Landlord Experience
CItylets is a super online letting portal for landlords and tenants alike. Responses from potential tenants to posted property adverts is high. Usually I generate sufficient interest from prospective tenants from a posted advert and I am able to re-let properties quickly.
Citylets staff respond quickly to any emailed inquiry and are always helpful.
Landlord who does not use an agent
As a landlord who directly manages my own rental properties in Scotland, Citylets is my "go to" website to attract quality tenants in Edinburgh and West Lothian.
Great Platform for Finding Tenants
I always use Citylets as it’s quick and easy to navigate as a landlord. I’ve consistently found good quality tenants through the site, and they’ve tended to stay for a good length of time, which makes the whole process stress-free.

Always get a lot of enquiries when properties are advertised, especially in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Awful
Awful, unprofessional money grabbers AVOID.
Terrible communication through our tenancy, ignoring serous maintenance requests that eventually lead to a collapsed ceiling and horrific black mould. On move out they took a significant portion of our deposit with no room for negotiation. Now we have finally got a response from the senior manger of citylets he is messing us about and avoiding our requests. No evidence provided for move out invoices, despite multiple emails.
They are taking advantage of students, avoid CityLets and do not give them business they do not deserve.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience, especially with Linda. She was impolite, passive aggressive and we felt intimidated by her. When we kindly asked about bill packages (which had previously not be discussed), she was very unkind and suggested we terminate the renting process altogether instead of providing us with any information or clarity on the overpriced bills. We were not given the option to remove the bills package as the landlord had already paid the bill for the next tenancy. The process of applying was quite frankly emotional turmoil. The guidelines regarding guarantors and finances are extremely classist and made it near impossible for those in our group residing in the channel islands to find an appropriate guarantor. Do not recommend for students looking for housing.

I met City Lets in Plymouth
I met City Lets in Plymouth on a number of occasions, today, they took me in their vehicle to view a number of properties, I liked one very much and I put down the deposit, Paul, Nicky and Sebastian were super helpful, Paul was the one who took me for the viewing, and secured me a property, super helpful and honest and great to deal with. Thank you to Citylets! Thank you Paul! And the team
Extremely rude
Extremely rude, even at a director level when they neglect to fulfil their end of the contract & left the house without Wi-Fi for over 2 weeks, extremely poor communication & no compensation offered!

Citylets is my go to website to advertise my rental property, knowing it will be snapped up quickly. Easy and straight forward to use and when I needed to contact them, the staff were friendly and helpful. I also like the fact that I receive their regular newsletters and podcasts, as they're very informative - keeping me on top of the new regulations and changes to the market. I highly recommend them.

I advertised a flat again with Citylets and got over 100 good tenant leads …..reliable as always.
WORST STUDENT HOUSING COMPANY
Had the worst experience with this business, especially Linda. They cancelled our application after paying the deposit and signing a contract. After calling for days they still haven't given our money back when they said they would. Employees, especially Linda, are ignoring our calls providing no reassurance to when we will get our money back even though they have confirmed they have received our bank details, and has got to the point where we are considering taking legal action. DO NOT GO WITH CITYLETS, ITS A SCAM!!!!
100% recommend
I couldn’t praise these enough, from the get go they have been officiant, organised and always keeping me in the loop.
They are extremely kind and friendly and happy to help.
If I’ve needed a bit of help with an issues, they have had it sorted within a great time frame.
I would 100% use them again.
Great house and service Nikki
Second year in this house has been great!
Nikki in the office is really helpful and knowledgeable and helped with some definition on the utility cap changes on the property.
Been with a few agencies and these guys have been the best!
SAVEd! Got let down by another company …
Got let down by another company and had a hard time. These guys found me and my 4 house mates a place and it is great.
They are good in maintence and we have rebooked for a second year!!
Paul and James have been extra helpful and we love the hosue
Potential but avoid for now
They might be great for students (looking at the other reviews maybe this was a hopeful view) but definitely not professionals!
I had issues from day one. They started viewings for the next academic year in January and there were frequently multiple day - some they wouldn’t even show up too. Other times they failed to inform me that they were conducting these viewings or sent a notification on the same day and blamed it on their systems. I called asking why, they blamed servers and said it registered as being undeliverable on their end. At no point did they think to check this even after I had asked them in person why I hadn’t been aware.
Following an email about an appointment, I made them aware that unless they move the appointment they wouldn’t be able to come in as I was working from home - they said fine and to put a do not disturb sign on the door. The agent didn’t listen to the sign and walked straight in. They failed to knock, and caused a disruption when I had to ask them to leave as I was in a meeting.
Didn’t have working a hoover for three months despite physically going to the offices and asking, having had emails ignored.
Additionally, had a leak which seemed to be a reoccurring problem (according to people who had lived in the building). This affected my room most and I was asked to move my furniture with no notice having been provided at all except that there was an issue with the tap.
To their credit, when I did need to relet, the team made that process easy and whilst they were unsure themselves on some points did manage to help me when I had a short turn around which I was greatful for.
When there was a delay in the deposit being returned I did highlight how this was yet another issue and the manager did ask how they could improve next time which was good to see. Admittedly, I didn’t respond as by that point they had failed to respond to any of the emails regarding the issues above and I was thrilled to see the back of them.
They have some great staff so hopefully this is constructive more than anything but if you value your space and peace of mind avoid this agency until they improve.

I cannot sing City Lets praises enough!
I cannot sing City Lets praises enough!
After looking online for somewhere for two months in Plymouth, I came down for a week to physically find somewhere.
It was quickly approaching the date I needed to vacate my current property and I went in on speculation to City Lets and arranged to see places. I was told they offer a service to collect you and drive you around to see places. I phoned up and discussed that I had numerous other places to see and my circumstances. I was put through to the manager, James. Without hesitation he made arrangements with me and offered to pick me up at a time and location to my convenience and found me somewhere to live in a well kept house share in an admirable location.
They really went above and beyond and are easily the best estate agent I have ever dealt with.
Super friendly staff, very easy to talk to.
Landlords Avoid
Landlords Avoid
Unhelpful, expensive, take money with no explanation, no communication, when you eventually get to talk to someone you are verbally abused!
Fill your vacancy via the university you will save money and hassle. They were the main reason I sold both my rental properties.

Scammers
Some friends and I are trying to rent a student house and visited one of Citylets'. House is very nice, we decide to go for it, and pay the deposit. After the deposit is paid, we are informed that our bill plan is £31 per person per week, and that it is mandatory (it had previously either not been mentioned, or only been mentioned as optional). Stay away.
Why are several viewings for properties…
Why are several viewings for properties being crammed into one day?
Makes it a fighting game. Just wasted my afternoon viewing a property which was already let ... could have maybe waited for the first viewer to make a decision and not waste our time... didn't even tell us it was let. Said we wanted the house on the viewing to be told it was already let... bad bad bad organisation skills.
Avoid!
Poorly ran, no communication. Left us in a very bad position with no accommodation for next year of uni. Avoid at all costs
