I had the privilege of being tutored by two exceptional tutors, Vino and Lorna, at Cogsci Tutoring from 2022 to 2023. I genuinely believe I wouldn’t have achieved an A in A-Level Biology without their support.

The transition from GCSE to A-Level was a significant challenge, especially as part of the cohort that didn’t sit GCSE exams and faced lockdown during Year 12. This greatly impacted my learning, and I had to adapt and essentially relearn the subject over time — a process that wasn’t easy.

What sets Cogsci tutors apart is their ability to connect deeply with the subject matter while also instilling a genuine enthusiasm for biology. They balance conceptual understanding with exam preparation, which gave me the confidence to not only grasp difficult topics but also apply them in unfamiliar contexts — an essential skill for anyone pursuing a career in STEM or the biological sciences.

Vino, in particular, was more than just a tutor — he was a mentor. I felt comfortable sharing my academic journey, including the challenge of resitting my A-levels in 2023 to improve my grade from a B to an A, which I ultimately achieved thanks to his guidance.

Without Cogsci, I wouldn’t be completing my second year of Biomedical Sciences today; so I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for that potential A or A* they're working towards.

I was tutored by vino throughout A levels and can confidently say he is an excellent biology tutor. Lessons were a perfect mix of learning/consolidating topics as well as being highly engaging and interactive throughout. Vino would take time to ensure all topics were understood and when required would go back to further deepen understandings of topics. I started with Cogsci Tutoring for GCSE Biology and after noticing the difference Vinojan made in my learning, I continued with Cogsci throughout my A-Levels.
I found Vinojan to be immensely helpful throughout the years. His knowledge, combined with his ability to explain difficult topics, certainly improved my grades massively. I also found that lessons were engaging and interactive, making me truly interested in learning more and develop a deeper understanding. Vinojan is attentive and ensures that lessons are tailored to the needs of the student, prioritising areas which I found particularly challenging, and always adapted the pace to my learning style, making sure I was confident in each topic. What I particularly like is that he is very friendly and patient - always open to answer any questions and creates a welcoming atmosphere during lessons.
Another thing to note is that Cogsci offers lessons focusing on Mindset, Study Skills and Habits, which sets them apart from other tutors. This has not only enhanced my Biology skills, but by providing valuable guidance in other study skills, it has equipped me with the ability to succeed in all aspects of my education. Thanks to Cogsci Tutoring, I achieved great results at both GCSEs and A-Levels and I would certainly recommend to other students!

As a parent of a student who’s taking an A-level Biology. I am lucky enough to find a tutor for my son, Gabriel, that is as brilliant and as concern as Vino of Cogsci Tutoring. After scavenging the internet for a tutor which is hard in this difficult times. I came across Vino, who’s only concern is to help his students wellbeing, understand what they are learning, it’s application, be good at it, and nothing more.

I was tutored by Vino for A level biology for a year. I found that Vino always made an effort to ensure the lessons were engaging and that I understood all the content thoroughly, he was happy to go over topics multiple times to make sure I was confident in the knowledge. The use of past paper questions once we finished learning a topic helped me to consolidate my knowledge and go over any weaker areas leading up to my exams.
Every week, Vino would carry out a mindset, study skills and habits session these were super helpful in figuring out my strengths and weaknesses, boosting my confidence, and discovering new revision techniques that suit me best. It also helped me to focus on aspects of my lifestyle such as sleep which can be neglected during exam season and can be very important in helping to reach optimum performance in the exams.

This is what I believe sets Cogsci tutoring apart from other tutors as it aims to support the student in a holistic manner.

I have been a student at Cogsci tutoring for over a year during the run-up to my A level biology exams. I found that my tutor was very engaging, which made lessons seem fun and effective, and friendly, which made it easy to ask questions that would allow my tutor to recognise my areas of weakness and address them instantly in order to make sure I fully understood the topic. Despite having lessons online, it felt no different to being face to face. My tutor was always able to make time for me when needed and was flexible in rearranging lessons to suit my schedule.
