I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with this pair of shoes, which I used for the first time today after purchase. Unfortunately, this has been one of the most disappointing footwear experiences I’ve had in recent years.

I purchased this shoe for two main reasons:

1. I already own two other formal shoes from your brand, which I continue to use. They are comfortable, well-made, and have reliable soles.
2. This model was marketed as a hiking shoe, yet with a less bulky design, making it suitable for semi-casual office wear as well.

However, my very first day of use was extremely poor. While commuting from home to my office in London, I slipped multiple times—on train platforms, tube stations, and wet pavements. For a shoe advertised as a hiking boot, this lack of traction in typical wet city conditions is completely unacceptable.

To be clear, this is not a low-cost product. I own several pairs of shoes from brands such as Merrell, Timberland, Salomon all of which perform far better in similar conditions. Even a non-specialist boot I own from “Boss” provides noticeably better grip than this pair. The point may be Merrell or Solomon specialize in hiking shoes, but here I am talking about city walk and not a rough hiking terrain. And point to be noted is brand like “Boss” is more of fashion brand doesn’t even qualify to be a specialized shoe maker. Also it’s not that I am using Cole Haan for the first time. This has been the most frustrating aspect of this experience.

Had this been an inexpensive £40 shoe, I might have been more forgiving. But given the price point and the way this product is marketed, its inability to handle basic wet urban walking conditions makes it feel like a complete waste of money.
I do not feel safe wearing this shoe and do not intend to use it again.

Much as i found the shoe soles very comfortable,when i have purchased them,i was misled by your size comparison between EU,UK and usa's sizing.
UK size 9 not being available i remember having read that usa size 10 is the equivalent of UK size 9..it is not,so i am walking with a size bigger shoes that makes me look awful.
I will never buy shoes from yankees ever again!

Cole Haan is a very nice product with a nice quality and design, very comfortable, good service and deliver in time, i recommended without hesitation.

I love Cole Haan shoes, my zerogrand trainers are going strong after 3 years! I put them in the washing machine and they are as fresh as new. I’ve now got 4 pairs of various styles and about to treat myself to summer sliders. The make and sole technology is incredible- perfect for long days walking and super stylish too.

I am a big fan of Cole Haan shoes. The sizing is perfect, not too small not too big. The shoes are always comfortable. The style works for me because I commute 2 hours per day and need something smart but comfortable. These fit the bill. I bought chukka style boots with the sneaker sole. I have been buying Cole Haan shoes in California for many years as they fit me perfectly and I always find them comfortable. I still wear them even the ones that are over 10 years old. I buy their white trainers every year there. My husband bought me some ankle boots from the UK site. He is a fan too. They arrived quickly but I had to go down a size as the site said 9.5 was a uk7 but were too big. Anyway the size 9 were perfect. When I saw the tall ones at an excellent discount I bought them and a pair of socks. However they were really stiff and too wide. I was really disappointed and have returned them as they hindered my knee bending. I was also sad to see the socks full price in UK was £24 but were marked $18! That’s a big mark up. Maybe I shall just have to but in USA. The discounts are fabulous there too.
Please check your sizing as I’m sure it can’t just be me. The service was 5* with extremely quick delivery and free returns.

I did struggle with the sizing. Even though you make it clear, it somehow isn't clear and I find I have to triple check to make sure I order the right size.
