Slightly alarmed to see so many negative reviews here. I've been using Chatbase for around a month, and so far have experienced no obvious issues. I had a lot of fun asking ChatGPT to help me train my new chat agent, a process I'd recommend to anybody without the confidence to do this on their own. It integrates well with my WP website. The friends I've asked to test it, by interacting with my new chat agent, have reported good and accurate responses. I have noticed it's impossible to get a human response when needing support (they rely 100% on their own system for this) which is the reason for 4* rather than 5*.

Chatbase is a full blown scam! There are entire slack groups set up to warn people of this company and its CEO. Do not deal with these people!! They scam people out of links.

I had a very disappointing experience with Chatbase. Despite canceling my subscription and receiving confirmation, they continued to charge my card without consent. Reaching out to support was useless — no clear answers, no refunds, just automated responses. This feels like a deliberate tactic to trap users into ongoing payments.
Their billing practices are unclear at best, and fraudulent at worst. I would strongly caution others against using the platform, especially if you’re expecting professional and transparent customer service.
Extremely disappointing experience with Chatbase. Where do I even begin? The platform has been nothing but trouble since day one.
The most frustrating issue is the constant breaks and errors in production. You spend time setting everything up, and just when you need it most, the system crashes or returns nonsensical errors. This has happened multiple times, causing significant disruption to our operations.
Their customer support is abysmal. Response times are painfully slow - we often had to wait days for replies to urgent issues. Even worse, when they finally respond, their support team seems completely unable to understand the basic problems we're experiencing. It feels like talking to monkeys.
The platform's reliability is a serious concern. We've experienced:
- Random disconnections
- API failures
- Incorrect responses
- System timeouts
- Integration issues
The cost-to-value ratio is terrible considering how often things break down. We've wasted countless hours trying to get things working properly, only to face more issues.
Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. There are much better alternatives available in the market. Would not recommend Chatbase to anyone looking for a reliable chatbot solution.
Extremely basic chatbot that doesn't integrate well with techstack. No satisfaction guarantee or free trial. After testing it out for 2 days, I asked for a refund I was told they don't offer any so I went to cancel my subscription, but the only way to do it was by deleting my account. So essentially paid for a full month and got 2 days' use. Sure they offered me to reopen a new account, but I didn't want to do that.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I am outstandingly disappointed in Chatbase.co. Before purchasing their service, I specifically asked their chatbot if I could speak to a real person, since my website and use case are very specific. I was told their bot could answer everything. I explained my concerns and made it crystal clear that I needed confirmation this would work for my situation. The bot confidently assured me, “No problem, our product will fit your needs.”
Still skeptical, I asked about refunds. The bot stated they don’t normally offer them. So I clarified, even if the product doesn’t help me at all and I don’t use it? The bot then said in that case, I could contact support and they could help me — which, like any reasonable person, I took to mean that a refund could be possible under those circumstances.
So I bought it.
Ten minutes. Ten minutes later, I realized it absolutely does not do what I need. As I suspected. I contacted support immediately asking for a refund — and was flat-out denied. I was out $150 for something completely useless to me, and all based on misleading pre-sale information.
This feels like a straight-up scam. Their chatbot overpromises, they underdeliver, and then they hide behind “policy” to keep your money. The worst kind of bait-and-switch. No accountability. No flexibility. No respect for customers.
If you're thinking about using Chatbase.co — don’t. Save your money. There are better, more transparent companies out there. I feel completely ripped off.
It's funny that this is a customer support platform and they don't reply to any support inquiries, I signed up and sent them an email to get some resources to get started, it has been 3-4 days and I still didn't get a reply. I cancelled my subscription
Setup and billing is a bit weird and I found it difficult to understand, at first - I just couldn't wrap my head around the billing, and the admin dashboard.
Over time though (been using chatbase for about 9 months) I've become really impressed with the actual platform itself.
Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been quite disappointing. I requested a refund because the service did not meet my expectations, but I was informed that subscription payments are non-refundable, even though I hadn’t fully used the service. This policy wasn’t made clear at the time of purchase, and I feel it’s unfair.
Additionally, customer service was not helpful and showed no flexibility in resolving the issue. I expected more from a company that claims to be committed to customer satisfaction. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone looking for flexibility or good customer treatment in situations like this.
