good knowledge, explaining religious customs, history and wildlife. Each place we had private tours rather than a big group. Every hotel we stayed in was beautiful, a wide variety of food, great air conditioning, views and pools, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.
The Madu River Safari is one of the most beautiful sceneries I have ever experienced, and I highly recommend Yala, Udawalawa, Ella etc.
We then went onto the Maldives for a week and there are no words to describe how much of a paradise this is. Again a beautiful resort, great food, drinks, pools, watersports, views, beaches and staff who are out of this world.
I believe Charter have experts in all areas of the world so I will definitely be looking to them in future for holidays.

Ok, this is purely about the booking experience.
Next year we have two big birthdays (70) and near enough 50 years married so we wanted a special holiday, I’ll be honest and say we did look elsewhere first as I wanted to chat to a travel agent and get their advice.
The holiday is to be in Hawaii, the reason we decided on Charter holidays over the others wasn’t about price it was about Linda, oh my this lady knows her stuff, we explained what we wanted and she put together a great package ……..she advised us on dates we should look at for whale watching and visits she thought we would like on a twin island break.
She advised on the twin island idea , the use of a hire car and the upgrade to premium for the flight.
She advised on the local charges at the hotels ….
Basically went over and above to cover all aspects of this dream trip.
Linda explained fully about the booking process….if the holiday goes as well as the booking process we are onto a winner.

I had never used charter travel before so was sceptical when i found the exact holiday £4000 cheaper with them but i checked the reviews checked certificates and all seemed good so we went ahead and booked. Luke our travel agent was super helpful every step of the way he answered any questions that came up super quickly and was always really responsive adding things or helping me in any way.
We have just got back from our holiday and everything ran super smooth there was absolutely no hiccups. luke had booked three hotels, flights, seats, park tickets, car hire everything we needed for our florida holiday and everything was fabulous. I cant thank you enough

We are booking a family holiday to Florida for 2027 and have thus far received top notch service from CharterTravel.
Andy listened to our requirements then provided a number of options for us to choose. Flight, villa and car hire all sorted.
There has since been an issue with the villa which was addressed quickly and an upgrade provided.
Now just looking forward to our holiday next year.

I'm not sure if I'm submitting this twice? I was a bit wary at first of sorting out a holiday by email but it went very smoothly and Linda was helpful in sorting out a fantastic trip to San Diego and Waikiki. One little glitch with the hotel was quickly resolved. The pricing in good quality hotels and long haul premium economy flight was very competitive. It was a very enjoyable trip.

Amazing experience, a dream I had which was made a reality by Linda. 3 options of packages to choose depending on our budget so nothing felt forced. We travelled to San Fran where Linda gave us lots of recommendations one of them being a restaurant that we loved. Then onto LA and ending in Vegas. Everything was perfect and not need to contact Linda once we had set off. Recommended by a friend and we have now been doing the same- thanks Linda for helping us celebrate my 40th with memories to last forever

I have used Charter travel for over 10 years including a holiday to Florida, and annual holidays to Tenerife, Spain and Portugal. Claire especially, and all the other staff have been outstanding in their handling, knowledge and help of all our bookings. They are a small local travel agents and I certainly would not use any other for any future travel and would highly recommend them.
