We started ChessCubs because we believe kids learn chess best from a real coach, in a small group, with friends their own age. Our groups never have more than six children, so every child gets to play, ask questions and be noticed in every class. Kids aged 6 to 15 join live from home, twice a week for 45 minutes. It costs $59 a month. Our founder, Vishnu Prasad, has taught children chess for over eighteen years, and for most of those years we never ran an ad. Parents simply told other parents. What he learned is now our curriculum: seven levels and one hundred small steps, each teaching one new idea. Chess gives children more than the game. They learn to sit with a hard problem instead of giving up, to lose without falling apart and to win without showing off. Most of all, they learn to stop and think before a big move, a habit that matters just as much off the board. Parents often tell us their child has become more confident, more patient and more willing to try hard things. We are not trying to turn every child into a grandmaster. Whatever path a child chooses in life, we believe the habits chess builds will help them along the way, and we see it happening in our classes every day. For the children who fall in love with competitive chess, we help them go as far as they want to go. Our coaches are FIDE or USCF rated, but we look just as hard for warmth and patience, because a good coach makes a tough problem feel like an adventure, not a test. If your child loves the game, or you think they might, book a free trial class at chesscubs.com.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Vishnu at ChessCubs! He is an excellent chess coach who is patient, knowledgeable, and truly cares about his students’ progress.
What I appreciate most about Vishnu is that he takes the time to understand each student’s learning ability and adjusts his teaching style and pace accordingly.
Since my son started learning with Vishnu, we have noticed a significant improvement in his chess skills and overall understanding of the game. His teaching has made a real difference, and my son continues to learn and grow under his guidance.

Biju for my son Nandith
Shray enjoys his chess lessons with Vishnu Sir. He strikes the right balance of letting the child think on their own and jump in when they need support. I recommend chesscubs to parents.
