Complete scam "codingclass.app" and "ccget-assist"

I never signed up for this "coding education" opportunity but they started charging me £62 a month until my bank raised it as possible fraud with me. They deny all responsibility and have refused all refund

SCAM - CodingClass.app - On facebook

08/12/24 On facebook, I responded to a competition for a Dewalt McLaren Impact driver, Won and processed a payment for £2 to cover delivery cost (ONLY). The facebook site payment indicated 'Payment Failed', However the site then proceeded to request further information for delivery and then request a further payment of £1.99 to cover delivery by FED Ex, giving a tracking number. At this point I stopped, checked the Tracking number (it failed on FED Ex site).

Checking with credit card company a £2 payment had been taken.

There was no indication of any subscription, or paying to join any class, course or anything other than a delivery payment.

I have never heard of CodingClass.app and have no interest in subscribing to any online training / class or course.

Realising a scam, I waited and as expected received via email a welcome email from CodingClass.app.

I immediately (within 1 hour of payment) tried to cancel any subscription or membership via their website, via the options on their site. All message pages indicated 'Page Expired' when message sent.

At this point I then used their 'Support' email address, marking all attempts with delivery and read markers. I have received automatic email postmaster delivery receipts, and an automatic reply from Codingclass, so technically I have delivered and they have received the request to unsubscribe within their 3 day limit.

They should now not try to take the monthly 47.45 euro

Update - 10/12/24

Having sent emails to CodingClass 'Support' email address, and more importantly also contacted my Credit Card company, to dispute the payment / subscription etc, I have received two emails from CodingClass to confirm subscription has been canceled with immediate effect.

This may be because the Credit card company knows this company, and will reject any request for payment, when it has been disputed. They say once rejected the scam company does not try to argue.

I have also now seen on Facebook other similar 'competitions' (Dewalt, B&Q etc) set up axactly the same and there is absolutely no mention of any subscription.

Update - 26/02/2025

It appears that CodingClass.app have just responded to my Trustpilot review. (just over 2 months!)

They say they have no connection with the things I mentioned, and asked me to contact their support team. I wil not be doing that.

The questions still remain. Why and how was CodingClass, linked to the facebook competition. Why did a payment for a delivery charges, from my bank get paid to CodingClass. Then why did I get signed up to a CodingClass course? Oh yes and why did the CodingClass website crash all Cancellation webpages and NOT let me cancel. (used their sent email address to cancel).

To many links to be a mistake. Nothing identied or indicated anything to do with CodingClass or courses. They were hiding in the background and therefore the only explanation is, IT'S A SCAM.

This is a scam

This is a scam. I was sent an email purporting to be from ther RAC with a survey offering a reward. I paid £2 for postage and discovered I had been signed up to codingclass.app - presumably they will try to charge my card subscription fees.

Unknowingly signed up

Stupidly, I took part in a competition to win a McLaren racing jacket. The fee was £2.... Having filled in my details I then found that I was signed up to codingclass.app. I have never heard of them or wanted to sign up to them! Nothing in the competition led me to believe I was signing up for anything. I then realised, very quickly, that it was just a 5 day trial followed by a monthly subscription of £74. I immediately sent them an email asking what was happening etc....in fact I sent them 3 emails. I also went on to their website and followed the steps to cancel the subscription.
This was on the 4th and I have still not heard a word from them.
Moral of the story, don't enter competitions online!!
