The worst company ever and I am sure it’s owned by someone who is related and approved how those so called little side hustles who grow bigger and bigger to screw up the life of people . One mistake 7 years ago and it still showing up . You can not work in any of those because of their trashy app . No free will no second chance just pure scammers . This company and the people it works for should be banned and charged with criminal charges since they are stealing peoples hard work and tips .

The company is discriminatory and does not follow the law. I highly recommend that you find a more honest business to work with. Pulling multiple reports using this service yielded different results, while only changing my email address. When confronted about this no description as to why pulling the same report on the same person yielded different results. No other way to put it but this company is a fraud.

How this company still operates, I have no idea. Checkr almost cost me my new job. They claimed I didn't have the right to work in country I was born in and lived in my entire life.

Fortunately for me this isn't the first time my new company have had issues with Checkr so they understood.

Checkr started my work background checks 8 weeks ago and they're still not completed.

Do your best to avoid this company at all costs!!!

Horrible company, not only does it take forever. It is very inaccurate. This platform should be stripped. This is what American business is like nowadays

Atrocious amount of time to complete background checks. Every other company I have worked for has taken at most a few days to complete a criminal background check. It has been 5 weeks since Checkr initiated a criminal records pull on me and it is still not complete. They say the delay is because an online court database is down at a county I lived in 20 years ago as minor. I called the county and they explained Checkr could still call them to get an internal records pull done to confirm I have zero criminal history. They are refusing to pick up the phone and get the job done. They are not a real background check company they are an "AI" software company that doesn't actually conduct real investigations. An old boomer background check company with a landline phone, fax and someone willing to dial numbers can do a check faster than Checkr.

Update: 2.5 months later and they still have not completed the job. On further investigation an employee at Checkr confirmed during their most recent layoffs earlier in 2024 they laid off their entire US based support/operations/investigations/QA teams with cheap labor in the Philippines. Not even considering the data security issues with providing overseas contractors access to your PII, this confirms Checkr lacks the capability to manually complete investigations that require in person visits to courthouses (or phone calls/manual completion). Furthermore they do not have the capacity to actually do anything with customer service requests unless a legal request is received by their in-house counsel.

Checkr recently performed a background check and it came back clear. However the company I applied said that my check did not come back clear. I asked for a copy of the report, checkr said they could not disclose what they sent to my company and refused to allow me to dispute the supposed findings. I did get it straightened out with my company and had told checkr that it was resolved. Now checkr has taken it upon themselves to email me a letter saying they would reach out to my employer and have me terminated. Keep in mind everything to checkr is in writing so I have not said anything that would give them any reason to do this other than asking for a copy of my background report so I could dispute any adverse findings. I contacted them by chat and had them inform me that I supposedly requested them to do this but when asked to be sent a copy of this email they referred me to my original email asking for a copy of my report. The agent obviously lacked basic English comprehension as the line he claimed in the email had nothing to do with what he claimed. Also there was nothing foul in the email, it was completely professional. This company should not be allowed to perform background checks as their agents all seem to lack the ability to read. Even after the check is done they still claim the right to harass your employer and you even when the only issue is them not being able to read.

Ran this and paid for myself. I have not been able to view actual results. Whats the deal?? Getting run around and was told the company that ordered it I have never heard of. Ripoff.

Worthless company . They are sooo bad on goggle they removed there ratings.. and corporations still use this trash company... sad

This company marked my drivers license as expired. It expires in 2028. That is 4 years from now. If you finally get to speak with someone they push the blame on the company doing the check. I checked the DMV and my license is current. Last month I had one completed and it was clear with the same license exp date of 2028. They don't help, they say there is no one that marked it wrong, but someone did. This did not come from the DMV so Checkr did it and reported it to Uber. Now I can't drive to pay my bills.

I submitted a background check on May 8th. It is now June 21st, and my well-being is in jeopardy as a result of CHECKR! I inquired several times about my background check, only to be lied to and told that they were waiting for Georgia, Fulton County, which I haven’t lived in for 15 years!

It was only then that I reached out to my employer because my anxiety levels were through the roof! They told me they were waiting on Michigan. The staff never told me they were waiting on Michigan! They never once apologized for the misunderstanding or acknowledged that a mistake was made. Before I found out they were waiting on Michigan, I started to reach out to counties in Georgia to verify, and they had no idea what I was talking about. It gets worse!

After learning we were waiting on Michigan, I was still puzzled because I haven’t lived there in over 8 years! The background check only goes up to seven years, so I’m convinced that Checkr purposely did this to wreak havoc on my life! The tools they are using are not good for business and are bad practices! As a result, my bills are behind, and my sense of well-being is in turmoil! Meanwhile, they get to go home just fine. This has left a dismal impact on my sense of security overall. I can’t express how robbed of joy I feel. My anxiety is through the roof, and I am left under an exponential amount of stress.

They keep running me around in circles and not providing clear and concise answers! They continue to provide false ETAs every step of the way. At this point, I can’t stomach another ETA because I know it’s not true. It’s like a never-ending cycle! I don’t have any confidence, faith, or trust in any ETA provided. This has been the worst experience of a lifetime! I hope to never experience this again! This was the experience from hell, and I can’t express this enough!

They won’t give me any answers on why they are preventing me from working on DoorDash that company is a joke and should be illegal

AI is used for employment verification and most criminal searches. There are often errors but the dispute and CS team are so incompetent, they rarely get fixed.

Their biggest client Uber is working with other vendors because Checkr keeps f’ing up.

The CEO is obsessed with going public. So much so that he laid off 32% of the staff and relegated every department to a skeleton crew. As bad as it was before, it is much MUCH worse now.

First Advantage or Sterling are their competitors.

First, it took 3 months to get my background check. My application expired. Then they flagged me as being on a sex offender registry, even though the person only has a similar name as mine. They are a different race, different birthdate, and different year. Obviously, I'm not very happy about losing a job opportunity because of this invalid information.

False checks and useless customer service. We've several times given the feedback that the employment verification attempts are not true. They state it's an external provider that performs them, but do not seem interested at all to try and fix it.

Checkr is the most horrible website Ive ever used and customer support isnt helpful at all.

Scam. Paid $29.99 for a background check that advertised it would show previous employers and dates of employment. It didn't and when I tried to reach customer service they refused to do anything about it and stonewalled. Don't give them your money. They will not refund you. I put a stop on the transaction in my online banking.

Multiple background checks with Checkr but all show something different! What a waste of time and money! There is NO customer service besides an automated chat bot that is USELESS! DO NOT USE CHECKR!!! Save yourself the time, hassle, and money and use an actually reputable company that has human customer service IF you want accurate information in a timely manner and ANY customer service at all!

Absolutely USELESS customer support. You have to communicate via email, and it's obvious the people on the other end have no idea what you're talking about about. I'm guessing they outsource their support agents.

Horrible customer service. Bad ui cut off my dispute unfinished. No one to talk to. Chat doesn't answer questions. They shut down chat. Force you to email. They have no phone number. Will press charges if not resolved.

Our company was quoted $29.99 for basic background checks which was fine for us as we just need the "basic". The background check info came back ok & we had not issue with that part. BUT, upon receiving our first monthly invoice for several background checks that we ordered, we find that we were charged more than $29.99. We were charged $29.99 for each of the (4) background checks + $15 for 3 of them that say "county level verification" & another $5 for the other one that says "Los Angeles - CA county fee". When I reached out to Checkr, their response was "We did not upcharge you for this. We pass that charge to the customer and if you were not notified this beforehand by the account rep I do apologize." Don't see fair if we were quoted $29.99.
