Full Stack Software Development Diploma
Best Software Development course I've attended by far! Content, assignments and projects were a great learning experience and the support by the Code Institute's mentors and tutors were second to none!
A Stellar Experience at Code Institute
Enrolling in the Level 5 Double-Stack Software Development course at Code Institute of Dublin has been an incredibly rewarding experience since I joined in February. Although the program is primarily online, it truly excels at fostering connections with fellow students, tutors, mentors, and the supportive school staff.
The weekly class meetings with our dedicated teacher are an excellent feature—they're not only well-organized but also backed by opportunities for one-to-one sessions and communication through chat or email. This personal touch ensures students feel heard and supported throughout their learning journey.
Adding to this, the school hosts weekly webinars featuring tutors, alumni, entrepreneurs, and even the occasional recruiter. These sessions offer invaluable insights and inspiration from industry experts. Furthermore, while practical sessions on Agile principles are not part of the curriculum (there is a section in the learning material, though), there’s a fantastic alternative—monthly Hackathons. These are skillfully organized with teams comprising students and alumni of various skill levels, providing a brilliant opportunity to put Agile methodologies into practice. I recently participated in my first Hackathon, and I’m still buzzing with excitement from the experience!
One of the standout features is the careers team. They go above and beyond to coach students on perfecting worksearch essentials such as LinkedIn profiles and portfolios, while also offering personalized advice to help us stand out in the job market.
The learning interface is both comprehensive and challenging, striking the perfect balance to keep students engaged and motivated. In addition to the above, the school boasts a wide array of other enriching features that would take pages to list—but trust me when I say they enhance the experience remarkably.
In conclusion, Code Institute of Dublin offers an outstanding and immersive learning environment, even in an online setting. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to dive into software development.

I had a great expirience with the course.
Self paced, well constructed lessons.
Tutor and student support, mentoring, and community are absolutely amazing.
Web development course.
I am enjoying the challenge of learning a new skill. Web development and coding are skills that I have wanted to become familiar with and understand for a while and I think Code Institute delivers their web development course in an accessible way with lots of practical, hands on exercises, milestone projects and access to mentors. I feel as though I am definitely being pushed, yet learning as well. I would certainly recommend the course for anyone serious about wanting to learn web development.
Amazing Community
Not only do they have amazing courses that really challenge and lift your skills, but the community is unrivalled. The staff are all extremely passionate about the courses and hackathons they provide and there is always support from somewhere within the institute, even long after graduating.
Fantastic experience with Code Institute
I had an incredible experience on the government-funded 16 week Full Stack Development for the AI Augmented Developer Bootcamp by Code Institute! While the program was high-intensity, for me personally it was also really enjoyable, keeping me engaged and constantly learning. The structured curriculum on the LMS platform and expert guidance form our cohort facilitator, our bootcamp coding coaches and our subject matter experts made a real impact on my growth.
Not only that, a standout feature is their Slack community and the sheer variety of information channels they offer, which makes remote learning feel truly interactive and engaging. Being part of a vibrant, contributing network of students (past and present) and staff has been amazing for learning, collaboration, and support throughout my journey.
Yes, it’s hard (it’s a lot of information to process in a short timespan), and it’s not for everyone, but if you’re like me and you thrive on challenging and really pushing yourself to go further in your understanding, and don’t let challenges stop you, then this course could be for you.
One of the standout aspects is the monthly hackathons, which provide an amazing opportunity to refine skills, build confidence, make valuable connections and apply what you’ve learned in a fun (and competitive!) way. Winning first place in the April 2025 Unmask the Coder: Beating Impostor Syndrome One Line at a Time hackathon with my team was a huge highlight for me! It was certainly an apt theme for my first true hackathon and with one being held each month hopefully it won’t be my last!
Beyond the technical training however, Code Institute also offers career support and guidance, including 1:1 sessions, an LMS Careers course tailored to job readiness, webinars featuring insights from past alumni and major tech employers, and also hold an insightful annual Elevate careers fair that is a wealth of information and tips for a anyone wanting a career in tech.
These resources have been invaluable in preparing me for the job market and building connections in the industry.
Overall, I highly recommend Code Institute to anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in software development. The support, learning environment, and continuous skill-building opportunities make it an exceptional choice for anyone passionate about growing in this field! It’s not surprising that they received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted this year!
Excelente
Excelente, from the perspective of some one who has finished the program and get the job even before that, great team and support Code Institute
Outstanding
I decided during the summer of 2024 that I wanted, needed a career change. Tech has always been a huge interest of mine, so I began searching for options to study software development.
That's when I found the Full Stack Diploma in Software Development with The Code Institute. I began my course in November 2024, and I've never looked back. amazing.
The focus is not just on the learning content (material, challenges) you also learn about the tech industry. I also have a career program running alongside my diploma to get me career-ready, for potential employers when the time comes.
There are also amazing events in the Events Hub - where you can get actual potential employer insights from companies, recruitment, live tutor sessions on topics, and of course, alumni who have completed their journey.
I have a 1:1 mentor who is actively working in the industry to help me with my milestone projects, and there are other supports available. BIG shout out to the Code Institute Slack Community.
Code Institute is an Ofsted Outstanding Provider, and you can really see why when you're within the community. I have no regrets, I am halfway through plenty of ups and downs, but it is so rewarding.
What an experience for a first..
What an experience for a first Hackathon, I would recommend anyone to join in and be a part of this amazing event.

