Critical Warning for Business Owners
Critical Warning for Business Owners – Bluevine / Coastal Community Bank Froze & Closed My Accounts Without Justification
I’m writing this review to warn other business owners about my deeply concerning experience with Bluevine, whose banking services are provided through Coastal Community Bank.
At 4:00 PM on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, Bluevine abruptly froze both of my business accounts without any prior notice or explanation. This action completely shut down my business operations, including my ability to run payroll for my staff — a devastating blow heading into a holiday weekend.
After the holiday, I spent four business days on the phone with customer service, trying to get answers. I was transferred multiple times, kept on hold for extended periods, and received no clear explanation for the account holds. Eventually, one of the two accounts was unlocked, just enough to pay my employees, but the second account — containing $81,000 in cleared funds — remained locked with no reason provided.
Then, the very next day, Bluevine / Coastal Community Bank closed both accounts entirely, again without explanation, and informed me that my over $100,000 in business funds would NOT be returned. This has crippled my business, delayed vendor payments, and forced me to begin pursuing legal action for negligence and damages.
This level of mishandling, lack of communication, and disregard for the impact on a small business is beyond unacceptable. For a financial institution that claims to support small businesses, Bluevine and Coastal Community Bank have proven to be completely unreliable and opaque.
Bluevine and Coastal Community Bank — you need to make this right immediately. Return the funds you are holding and take accountability for the disruption and harm you've caused to my business.
I strongly urge other business owners to exercise extreme caution before trusting either of these entities with your money. If you rely on consistent access to your funds to run your business, look elsewhere.
