I was nervous to use Codeable as I have never used it before. I ended up working with Santiago Bazán in resolving site issues following a switch from staging to production which left us with our site down and unable to access admin. He was very efficient and treated our project with urgency. Less than 24hrs later our site is fully working with access restored, and yet I still am waiting to hear back from other companies on estimate inquiries. Santiago was great at communicating, and ensured he knew the project well before submitting an estimate. Codeable's workroom was a great experience as well, I loved the email updates so I knew when I needed to hop on and respond. Good first experience with a project that has been finished an delivered.

Affordable and skilled developers for our Wordpress e-commerce project.

Disclaimer: I do software development for a living. But specifically, my work involves everything from project management to business analysis to devops and everything in between.

In other words, I know what developers need to work from - and I know when a developer is trying to go too deep so they can ramp up their bill.

That's not Codeable's fault specifically. But I call it out, because of how the service handles these situations.

In my case I wanted to outsource a personal project. I can do it, but I have business stuff to focus on. We're talking a very small project; I'm fairly sure a recent college grad could do it in NodeJS in their sleep.

Got responses from people asking for mockups - I gave mockups. Visual, descriptive, easy. If it weren't web based I could do it in MS Access. It's 6 fields of data and a single API with one or two dynamic pages.

Got a response saying, "waiting for the mockups"?

A little peeved, I replied that the mockups are there, and they're all that are needed.

Get a reply (this was two days ago now) saying they want "design mockups".

Tried to log in to reply, can't access. Because apparently, Codeable just disables it if you don't reply immediately. Not seemingly understanding that it may take time to see the message. More importantly, you can't provide any feedback about these prospective developers asking for needless additional information so they can overcharge people; because that's the only logical reason one would ask for more "design" stuff when they were already provided mockups. You don't need it - provide a quote without it. That's not how they work.

That's the problem.

The people who respond act like they're running the show, not the customer.

What SHOULD happen, is they do as they're told. An agreement is struck, and you add whatever contingency (i.e. if the scope of work goes beyond X we reserve the right to charge an additional Y with agreement with the customer).

Instead, it's treated as a dictatorial word (sing Worf, wing), and that's not going to work. Nor would I ever recommend this service to anyone if you can't even get a basic quote without them already trying to nickel-and-dime you right from jump street.

STAY AWAY - these Lot leverage the scope of work you agree to against you - they are Fraudsters and scammers - not only that they blocked me from signing back in. I paid to get my website finished (the task was embedding some content into the pages and sorting the payment gateways) i was left with NO payment gateways and a heap of bugs and broken pages that needed fixing - More problems than answers and after filing against their system they told me i was due 0 Refund i am Livid! and then shortly after my email and computer got Hacked - i wouldnt be surprised if they was behind it - Have been in a Deep Depression ever since - STAY WELL AWAY!
