I am honestly so disappointed with these NERO black cheer shoes.
The description says they are “Trialed and tested to go the distance” — unfortunately, the distance for us seems to be just 14 weeks.
My daughter wears these shoes twice a week for 1.5 hours each time, so around 3 hours a week. They have been worn indoors only and she has only worn them for one competition. After just 14 weeks, the sole has started coming away from the shoe.
I contacted the owner about this and was told it is “consistent with normal wear and use” and that, as a “gesture of goodwill”, they would offer me another pair at a discounted price of $90. I was also told to try Shoe Goo.
I honestly find this ridiculous. I paid $150 including shipping for these shoes, and I don't think having the sole come away after 14 weeks of light indoor use is acceptable quality for that price.
Unfortunately, the customer service has also been really disappointing. I expected the company to stand behind a product advertised as “trialed and tested to go the distance”, especially given how little use the shoes have actually had. Instead, I was essentially told this was normal wear and that I should repair them myself with Shoe Goo or buy another pair at a discounted price.
What disappoints me most is that the owner herself seems to consider this acceptable wear and tear. If this is the expected lifespan of the shoes, customers should be made aware that they may need replacing every few months.
I wouldn't purchase these again and, based on our experience, I would recommend looking at other companies
