Had to get a train to Malpense Airport…

Had to get a train to Malpense Airport as hotel we was booked into unfortunately close on last day of our trip. Checked out of hotel at 11.00 am as couldn’t get a late checkout and flight was not until 10.00pm were we supposed to lug our baggage all around Como for 9-10 hours.
Cancelled transfer and paid train fee, tried to get transfer money back but no chance.
Would not recommend this company one bit…

Please be weary booking holidays…

Please be weary booking holidays through this company.
At present they are trying to send us to a dangerous, unfinished, unlicenced hotel in Turkey and although was told that if the hotel wasn't ready/100% fully functional, that we could switch to a sister hotel, now the company is ignoring us and we travel on Monday!!!!!

Avoid like the plague, deleting all my comments on social media and blocking me from posting on their posts

BEWARE !! When things go wrong they don’t want to know !!!

Booked 3 holidays with this circus act.. My holiday to Cyprus in September… RyanAir have completely changed my flights and emailed me to say I could accept the new flights or cancel the flights and get a refund but because I’ve booked through Classic Collection I have to ask for a refund through them … this was over 5 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for my refund !!! Rest assured the 2 x Holidays I also have booked with them next year … I am cancelling .. this party outfit can do one …. BEWARE AT ALL COSTS !!!!

Don’t waste you time

Don’t waste you time with this inefficient, unfriendly company.
Impossible to get hold off. No way to get a quotation online and no way you can speak to anyone. Keel you hanging on the phone, no call back facility, then the phone cuts off. The online chat just gives you the numbers you’ve tried and an email address. But they don’t reply to the emails.
If they can’t be bothered when they should be wanting a sale then what would they be like if you had a problem on holiday. The hotels are usually covered by Jet2, EasyJet or Tui and no doubt much cheaper.

Holiday transfer nightmare

Classic holidays arranged our hotel to resort transfers via ‘Holiday Taxis’. we were ‘dumped’ in the wrong resort at 23.40 hours and it was only through an hotel Receptionist that we managed to get a taxi to the right resort. We are an elderly couple and I have heart disease and the experience was stressful and in the situation I did not seek a receipt from the driver. To cut a long story short Classic holidays refunded the taxi fare but as I had not obtained a receipt would not consider compensation for the unforgivable service. They would not investigate the matter even though I gave them the name and address of the hotel where help was given. They said that without a receipt from the taxi driver I could not prove it had happened! My guess is that I could take them to the small claims court for the taxi fare but not for compensation.
I tried to contact Holiday taxis without success ( or they did not reply to my texts to 2 different email addresses) and looked back at a previous holiday where because our flight was delayed and we were just over 2 hours late in getting to the rendezvous the taxi left the airport and would only return if we paid again. In my opinion Classic Collection holidays are uncaring and Holiday taxis are unreliable.

Great Online Staff

I had the best first time experience with Colt in Customer Service. He was very friendly, professional and was patient to help me through the booking process. He also went out of his way to provide me with a flight connection that didn’t change the holiday prices. I highly recommend Classic Collection.

Poor customer service. Level of ATOL protection not as expected.

My partner and I have just booked a holiday to Tenerife through Classic Collection (CC). Usual thing: flights, hotel, transfers to/from Tenerife airport. The booking process was efficient enough, though the price quoted initially was much higher than we could get elsewhere. Having used CC in the past, we decided to go with them after they agreed to price-match. So far so good.
The Booking Confirmation document they sent us had CC’s address in place of ours and the breakdown of the amount paid didn’t match what we’d paid. A call to the customer contact number went unanswered for 45+ minutes, so we emailed them. That took days to get a response. Not good.
The hotel room had been booked via another travel agent which struck us as odd. We then noticed that the ATOL document stated we had a ‘Package (Multi-contract)’ (MCP) and that we had individual contracts with the airline, the hotel and the transfer firm. No mention was made of this during the booking phase.
We had expected the ATOL certificate to state ‘Package (Single contract)’ (SCP), indicating we had a single contract with Classic Collection as was the case with a holiday we booked through CC last year
A quick look on the web suggests that MCP ATOL protection is lower than SCP ATOL protection, in that the booking firm – in this case Classic Collection – isn’t necessarily liable to sort things out if one of the suppliers (flights / hotel / transfers) has a problem/goes bust. (I could be wrong about the differences in levels of ATOL protection so, as always, do your own research).
We have been trying to speak to CC to clear this up but, no surprise, can’t get through to them. Bottom line is: we cannot recommend using Classic Collection.

