Tragedy

Tragedy. They sell broken, bugged and broken software. When you finally get a refund (I had to use PayPal help), they block your account and remove negative comments about them. Response from them: [...] We’re letting you know, that as a security precaution, your Envato account has been locked. Any ratings/reviews will be removed (unless you have purchased the item multiple times) [...]. Do not buy from them any products, because almost all negative comments about defective products are removed!

I been with CodeCanyon for YEARS and I…

I been with CodeCanyon for YEARS and I will give an honest NON BIASED review.

It is so unfair to see all these complainers giving LOW stars just because they can't code, refuse to pay freelancer or communicate with author. They develop such BIG scripts and sell for so low price.

A FACTUAL non bias comparison.
Example:
CodeCanyon Wowonder == 50 bucks + free native apps. Free for life updates. Support is basically for life even though it states extension cost but author is kind. He listens and updates and adds features.

ElseWhere PHPFOX & Screa8Social == THOUSANDS of dollars. Support cost $$$. update 1 year. They don't care about quality. Everything is crippled. Support is to fix their own crippledware.

It's a blessing that we have CodeCanyon. I will never return to those guys. Scripts on CodeCanyon are very easy to extend. Freelance is cheaper than customwork or modules that cost 25-1000 at phpfox and crea8social.

When buying scripts elsewhere you pay 50x's the cost and the product can be worse. On CodeCanyon at least there's a rating, comments and demo to test before you buy.

I can't complain. Lose here and there but it's just a few bucks.

I'll be honest I've lost over 1000 plus on phpfox4 and support is stingy as heck.

Lost 1000 plus on Crea8social Pro and same issue.

I bought many scripts here on code canyon and the support is free, they go beyond elsewhere and their coding is equally or better.

The low rating here is probably just because these guys have not experienced the THOUSANDS of dollars loss I have else where. 5 star all the way. It's basically a test drive.

Get real. Give this site 5 star. Where else would we find scripts like Wowonder, sngine, newspaper and hundreds other scripts all under 100 bucks. Seriously. Where?

Codecanyon not good for buying scripts

Codecanyon not good for buying scripts. some of sellers (authors) are very froud. Especially author droidOxy , he selling useless apps which is not acceptable by google play and he is not letting other peoples to sell related items on codecanyon. He removed it by false DMCA complaint. And Envato team also disabled items without actually looking on it if it has a copyrighted material. This makes peoples to hate codecanyon. And another seller DoughouzLight he did not specify the actual product details and details of which IDE used to build the script/app. He makes peoples foolish and also refused to refund..

Amazing Experience Purchasing WordPress Plugin

Made a WordPress plugin purchase and the support from author is amazing!

There might be misconception here, item support and refunds are handled by individual authors but not Codecanyon or Envato, they only handle the helpdesk communications.

Scammers who refuse to refund

Their plugin didn't work with my existing plugin. My developer suggested I cancel it. I requested a refund from Codecanyon, but instead received a rude email about this being not a Codecanyon problem, but had to do with another plugin. The "customer service" person had no way of telling this was correct. When I told her to stop stalling and processing the refund, she sent me a link to my general profile and told me to request it there. I had to ask AGAIN for details where to request the refund.
Now that I have finally found the extremely well-hidden refund request form, I am again being interrogated as to why I didn't ask Codecanyon for help.
I HAVE HELP. I HAVE A WEB DEVELOPER. CODECANYON HAS STILL REFUSED TO REFUND. I bought the plugin 10 days ago, so am well within my consumer rights to cancel the purchase. And yet... nothing.

Truly and Despicably Shady Place

Here's my review after years of being on this place. Some of the code I bought did not work. I only received a refund for a few of those items. The rest? They say I was not eligible. Whatever that means. It's good to be the supreme judge isn't it? You don't have any possible objections.

Furthermore they delete honest reviews about other plugins/themes. I would have not believed that if it did not happen to me. I suspect that probably authors can bribe them into doing that. What happened is that I was very dissatisfied with support from one of the plugins authors. Sneakily these plugin authors introduced some measures that limit the plugins functionality. I've wrote about this matter on the product page and have given them a negative rating for that. To my surprise no one wrote about it before in the last weeks since this was happening. Or that's what I thought. Shortly after leaving the bad review for this user it was removed and I have received a threatening email that I should not post defamatory content or my account will get suspended. There was not ONE defamatory word posted in my review. I was NOT being offensive in even one sentence.

It immediately became clear to me that this must have been the reason for a full 5.00 star rating on all the authors plugins. I've not seen this before. You don't get to see a full 5.00 rating often, let alone on all the three plugins. Could it be that the plugins are really that good and no single user complained about anything at all? Not really possible in this day and age is it? Even if you have the best code/support (which of course is not the case here). It became clear to me then they are intentionally removing all the negative reviews from others as well! Either they are being paid for that by the authors or the authors themselves are connected to the company in some way.

At the end of their (ENVATO THEMSELVES) threatening email they also said that my account will be removed shall my "behaviour" continue. Effectively they did tell me that if I share a review once again they will remove me from their place. What a sellout.

This company is allowing people to sell…

This company is allowing people to sell their products and keep collecting money to find out that they don't even email you for support. Even though Codecanyon knows about it, they are still letting the users selling their products. Codecanyon is not taking responsability for any claims. This is a fraud and it should be investigated and shut down their website.

Awful company to purchase or deal with

I usually don't write negative review about company but this needs to be said as I want others to be careful. I bought a apps from CodeCanyon, and after I paid thorough their online shopping cart, immediately they locked my account out.

I did not know why but tried to contact them, sent 5 messages after spent two hours how to figure out and read all of their blogs, and long script. No reply, no customer service, never heard back from them. I tried to find their contact phone, nothing.

Very awful and terrible company so don't purchase anything from this company, just my humble opinion.

A non-contactable company hiding behind…

A non-contactable company hiding behind out of date applications and so called developers who are not interested in helping but scamming money out of genuine clients looking for worthwhile apps. After sales service is the most important attribute a developer can have - this lot are sadly lacking as there is NONE.
Too angry to continue - will never purchase from this company ever again.
