ChessKidsNation is an international chess coaching establishment, staffed by trained and renowned Chess Coaches, working for the benefit of chess community to promote chess across the world. About ChessKidsNation When he was 16 years old, ChessKidsNation founder Balagee Govindan was taught how to play chess from his uncle and began making his own chess boards. His love for the game grew over the years and stayed strong as he moved across the world to become a resident of Hoover, Alabama. In 2005, when his family wasn’t able to make their annual trip to India, he sat down with his 6-year-old son and taught him how to play chess. His son, Vikhram, fell in love with the game the same way his father had, and the father-son duo began traveling to competitions around the USA, winning awards and championships in chess tournaments. Over time, local friends began to ask Balagee to teach their children chess as well, and what started as a father-son bonding activity became a blossoming chess community program. In 2006, ChessKidsNation was born, with Balagee dedicated to coaching kids and seniors of all skill levels how to play a game of analytical skill, creativity, and strategy.