Further to my last post regarding this…

Further to my last post regarding this Company.
I managed to find a telephone number for their accounts department. Very dismissive about the problem only to say they had been restructured. I asked why no one was answering telephone calls in their customer service department and I was told they were very busy following their restructuring. I said, obviously you do not have enough staff and the lady laughed and said I could not possibly comment. I suppose draw your own conclusions.
However the lady did say I will get a manager to phone you back re your holiday. As you can imagine no phone calls.
We actually watched to book another holiday with this company which in the past have been very good.
It seems this Company must be loosing thousands every day as we have booked a holiday with another company.
If you are possibly booking a holiday with this Company please think very carefully

Complete ripoff Travel Agents

I regret I think these people are rip-off merchants. The reason is that last night I completed their form for a quote to go to Palacio Can Marques hotel for 7 days over next new year commencing 29 December. They responded today with a quote for £6273 by Ms O’Neill. Wot! By a search booking direct with the hotel and Jet 2 for the same flights and period I gained a price of £3826. If I booked the lot with Jet 2 they offered £3670! I telephoned To ask my correspondent had they made an error because their quote was ludicrous. The lady I spoke to, in a call centre of course, with much background noise, said she’d do a price match. That came up with £4500. My own research gained a reduction of £2603. The price match reduction offer a price of only £1773, still £830 above my price!

I suggest this lot are rascals and no one should have anything to do with them.

Seeking to take advantage

We were trying to book an upmarket hotel in lanzarote but could not find any rooms on their website and in the absence of a reply from the hotel asked our travel agent who suggested Classic Collections. They quickly came back with availability for exactly the suite we wanted on the right dates. The cost seemed very high but, in the mistaken belief that there was limited availability we paid a deposit.

As it turned out the hotel responded very shortly afterwards. They had lots of availability; the reasons for the website showing none and their delayed response was that we were very early in trying to book. All that no problem.

However, the quote from the hotel was less than half the Classic Collection cost and even adding flights etc the total was only marginally more than half the package cost. Classic Collections were unrepentant. We cancelled.

Obviously every business needs to make a profit to survive and tour operators are no exception. We realised that booking through one would mean we would be paying something of a premium - but not nearly double. That premium was several thousand pounds and for a two week break short haul.

I have no reason to believe the travel agent was trying to rip us off - I have known them for years. Initially we were prepared to accept that Classic Collections had made a mistake but as noted above they were unrepentant.

This experience has left a sour taste and we won’t contemplate using Classic Collections again, nor will the travel agent.

Great customer service

Had quite a few issues with the hotel we stayed at which was the Lindos Royal Resort and classic holidays jumped onto them immediately and tried to resolve the problems.

Unfortunately we continued having issues with the holiday and Natalie immediately compensated us without even asking. Great efforts from the company and great customer service I'm not sure why people have written bad reviews maybe they've just been unlucky.

Also response times are extremely quick.

Failure to convey critical change to travel details

Booked a classic collection package holiday through my local travel agent. This was supposed to be a 4 night trip to Spain however classic collection holidays didn’t inform us that our flight home had been cancelled in advance of our departure. We therefore flew to Spain on our outbound flight and were told of this cancellation at the pool side by other holidaymakers two days before our supposed departure.

We contacted classic holidays while in resort once we heard the news and they informed us they would call us back straight away with a plan, unfortunately it was 9am the next morning before they contacted us and told us we were now booked on a flight leaving in 5 hours and were being collected from our hotel in 2 hours.

Our 4 night holiday became a 3 night holiday and we also had the added stress of the delayed response from classic holidays.

Only for the fact they will only compensate us with vouchers for their company I would hope to never deal with them again and would advise everyone else to avoid this company. If booking through a travel agent please check which company you’re dealing with at the other end to avoid a similar situation.

Great price and exceptional service

I booked a family holidays with Classic collection to go to Spain. I dealt with Alexandre. It was easy, quick and their price was good until we got informed that hotel was closing due to Covid - got my deposit refunded easily and quick - I will use them again, highly recommended.

Booked a holiday last year with my local travel agent and paid the £250 deposit
May Half term staying around the Costa Brava
Unfortunately, this unprecedented dreaded COVID-19 virus has struck.
The holiday was planned for the 25th May 1 week family holiday school half-term.
The remainder of the payment was due last week. I suggested a date change but they wanted double the original holiday cost. (additional £1500) even though the flights appear the same costs on Ryanair website. (seriously don't get the double price. just appears to be profiteering from this virus.
Understanding this dreaded Virus flexibility is needed even a £250 voucher to be booked with them at a later date will have sufficed, I am not after my money back but also don't want to lose it.
Classic Packages which I believe are the same group pf companies would not compromise. I either paid them the remainder of the holiday or lose my deposit. (do you seriously think Spain will be open for holidays in May ? )Considering how they have been so inflexible there is no way I would trust this company with my money.
Avoid at all costs. A measure of a good company is how they deal with issues, its easy to give praise if everything goes well
Use them at your peril
