Order did not arrive, intimidating & unprofessional. AVOID
I made an order on the evening of 04/01.
The order did not arrive that evening and the customer service number closed at 10pm with no other way to contact anyone regarding the order. The order was supposed to arrive in 60 minutes of order time.
I called the helpline just after 8am the next morning (05/01/2024) to check on the order as I found that was charged the full amount plus delivery. I was told by an operator that there were technical difficulties with the store. I was told I'd recieve order that day, then I was told that I wouldn't. She cancelled the order and I was assured twice that I would be issued a refund. I asked the operator again if the order would arrive and she said that it would not and I should place an order elsewhere. I haven't recieved refund yet or any notification of this cancellation.
This was already a huge inconvenience for me, a single mum with disability and hungry children.
Later that day as I was out I received 8 missed calls from an unknown (unknown to me) mobile number, who left no voicemail. Then a barrage of text messages simply saying 'I'm here' then '?????' and 'hellloooooo????'.
I did not know who this could be and felt afraid, but tried to call back sensing the urgency. There was no response.
I eventually looked at the Chop Chop app as I could not think who else would be turning up at my door with such urgency. The app said that my order, which had been cancelled that morning, was out for delivery so I understood that this urgent caller must have been a courier. I did not receive any notification about the order being despatched on the app, email or by text. I messaged the courier back saying that this order had been cancelled. They did not message back at all or even say who they were in the first place. The urgency and the language used frightened me. Again, I am a vulnerable adult with two children. I would never answer the door with communication like that even if I was awaiting the order. It felt very unsafe and was incredibly unprofessional.
It has been a very stressful ordeal, first being let down with the order on 04/01, the conversation with the phone operator who did not know what was happening on 05/01 and the intimidating barrage of calls and texts later that afternoon.
I have left reviews of the app stating what has taken place to help other vulnerable adults to avoid stressful and potentially damaging exchanges. (For example if I had been at home and could not answer the door I would have felt afraid, not knowing who was ringing again and again).
This is hugely disappointing from Sainburys. They've lost a loyal customer and my community will def hear about this. Do not use!!!!!
never turned up but tracking says delivered!
I really wish there was a zero, or even better minus, star option!
My order came up on the tracking as delivered (20 minutes later than promised) but it never actually arrived! When i called customer service, they said the driver tried to deliver and no one was home. Doorbell never rang. I had a baby in the bath in fact and no nappies, reason for my order. Customer service also said they couldn’t redeliver because it had already been attempted and they couldnt send a driver out again. When i protested he said it was between me and the driver!
I had to call Zapp. Baby was now out of the bath and still no nappies. I’m gonna stick to that even if more expensive from now on.
Meanwhile, the money has gone out and yet not be refunded for an order i never received.
I asked where to send a complaint and asked the guy to send me an email or message as i was in loudspeaker and dealing with the baby, plus i couldnt understand clearly. I was told to go on the website if i couldnt write down. Honestly i couldn’t have had a worse experience.
Awful customer service
Similar to other reviews I have had orders not turn up and the customer service when try to resolve this issue is awful.
