Terrible business

It's almost $5 to wash and dry a single load, but the machines are so small, what should be 1 load, fills 2 of these tiny machines, so nearly $10 a load. Then the machines cause damage to your laundry and the dryer never fully dries your laundry. Half the machines smell like dead animals. This company is awful at providing the service they exist to provide. They make living anywhere where their service is provided so much worse to live. It's just laundry machines, figure your business out.

Slow response to repair requests

Dryer stopped working on Friday early in the afternoon. I called and was told that they were opening a high priority ticket.
Received an email confirmation of the ticket on Friday in the mid afternoon.
It's Wednesday and the dryer still isn't fixed.
I called and was told that "a repair tech should be there today."
5 days is not 'high priority'.

This company is dishonest

This company is dishonest. They take seniors' money without reason and claim the contract has expired, refusing to return prepaid funds.

I would rate "0 " if there were options.

Extremely disappointed with Coinamatic

I’m extremely disappointed with Coinamatic, the way this business handles service disruptions. I paid for a timed machine service, and during my session, a power outage occurred. When power resumed, the machine did not resume the timer — meaning I lost the time I paid for.

When I contacted support, I was told that since it was a "facility issue" and not a "machine issue," no refund would be given. That’s unacceptable.

From a customer's perspective, there is no difference — I paid for a service, and I did not receive what I paid for. The machine should be equipped to resume or recover the session after a brief power outage. Deflecting responsibility and making the customer chase down management at the location is frustrating and unfair.

If you expect customers to keep paying for your services, you should ensure they work consistently — and when they don’t, the bare minimum should be accountability.

This app has been set up to remove…

This app has been set up to remove double the amount you want to upload. This morning I put $30 and they debited $60.
When I called their customer service lady said they could not refund the money. Applications are set up by people. It has been set to have double deductions. It's not fair for you to refuse to refund my money and instead all she did was cut off the phone. When you are selling your services you want everyone to use the card system and not the cards but if you are devising this as a means to cheat your clients or rob them then that is not fair. And for one to cut off the phone is quite unfair and disrespectful. Don't put apps to indirectly rob your clients of funds.

I cannot name a single business I hate…

I cannot name a single business I hate enough to write a review for besides coinamatic. Double charges when loading into my card, double charging when starting the machines, and a horrible job at the only thing I expect it to do: cleaning clothes. I wish the worst for this company.

I'm not sure why they are in business

They don't provide refunds for the laundry card if you need to return it. Transferring balances between cards isn't allowed. There's a $0.25 fee for reloading funds, and the machines are old and frequently malfunction, therefore we have to run the dryers multiple times.

I have never experienced such horrible…

I have never experienced such horrible customer service. I had to email them 5 times just to get a response about a sign that was still up about a free wash and dry They were so unhelpful and basically told me too bad! I will not be using their services in my building again.

One star. If I could give zero, I would.…

The laundry machine in my apartment building has been broken for over six months.

I’ve called Coinamatic multiple times to report it. My neighbors have also called. My boyfriend has called several times too. Every time we reach out to our landlord, we’re told to call Coinamatic — and still, after half a year, the machine is broken.

Coinamatic claims a technician has come out — but we’ve never seen anyone. At least twice we’ve been told a tech came and fixed it, which is clearly not true. When a service order is issued, we get automated email updates like:
“The technician is coming today.”
“The technician has arrived.”
“The technician has solved the problem.”
“The technician has left.”

My boyfriend works from home. I have neighbors who also work from home. Every time a service ticket comes through, they watch the window all day, checking to see if anyone shows up. And no one ever does. So either the technician is a ghost, or they’re lying and marking the job as done without ever coming.

The issue? You put coins in, the machine eats them, and… nothing happens. Even if you add more money, it still doesn’t start. Coinamatic sends a refund check in the mail, but that doesn’t solve the actual problem.

I think a tech might have come once to “fix” it, but did they even bother putting coins in to test it? Because if they did, they’d know it still doesn’t work.

Also — one of the dryers in the building completely died. Coinamatic replaced it, but the new dryer doesn’t dry. Even on the highest setting, with like six pieces of clothing, after a full hour your clothes come out damp.

At this point I’m genuinely asking — does this company just hate us??

The machines are coin-operated, so we have to constantly scrounge for change just to do laundry, and then we risk losing our money. With only one washer and now one dryer that actually dries, doing laundry in this building has become a nightmare.

This has been one of the main reasons I’ve wanted to move — but because of the housing crisis, we’re stuck. (I’m assuming that this could be a ploy to get people who are paying lower rent to move out?)

We deserve working machines and actual customer service. Coinamatic, do better. Seriously.

My parents own a 6 plex apartment…

My parents own a 6 plex apartment building, and have had Coinamatic for well over 50 years. They are getting old, and I, their child, am taking over. I realize I should have gotten involved long ago. This lousy company keeps deteriorating at a very fast pace, possibly when it went from a private family owned business in 2013 to its new form. They are gypsies and thieves! My mom has had very many cheques that were mailed go mysteriously missing! 🤦‍♀️ We suspect an inside job. When she calls accounting, they don’t seem to be in that day. Yeah right! 😡. They never call back. We advised them to end this dysfunctional relationship and go elsewhere and buy the machines instead of renting. Good Riddance Coinamatic! 🤡

The WORST laundry service I have ever…

The WORST laundry service I have ever had the displeasure of using.
My question is why doesn't Coinomatic do anything to resolve and improve their almost 0 rating they have been given by so many consumer reviews.
Your washing machine detergent drawers don't empty properly and are full of mold, the clothes don't even wash properly, and your app and card machine are from 1901.

OK, but needs improvement

bad service

The laundry card machine was not working to add funds. There was a note saying Coinamatic had been advised. I have no funds on my card. I called them and it appears the app is not set up in my building (despite signage). I currently have three loads of wet laundry, with no means of drying, and no means of washing the next load and no help from the company. I wanted to load the card over the phone, but they do not allow for this. I’ve been waiting for a call from a manager for more than two hours. This company does not care about the service they provide (or in this case, do not provide). They have raised service fees and costs to the consumer, but not upped their services. This is my second experience with this exact same issue. My plans for the day are on hold until this is resolved and I am only more frustrated with every activity I have to cancel today. You can do better Coinamatic.

Coinamatic is a unscrupulous company from the US!

Coinamatic is a unscrupulous company.
They don't show the right costs, or time they give on their machines. They leave notices up that say they give more time for cost but then they charge more on the cars or app.
Machines are always breaking down and never replaced.
My laundry costs have tripled in the last two years and the service has gotten worse.
Plus it's a US company getting paid for electricity and water that our Province is supplying.
It's unfair and greedy business practices are criminal.

Thoroughly disgusted with the thievery…

Thoroughly disgusted with the thievery of this co. Aside from exorbitant prices, and gouging with debit fees, they refused to refund a balance on a lost card, stating that it is their policy not to issue any refunds. Although their card does state that the loaded value is non-refundable, it is counter intuitive to how any normal business operates.

Coinamatic is a Scam

Absolutely the worst laundry service provider in Canada. Their machines are horrible—constantly breaking down, eating money, and leaving clothes half-washed. The customer service is even worse—rude, unhelpful, and they just don’t care about fixing anything. When you call for assistance, they either ignore you or give excuses without solving the issue.

It feels like they are just robbing people with overpriced, unreliable machines that rarely work properly. If you live in a building that uses Coinamatic, good luck—you’ll be wasting money and time dealing with their terrible service. Avoid them if you can!
