I've completed 1 semester and I'm half way through my second semester with Citizen's cafe and I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend to anyone looking to learn conversational Hebrew. The teachers are amazing, they make class fun and casual ensuring students feel comfortable to speak and make mistakes, and I feel that they truly care about your development. My Hebrew has drastically improved already and I'm looking forward to learning more in the classes.

I love Citizen Cafe and all the instructors I've encountered so far. They are fun, detailed, honest with the aim of helping us and not just passing us forward, even when it is a harder discussion. My instructors, Yasmin & Gilad, managed the structure, our questions, were always encouraging for any question, found the answers later if needed. Light-spirited and encouraging, yet precise with the phrases and pronunciation even if we had to repeat 2-3 times... Even with 90 min of repetition it felt fun and playful.

I love Citizen Cafe and the course material. I love the website with the flashcards and the Practice to Go. My weakness is hearing spoken Hebrew, and the Practice to Go is very challenging to me, but it is wonderful and plentiful, (compared to another ulpan and to other courses I've taken. It's right there, I don't have to search for resources. I haven't attended the Live Practice sessions; i've been so busy, but will put them on my schedule in the break between this course and my next course. They are also great for speaking and listening, my weakness.

I love Citizen Cafe and the structure. Even if I can't do the flashcards due to being too busy, the class itself, the repetition of short phrases, is perfect for my learning. In the other ulpan, The instructor could speak for 15 minutes about something that she did, and we would listen mutely... That is good for some, but not for me.

Constructive Criticism: The only thing i don't like is the primitive way of sorting the flashcards. It doesn't invite me to come back to study them, because I always have to start at card 1, even if i'm at lesson 11. I wish they were per lesson as the Practice to Go is, and then all together... or that I could mix them randomly. Or I could start at a point; and hide the ones I already know... that would be best. There must be some more advanced technology for flashcards. I hate it lol. (Though the flashcards themselves are fantastic, with the written and audio. And the audio in different people's voices.) - Etana in Florida!

more integration of whatever is on Spotify so we remember about them; I forgot all about the podcasts. More at our level of Blue, or easier... so it's not challenging, but rather easy and I can feel, "oh I understood 90% of that" ... so more easy podcasts.

I have been studying Hebrew with Citizen Cafe for more than two years. I’ve had an amazing experience with the teachers and with fellow students. I was worried that I would be too old to learn, but they make learning fun! I am more fluent now than I was 50 years ago when I lived in Israel. Now, when I travel to Israel, I am comfortable with the language. I have appreciation and gratitude for the quality of the teaching and the sense of community that I have found there.

I had a wonderful experience with Citizen Café online. I found the experience focused and challenging.. Saar my “guide” was patient but also rigorous…the best part was his smile…which kept the class relaxed. For me “class” became family; I heard stories I never expected to hear…the real time “ping pong” of phrases helped me to nurture a more natural and flowing stream of speaking. I strongly recommend this course of study!

I was hesitant to sign up as I wasn't sure I would enjoy a zoom format. I am now in my second semester, and I look forward to every single class and practice group. The teachers are ALL incredible, and I have really enjoyed getting to know my classmates.

The best language program I was ever part of and I was at least part of half a dozen other language programs throughout my life.

I’ve been taking classes on and off for 5 years. Every teacher has been great, the methods are creative, successful, and fun, The other students inspire you to improve. The extras like practice sessions, presentations, videos, etc give plenty of room to expand on learning Hebrew but also about life in Israel.The school encourages feedback because they are always trying to improve and build.

I truly love Citizens Cafe lessons and the teachers. CC offer variety of classes based on any level of knowledge. The schedule is very convenient for different time zones. The teachers are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and engaging. The material is well presented and appropriate for particular class and level of knowledge. The lessons are conducted in pleasant, comfortable and encouraging atmosphere.

So I’ve kinda fumbled my way through 4 different ulpanim - never gaining confidence to speak.
I decided to make the plunge and invest in Citizen Cafe. Wow!!! I’m learning! I’m speaking! I’m understanding!!! And it’s actually fun!!!
The class content is great- all so practical for getting through daily life in Israel. The teachers make it interesting, fun and relevant.
It’s a completely different approach to learning the language. We actually learn to feel it; to hear it; to repeat over and over; to experience moving our mouth, lips and tongue in a new way to actually speak the language. No notes. No grammar rules. Not boring.
They use songs, television, movies, real life experiences and then we get to just talk. Conversationally. And are encouraged to make friends in the class. Brilliant!!!!!
I’m learning. My only drawback is I wish I knew the platform to ask questions when I get confused. The supplemental- flash cards, recordings, games are also a tremendous help.
Plus the newsletters, extra (fun) classes and seminars. Couldn’t be more engaging!!!

I’m half way through my first semester and have already signed up for the second. I have tried various Hebrew courses in the past but nothing inspired me. Citizen Cafe firstly has a great method of teaching, it’s relevant, it’s fun, it’s supportive and I feel real progress already. I would fully recommend!

Perfect way for learning quickly practical Hebrew including slang. Teachers are nice, professional and mostly full of humor, which makes the lessons a real joy. Also a lot of tools in your account for supporting you in your Hebrew journey. Highly recommended!

Absolutely the best online program I’ve tried. Actually effective classes, interesting curriculum, charismatic teachers.

I cannot fault this method of learning to speak ivrit. Conversation from first lesson as well as reading and writing. As a rather mature student the patience their teachers have is second to none always encouraging. They really are inspirational. 100% recommend Citizen Cafe no matter what your level of the language is

In my second year now, Citizen Cafe is an excellent source and teaching method for learning Hebrew! I've tried various "programs" over the years but Citizen easily tops them all! Excellent method but maybe even more importantly EXCELLENT TEACHERS who really care. Thank you Citizen Cafe 🙏 ❤️
