Disappointing Experience with Clearlift™ IPL Device and Customer Servic

I purchased the Clearlift IPL Hair removal handset in July 2024, attracted by its promise of effective hair removal at home. Upon receiving the product, I promptly read the accompanying materials and discovered the device is ineffective on light coloured or white hair- a detail I had missed in the product description.
I attempted to return the item but found it very difficult to get a response from the company as to where I should return the item. After many emails back and forth , I finally initiated a return process in late August 2024.
Despite following their guidelines and returning the product, I have yet to receive my refund of £170
Over the past seven months, I have contacted Clearlift multiple times. In the beginning they responded to my emails, asking for a photograph of the item which I duly sent, then it was proof of delivery which I duly sent, then a long period of time with no response from them, then the same process again asking for photographs and proof of return as requested.
I had purchased this item through PayPal but as the item was not defective as far as I was aware, because I didn’t even remove the cellophane around the package before I returned it, they were no help.
And once Paypal washed their hands of my dilemma, Clearlift pretty much ignored me.
I continue to send an email at least once a month and to my surprise in January I received a reply by email requesting my proof of postage again as they said they couldn’t read it previously
Despite being annoyed by all their delaying tactics, I responded with a picture of the return receipt, I printed out the reference number in large font so they could read it.
And now nothing
This prolonged lack of resolution and communication is highly frustrating and unprofessional. I caution potential customers to be aware of the companies return policies and customer service responsiveness before making a purchase.
Do not purchase from this company unless you are 100% positive that the item is suitable for your needs
