My 2nd Grader Soared in Reading with Dojo

The reading tutoring through Dojo has been absolutely outstanding! From the very first session, I saw a remarkable boost in confidence and reading ability. The tutors are incredibly skilled, patient, and genuinely dedicated to helping each student succeed. They make learning to read engaging and enjoyable while tailoring lessons to each child’s unique needs and pace.

Communication through Dojo is seamless, and the support feels truly personalized. I’ve been amazed by the progress and enthusiasm for reading that has developed — this program is a true game changer!

It is an exceptional app and the tutoring is great

I have to say it is exceptional except for one point…Well I have to say I agree with one of the other feedbacks about pricing and they tell you to join the app without making it clear they charge for it… And I was a bit disappointed in that and the price of the tutoring sessions that are 25 minutes… It shouldn't be as expensive as it is however with that being said! I am extremely satisfied with the tutoring because only three sessions and I saw a difference with my grandson and the young lady is a blessing and very kind! I will say even though I think the pricing is high it is an excellent way to help your child when it comes to your child stay catch up and stay on top! I given an overall five star rating even though the price point is a bit off...

Tutoring and Educational Consultant

Our 8 year old daughter started with Dojo Tutoring last year and her time with Ms. Jacqueline changed everything. Increased confidence and improved reading scores. We couldn't have asked for a better tutor. Our daughter LOVES her. Through this time, we've needed to change subjects and the consultations have been equally amazing. Catherine is the example of how to do it correctly. We had informative talks and always aimed at gaining the best outcomes for our daughter. Her patience, stellar interpersonal skills and knowledge went above and beyond. Excited for another school year. Kudos to Jacqueline and Catherine!

Request for refund

Received a notification that Class Dojo took 59.99 USD from my bank account!!!!!!! I only needed this application for my son who was in nursery school last year. I don’t see any reason why you want me to pay for something that I am no longer using ! Please give me my money back.

I received a link to sign up and I was…

I received a link to sign up and I was under the impression it was free. Supposedly a central place all parents can go to see pictures of their kids at school so I assumed something like Whatsapp.

After giving my personal details (something I only do to trusted companies and based on it being about my sons school, I guessed I could) I then hit the payment request which was about £6-7 a month. HELL NO, get me out of here so I cancelled the whole sign up thing. Over 6 weeks later I am still getting emails to confirm my address.

There’s also an optional subscription with a few extra features for families who want to use ClassDojo beyond school—but subscribing is completely up to you.

If you create an account but don’t finish setting it up, it still exists in our system (which is why you might receive follow-up emails). That said, you’re always in control—accounts can be deleted anytime from your settings or by contacting us.

Cost/usage

The class dojo app told me that I needed to pay to use it. Didn't realize it would be a lump sum of $70. I'm not even entirely sure how to navigate the app itself.

want to get a refund for class dojo I didn’t give my permission to Authorize a payment for $69.99. I only want the basic class dojo (free) !
My bank account was overdraft plus fee’s . Customer service is non responsible . Chase bank won’t refund me the money .
I should not have to pay to communicate with my son’s kindergarten teacher in public school.

Paid for class and the teacher did not…

Paid for class and the teacher did not show up on zoom, also emailed them about it, they asked me to reschedule and then no more responses from them. Truly disappointing.

Update : A second class was rescheduled for me which they then also canceled by email .

As a highly qualified retired teacher

As a highly qualified retired teacher, I was denied moving forward after the video interview. When I responded of not being accepted, I received a very belittling, insulting comments. I believe the real denial was because I did not fit their profile. I was judge as being " low and monotonous", but I taught for years and still in the classroom as a substitute, and I am in high demand.
Whoever chose the words they used to describe my interview could not have ever been an educator, I am retired and that comment has been the MOST insulting comment ever told to me as an educator.
Unless you want to be put down without them ever having a reference about you, and knowing your true character, do not apply .

Love tutoring with Dojo Tutor!

I have been tutoring with Dojo Tutor for 8 months now and I truly love it! It rekindles the flame of passion I have for teaching, but it allows me to work one-on-one with students, which was not possible in the classroom. This allows me to attend to that individual student's immediate needs without any distractions. I feel that this experience is also quite valuable to the student as well. Personally, I have really enjoyed my time with Dojo Tutor and hope to continue growing upward in the company!

So I didn’t want the Plus account version which I inadvertently pressed and paid for. Thought there was going to be one of those epic endless battles to get a refund, but no. Sent an email and a few minutes later a full refund was on its way.

Great place to work

Speaking from a tutor’s perspective, Dojo is a great team to work with. We get to focus on 1:1 teaching and are given the autonomy to design our lessons to suit each individual child. Dojo offers plenty of optional resources that we may use while respecting our teacher judgement and creativity. The pay is prompt and transparent. The community of teachers is friendly and helpful. The flexibility of a 1099 position means we can tutor alongside other commitments. It’s taken a lot of stress away not to worry about grading or other admin tasks. Dojo assigns us our students, so although we can advertise to recruit more, we don’t have to.

I love ClassDojo

I love ClassDojo! I used it for 8 years when I was a classroom teacher and it was amazing! I also LOVE Dojo Islands. My students always had so much fun creating and collaborating together when using Dojo Islands. I've been working as a Dojo tutor for almost two years and its been an amazing experience so far. I love the relationships I built with my students and its great how I can teach at the comfort of my own home. ClassDojo is amazing all around!

UNDERWHELMING FOR EXPERIENCED TEACHERS

I have taught for almost a half century and this company's onboarding process and pay scale is an insult to those of us who are masters at our craft. Class Dojo only pays $7.50 for a trial class. Few if any parents sign up for a subscription after the trial class even if they LOVE the teacher and class because in order to receive an hour of instruction (recommended for middle school aged students) it is very costly, out of which the teacher only receives $30. My only paycheck after two months of onboarding and work was $30. Management does not answer emails and disrespects their teachers during their Zoom "training" sessions by ignoring questions posted in the chat.

However, after this review was posted management did reach out to me personally and it was apparent they really do care about the experiences of their teacher tutors and listened intently to my suggestions.

Very pissed off with this app… I paid…

Very pissed off with this app… I paid for a year subscription for the plus and my account does not reflect the changed. It’s impossible to get help and I am unable to get a refund… I just wanted help but it’s damn near impossible
