Creating a Star Gazing Hare

Where do I start?

As a complete novice I attended a session lead by the lovely Tracy and Jess, where they assured me I was going to turn a lump of clay into a Star Gazing Hare.

From start to finish, what a great experience. Tracy and Jess patiently guided me to create my Hare.

From the step by step instructions, the words of encouragement, hospitality, and everything inbetween - thank you!
You have ignited a new passion. I will definately be coming back!

For anyone considering a pottery session - do it, you won't regret it!

What a fabulous find!

What a fabulous find! We have had a lovely time here. A 3hr workshop with a group of mixed abilities. Tracey led us through a range of techniques and we were free to make whatever we wanted with as much clay as we liked. Totally relaxed in a beautiful setting. We will be going back and can highly recommend to others.

Wonderful experienceI

My daughter Sophie and I had a clay workshop with Tracy, and it was one of the most enjoyable, relaxing experiences I can remember.

My daughter has autism and adhd, and Tracy’s gentle manner and clear guidance was exactly what she needed - after one visit she now wants to go “every day”.

The choice of things to make is almost limitless, and Tracy’s expertise brings the creation of most things clay within your grasp - I would honestly recommend it to anyone - families seeking an enjoyable activity together, couples wanting to share a romantic and memorable experience, or groups of friends looking to spend a tremendously enjoyable couple of hours being more creative than you may have thought possible.

Tracy and Jess made our first family…

Tracy and Jess made our first family pottery class so fun and relaxing. The class was tailored perfectly to our interests and we were made to feel very welcome straight away and nothing was too much trouble. We will return to do more pottery and would highly recommend Tracy’s classes. Thank you!

Excellent experience!

Went with a friend in May and had the best day. I’m not creative but Tracy really helps and is so knowledgeable. I impressed myself with what you can make with clay. The setting is beautiful with great views over the fields and the cup of tea wasn’t too bad at all! Can’t wait to go back next time! Highly recommended to people of all ages!

A fabulous family afternoon!

What a fantastic day at Clayways!
Tracy was amazing from start to finish, guiding us through the different techniques from hand-building, to throwing on the wheel, to using slabs! Her knowledge of the clay and how to work with it is fantastic!
I attended with my mum and sister, and Tracy somehow managed to support all 3 of us every step of the way, like some sort of all-seeing, all-knowing octopus!!! With Tracy’s guidance we all produced some pots that we came away feeling really proud of!
We’re very much chatterboxes usually, but there was something about the space which was really calming and mindful, whilst also still being able to have a chat a giggle too! Just the loveliest afternoon! Thank you Tracy, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic place to learn pottery

Clayways is a great place to go to learn pottery skills or just to go and have fun day making things. There is everything you need to throw pots or to build more varied shapes. You can choose from a great range of clays and glazes so each piece can be very different. I got to use stoneware and porcelain. Tracy is a patient teacher and the studio is a lovely place to spend a few hours.

A lovely modern pottery studio

Tracey has a lovely modern pottery studio, with all the equipment you could possibly need, including a great ideas and techniques folder. I spent a relaxing morning throwing a vase and a bird feeder on the wheel. Tracey was there to help when needed but also to just let me get on with it. Perfect!!

Amazing experience

I attended Pots & Prosecco event held by Tracey and the team what a thoroughly enjoyable evening I was a little nervous at the prospect of throwing a pot being a compete novice but the excellent direction from Tracey and her team I managed not only through a perfect pot on first attempt but managed to produce a number of items, wasn’t rushed or made to feel silly when asked daft questions and as a “lefty” the wheel was changed round to make it easier for me to use the wheel. I can’t recommend Clayways enough and can’t wait to return to glaze my efforts, Totally reccomend them book in for a session can understand why people get hooked with pottery look out for me on “great pottery throw down” next Ha ha ha

Can’t wait to go back

Tracy is a star. She’s warm, welcoming & entirely beginner friendly.
She took the time to talk me through, step-by-step until I’d made something I was genuinely proud of.
I can’t wait to go back to finish off my piece, when it’s ready for a glaze. Couldn’t recommend enough!
