I really enjoyed my placement at Chatterbug Speech and Language Therapy and found it to be a very positive and confidence-building experience. Before starting the placement, I felt very nervous because I had not had much experience working with speech sounds. However, over the course of the placement I became much more confident, particularly when working on speech sound therapy.

One of the best part of the placement for me was working in the primary school. This was the part I was most worried about before starting, due to not feeling confident with speech sounds, however i ended up enjoying this the most. I found working with Hannah really valuable because she is an NQP, she was able to put herself in my position. She gave excellent on-the-spot feedback after sessions as well as clear written feedback afterwards, which I found extremely helpful. She was also very good at explaining things in a way that made them easier to understand, which helped me feel more confident as the placement went on.

I also really enjoyed the days I spent at the specialist college with Jaimisha. This was a setting I already knew I enjoyed working in, and it was great to gain more experience there while also developing my skills further. Jaimisha also gave me valuable on the spot and written Feedback after my sessions.

Another positive aspect of the placement was the variety. I had face-to-face days, at school and specialist college day, and virtual days, which helped break the week up well and kept the placement interesting. Overall, this placement has really helped me feel more confident working with speech sounds and has been one of the most enjoyable and supportive placements I have had.

Maya has been incredible! She has worked with a highly trained group of staff in a coaching model and has brought some great new ideas to the table - going away to research, listening to experiences, purposeful observations and incredibly thorough and useful reports.
She has worked with pupil and staff well and has been so flexible and accommodating. She has absolutely become a valued member of the team already!
The new sharing system has been great - easy to use, clear and reliable!

Jo was really friendly and encouraging. She gave us the opportunity to plan and carry out therapy sessions. We also had the opportunity to write SOAP notes, ask questions and get involved. She gave us feedback and was overall really helpful. Thank you Jo!

I was on placement with Joanna Williams and she was really friendly. She let me plan and run sessions and supported me when I needed help. She created great relationships with the children we saw and was overall a very friendly persons

The lovely people at chatterbug made me feel welcome, especially Joanna who I shadowed. She gave me opportunities to not only observe a wide range of therapy sessions but also to have a go at delivering some sessions myself, whilst overseeing and supporting me. I received valuable feedback on the sessions that I delivered and I will make sure that I use this experience in my future role as a speech and language therapist. Thank you, for all the opportunities that I was given during my short time here.

Chatterbug have provided screening and in school support for children. Children have made excellent progress. We have been able to develop staff expertise in Makaton, EAL and vocabulary groups.

I have worked with chatter bug for two years. This year I was lucky enough to have Olivia B as my classes' speech and Language therapist. She was absolutely incredible! She took time to get to know each of the children in the class and implement interventions for each of them, showing staff in the class the best way to encourage communication from the children (something which has lacked in the past). Olivia went above and beyond, she took time to meet and call parents and make visuals and stories to support the students outside of school. Thank you! S :)

Caitlin is a brilliant Speech and Language therapist. She has worked alongside the school to ensure the pupils needs are being met. She has a fantastic relationship with the children in the school along with the staff and the parents. She is well respected by everyone in school and always goes above and beyond to ensure the needs of the children are met.
Caitlin sends through the reports in a timely manner and this ensures the programmes can begin straight away. Caitlin ensures staff know how to deliver the programmes and reviews them when needed.
Nothing is too much trouble for Caitlin and consequently the children she works with are making brilliant progress.

I only have positive comments to make about Chatterbug. The lady we have worked with this year has been Maya. Her approach towards our vulnerable students has been excellent and she has been very flexible and patient when things have changed at the last minute for reasons out of our control. I look forward to continuing working with Chatterbug in the future.

We have been working with Jo and Subia this year. They are both really responsive and flexible to meeting the specific needs of our school, thank you

Louise Camp has been our SaL therapist for the last few months and she’s been great. She came up with a program to help with my 3 year old daughter’s speech and language which has led to visible improvements. Her method is structured so it’s easy for me to replicate what she does at home as well which has gone a long way in aiding consistency. She is warm and friendly and my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, with her being very excited whenever we come in. Louise has also been positively reactive and flexible, moving things around at a moment’s notice to whatever would best benefit my daughter during that time. Shruti, the office administrator is also very pleasant and always has a warm smile whenever we come in.

Chatterbug provide a wonderful service to support our secondary students with speech, language, communication and interaction barriers. Humaira, our assigned SaLT has been proactive, diligent and very responsive in meeting the needs of our students and she has offered fantastic support to our colleagues who are delivering SaLT based therapy programmes.

Our new Speech and Language therapist, Sam Hughes, is brilliant; everything a professional coming into a school should be. He listens to our thoughts about problems that children have, acknowledging our experience and previous work done with children. He observes children and works with them, giving us his professional opinion and relevant work to do with them. He has referred complex issues back to his team to discuss ways in which, we, as a school might proceed to get the best outcome for the child. He is open, friendly, knowledgeable and above all, he's passionate about his job. He's made our school's ability to really help our children with S&L needs 100% better .

Our school is fortunate to have the lovely Olivia Bangham, as our speech and language therapist.

Olivia is extremely knowledgeable and is always available to answer and support with any questions/queries. She has supported and trained us, to deliver the most efficient interventions for our SEN children. Her reports are always thorough and accurate of the child. Olivia's ability to work across year groups and with different teams is a strength not everyone has.

Katy Ellis, our Chatterbugs speech and language therapist has worked with us, in our large primary school for just over a year. She is highly competent and knowledgeable. She advises staff on how best to support the children with their SLCN and also completes high quality assessments and reports. Jaimisha Parmar, from Chatterbug, has been working with our school for several years. Jaimisha communication with myself, other staff within my setting and parents has been exemplary. Assessments on pupils have been quick and thorough. Jaimisha has delivered fun and tailored sessions to groups as well as individual pupils with clear progress made.
