2nd visit Dissappointed

Last time we went to this store, the staff brilliant and delivered a great service.....
Today!!!! Well woman in the down stairs looked like she didn't want to be there. Asked for feet to be measured. She did this, because it was her job. I get we all have bad days. However she went and got the size my husband needed they were tight. We asked if there were any others? All but a shrug of the shoulders she said no nothing else, picked up the box and walked away. These shoes would have been £85. There was very limited choice, however the lady serving us could NOT have looked more disinterested if she was offered a million pound to come across disinterested. Not as much as a smile, a very Dissappointed customer probably Not going back to this store.

Two half priced pairs of shoes

Purchased two pairs of shoes online. The first pair was only available online. I was disappointed with the postage fee so decided to purchase a second pair also half price. This meant delivery was free.

The first pair of shoes fitted perfectly the second pair was narrow although they should have been a wide fit. These were returned to a store, who changed them without hesitation for an alternative pair.

Very reliable

Used to be alright, but the last 5 times I've went here they've not had any shoes in my size or simply not available. But the last time I went here, I sent three pairs to them and every single one was not available in store. Such a shame as used to be a good the branch in Merry Hill.

Taybar the Superstar at Merry Hill branch

I visited the Merry Hill branch on 16/08/25 and staff member Taybar provided an amazing service.

She was very patient with my 6 year old daughter, very polite and help, she explained that my daughter had a very high instep and wide feet and did her upmost to find a good quality pair of school shoes for her.

I was so impressed with Taybar that I asked the store manager if I was able to give her a tip - obviously this isn’t something that was allowed so my verbal tip is: Taybar, you are an amazing person, and very good with children - you spent ages with us and it was exhausting but you rose to the challenge and smashed it!

Consider a job in teaching or working with children, as I think you’d do so well in that environment 😊

Above and Beyond Service at Clarks Dudley Merry Hill

I visited Clarks Dudley Merry Hill (store 1782) with my two daughters to buy school shoes, and it was by far the best experience we’ve ever had. Both of my girls have narrow feet and ankles, so finding the right fit is usually quite stressful.

Our sales assistant, Tayyibah, was absolutely brilliant. Even though the store was busy, she took the time to make sure the shoes fitted properly, checking in with my daughters to ensure they were comfortable, happy with the style, and confident in their choice. She was patient, friendly, and really went the extra mile to help.

I came away extremely impressed and very grateful for her support. Truly outstanding customer service!

Good overall experience

Website is easy to navigate. I chose the option click and collect. Was updated when the item was ready collect. Sales person was nice and quickly got the parcel for me. I bought some sandals for my little boy. They look nice and sturdy.

I recently visited the Clarkes at the Meryhill centre with my son and had a really pleasant experience, Kerry was amazing and really helpful and patient from start to finish in helping us find new school shoes and trainers.

I was so so impressed with the upstairs…

I was so so impressed with the upstairs Clark’s in merry hill centre Dudley we booked an appointment and was seen straight away. The colleague we saw was called Ellen and the customer service we received from her was absolutely fantastic. She was patient with my little girl picking school shoes and chatting to us about my little girls favourite show bluey. She is a real asset to that store and delivers service how it should be i personally want to thank Ellen for everything she delivered and making my 5 year old excited to pick her new school shoes. Xx

Disappointing experience

Disappointing experience. I went into Clarks about a week and half ago after pre booking my appointment and my daughter’s feet were measured. She tried on so many different styles as they either felt too tight or too loose. The assistant advised that she needed a wide fit (even though she was measured as a narrow fit?!) as these would fit her better. However none of the styles she liked were in stock and therefore we had to order them to store. I was still dubious about the wide fit fitting her correctly but I went off the advice I was given.
When collecting the order my daughter tried them on and they didn’t fit, another assistant even looked at them for us and said the fit wasn’t right. We spent ages again going through shoes and again the ones she liked and the ones that did fit weren’t in stock (she wanted the patent ones) reluctantly I ordered them again. Luckily just on the way out of the store I checked my confirmation email and realised the store assistant had ordered the wrong shoes for me! I went to speak to the manager and she said they couldn’t cancel the order (even though it was just placed) and I would have to have them delivered to my house and return them and she could order the correct ones but I would have to pay again! So essentially both pairs of shoes would turn up and I return the ones I didn’t want. This just seemed ridiculous as this wasn’t my error and the point of getting them delivered to my house was so I didn’t have to go to the store again! As I was that frustrated, I ended up saying I would buy the none patent shoes that were in stock incase of further issues with a new order. The manager did give me a slight discount and said I could have a free shoe polish but when looking at the receipt, she had actually charged me for the polish. I have just looked on my bank card and there is also a £3 charge from Clark’s in addition the the others and I have no idea what this charge is for.
I just felt frustrated with the whole experience and this has put me off using Clarks again in the future which is disappointing as I’ve never had a bad experience before and have used them for years.

The measurement given in store is a starting point. Once your child has a pair of shoes on their feet, the fitter may size up or down to find the best fit. We do fit styles individually, rather than giving a blanket size because individual styles may fit differently.

Back to school

Back to school! Booked an appointment online, knowing how busy it gets. Very well organised, have feet measured in the mall, then go into the store to be fitted. We were welcomed into the store, and asked to sit down. We weren't waiting very long, when Harley came over to us. She was amazing with the children, 6 and 10 year olds. Brought out a great selection of shoes. Harley was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. She was very thorough, ensuring the shoes fitted perfectly. Thank you so much Harley.
