Friendly, helpful assistant

I was looking for a pair of brown loafers. I was served by a lovely young lady, who was very obliging and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble.
It was nice to go into a shop and be greeted and helped in such a friendly manner

Friendly and helpful shop staff. Quality shoes.

A fairly good range of shoes, acknowledging it is not a large store. All shoes are quality and the sizes I asked for were available in the store. Over the years I have come to learn that if you want a good pair of shoes that will last and are comfortable to wear...then you will not be disappointed with Clarke shoes. The staff in the store were also helpful and polite....no hard sell tactics...very pleased with customer service.

Easy to place an order

Easy to place an order. Packaging was good. Sandals were well made but I found them too heavy for my feet. The return was easy to do. A good experience with Clark’s. I have purchased before and loved their shoes.

Shoes have holes after 8 weeks!

Terrible! Purchased school shoes for my son who doesn't walk to school, doesn't play football and spends his break and lunchtimes vegging in the quiet room, and 8 weeks later they were both full of holes! (The Daze 2 shoes for £50)
We took them back to Clarkes with the receipt, to get told it was general wear and tear! Apparently £50 school shoes lasting 8 weeks is acceptable by their standards! Eventually they said they could give us 20% off another new pair. Which we declined as spending another £40 on another pair to last another 8 weeks is ridiculous. What's happened to Clarkes shoes quality? They used to have a reputation of being the best around. But clearly they aren't anymore. I'll never buy Clarkes shoes again.

I arrived in store in need of an extra…

I arrived in store in need of an extra wide shoe due to pain from the boots I had been wearing. I am a difficult customer as I have very wide feet with bunions and hammer toe. I was exhausted and emotional being away from home and visiting Mum in a nearby hospital. I walked in to browse and shorty after Cerys P asked if she could help, I asked to try on the widest, deepest shoes they had in stock and Cerys P brought down, unpacked and repacked around 8 pairs of shoes - without 1 complaint. Whilst Cerys P was busy getting the shoes Caitlin was on the shop floor with me checking what mens trainers they had in stock in my size and asking Cerys P to bring them down. Through all my apologies the ladies were reassuring and genuinely wanted me to leave with a pair of shoes I could walk and be comfortable in. Both ladies were knowledgeable of the stock - width, softness, give etc and worked well together to find a solution for me. Having managed a variety of Clarks shoe shops in the past, I would be proud to have these ladies as part of my team. Well done ladies, thanks very much.

Negative to Positive

After having a far from pleasant experience with the store manager at my local store, I contacted Pat at customer concerns. Pat was very helpful and empathetic to my situation. She has managed to put Clarks back into more of a positive light. Advice: if you’re not happy with an unhelpful and dismissive manager, contact customer concerns 👍🏻 To Pat: your management and approach were 1st class! Thanks
