Disappointed with sizes and selection

Friendly staff,however extremely disappointed with the selection and sizes of shoes. There were only 3 shoes available in my daughter’s size 2 of which were more for boys and one was white for a 3 year old. Was just that was all the had, no offer to order any shoes into store. Have been going into the store since my daughter needed her first pair and never had this problem, I’m now forced to go online when I’m trying to support local businesses.

We try to be as consistent as possible with our sizing and all styles are fit tested as part of our product development process. Styles may fit differently due to differences in design and customers may need to select a bigger or smaller size to find the most suitable fit. If you get the opportunity, we’d recommend visiting a Clarks store locally where you can try a variety of different sizes and styles to find a pair that are comfortable.

Had a very pleasant experience in…

Had a very pleasant experience in Clarks Penzance, was buying my child first shoes and was talked though every step and when to come back for the next stage and new shoes, lovely group of staff !

Could do better in customer service

Hi

I took back 2 pairs of shoes to return one and exchange the other for a smaller size; which resulted in a successful outcome.

I also asked advice about what to do with some previously purchased Clarks shoes which have slippery soles. The Assistant did not know the answer, didn't take advice and was disinterested in my enquiry-more interested in checking her mobile.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to read of your disappointment with the service received in store.

All sole designs are assessed for compound properties (ie. hardness, abrasion, sole substance) and tested against SATRA TM144:2011 slip resistance method in both wet and dry conditions. Clarks, as a business does not proceed to bulk production without a ‘PASS’ against this industry recognised standard for slip resistance.
