Citizen Nomad Stays Is A Predatory Company

My stay at Citizen Nomad in Dallas, was one of the most unsafe and unacceptable experiences I have ever had with a short term rental.

The moment I arrived on Nov 2, I discovered the property had zero functional window locks.
Not one.
The front windows didn’t close, didn’t latch, and didn’t lock—meaning anyone from the street could walk up and enter the home at will.

Thinking the upstairs might be safer, I went to the bedroom only to find the window wide open, with a duct-taped AC unit loosely sitting on the sill. No screws. No lock. No security whatsoever.
In a city where burglary rates are nearly double the national average, this is outrageous negligence.

At 9:00 AM, I informed the host I felt unsafe. Instead of acknowledging the clear hazards, she responded with an easily disprovable lie:

“Our AC units are permanently installed with screws from the inside.”

This is false, and I have video and photos proving it.
Rather than address the danger, she dismissed my concerns and then filed a retaliatory financial claim—a move that looks more like an attempt to avoid responsibility than to protect guests.

Based on her behavior, it is my personal opinion that her indifference to basic safety raises serious concerns about what is happening at this property and whether she is enabling an environment where criminal activity can occur unchecked.