The hackathon idea at Code Institute is amazing! I enjoy teaming up with new members every month to create exciting projects that also help strengthen my portfolio.
Just finished the 5 coding challenge
Just finished the 5 coding challenge, it’s a great introduction, finally I can at least know what exactly I should learn and how. A little challenging but interesting at the same time.
A solid base to understanding what its about.
It gave me an idea of what coding was all about, and now I am more informed. Thank you
The course was pretty informative and I…
The course was pretty informative and I was able to go through it pretty easily. However I did not get a completion certificate for the course.
Best experience
I loved how we could practice alongside learning and that lessons were scheduled no live classes making it easy for anyone to make time and learn irrespective of timezones.
I believe this Challenge offers a great…
I believe this Challenge offers a great introduction to the world of coding—it gives you a quick and accessible way to explore whether this path is right for you.
However, during the phone call, I felt that there wasn’t enough attention paid to my personal background, my motivation for pursuing this career, or whether I had any specific questions. It would really make a difference if these conversations felt more personalized and human. Taking the time to understand each person’s story and goals could help build a stronger connection and make the experience much more meaningful.
I completed the Full Stack Software…
I completed the Full Stack Software Development diploma in November and specialised in Predictive Analytics. Everyday that passes I feel like I completely wasted my time and almost €8,000 doing this course. The projects are worthless and employers don’t care about them. This course desperately needs a work a placement of some sort. I wasted a full year doing this course, working full time and trying to do well. I’ve applied for hundreds of jobs and follow up on every lead possible. Predictive Analytics needs to be scrapped, it’s awful and NO TUTOR SUPPORT?!?!? That is mind boggling. The one positive is that the Student Care team are great, especially Kim. There’s just no hope getting a job with this diploma alone which completely defeats the purpose of it in my opinion. The content seems to be just rehashed and reused from previous years. I feel disheartened to be completely honest and I’ve pretty much given up on my ideal job of Software Developer and decided to pursue promotions in my current job. What a waste of time and money.
5 Day Coding Challege: A great introduction to web development
I tried the 5 Day Coding Challenge to get a taste for web development and help me to decide if it would be a good career path for me. The Learning Management System is great and the teaching style is very clear and effective, which made the whole experience satisfying and enthusing. I got a great insight into the world of web development and it was fantastic to get some hands on experience as opposed to just reading/watching content. I would 100% recommend taking the challenge if you're curious about this field, as it's a relatively quick way to get a good idea of what it entails, and the delivery of the challenge is superb.
Learned a lot BUT a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT overall
As a beginner this was extremely hard to complete. Even with the slowest plan you have 12 months and the hours/week they say you’ll need that should be at least doubled if not tripled.. Too much information and definitely not enough time to understand and keep up as a complete beginner. There was no such thing as career advice afterwards. Once exams were done i never heard of them again except for a phone call i received more than a year after completing the course asking me if i found a job in the field. Well i didn’t. And after paying all that money they cut your access to the learning material once the last exam is submitted. I did learn a lot but overall this was a huge disappointment.. Many things are being promised and those promises are not kept. I don’t think it’s worth the money and i definitely don’t think that things that are not going to happen should be promised..

Not a great experience...
I believe there are areas in which this company can improve such as the structure of the course. I'm not sure the qualifications they offer are significant enough to gain meaningful employment in industry for most people, as you'll be competing with many individuals that are significantly more qualified.
I don't think the Diploma in Full Stack Software Development justifies the price tag they are charging, just my two cents.
