Horrific customer experience

COMC recently ran a promotion where you received $5.99 in shipping credit for purchasing a certain number of cards.
They delayed the payout of this promotion (including editing their original promotion after it had meant to be paid out) until they released their much higher, new shipping pricing model. The credit from the promotion went from paying for the shipping to barely covering a quarter of the shipping cost.

This changed without notice and their customer support has refused to provide any care for their customers.

Deceptive Practices, Slow Service

After advertising a reasonable shipping rate and all items indicating $0.00 additional shipping/handling, surprise fees were added. You either never get to receive your items or give in and pay. If you want to minimize the surprise expense, you can take a slower service with a "bulk shipping rate" of $19.99 that slows shipment down by 1.5 months.

This is incredibly deceptive and disappointing.

Great for this Aussie

I'm from Australia and bought a host of 90s insert cards from COMC to finish off sets I was missing specific cards.

I took the time to choose the correct quality card and am very happy with what I got (albeit 3 weeks after placing order but I'm in Aus right?).

The equivalent cards on eBay were far more expensive & more difficult to find so for me COMC was a great experience, highly recommended. Very impressed with this service as a buyer.

Stick with Ebay

All the cards I requested have top loaders added before shipping had corner damage. Over $150 in cards ruined. They took a card out of my inventory because the seller priced it and then complained they priced it too low. Just poof, the card is gone and email. Terrible customer service and would stay away from them. Use EBay, at least you have buyer protection - COMC won’t do anything.

Love the service and opportunities in creates.

Love the service and opportunities it gives to collectors, buyers, sellers from all over the world. As a non-US collector, COMC is awesome and helps in so many ways. Been using the site for around 6 years. The only thing I wish was different is the 10% cashout fee. But, I guess we have to live with it as it is obvious they would prefer the money circling on the platform.

Expensive!

Expensive!! And overall a terrible experience, my mcdavid auto has a chip in its psa case after waiting 3 months. Right on the guys face. My shipment of him home is now over 2 weeks late with a day being added on every single day. Still 140,000 ahead of me. Seem to only be doing 10,000 orders a week. Just give me a realistic date and stop pushing it back. Way too expensive for the terrible service. Epack and comc are done for me and they are 1/10 for me. Support your local hobby shop. All comc does is drive the price of cards down because no one is on there. My card should be in my hands and instead it’s not even close to being shipped and has a phony shipment date on it. Sell on here if you want bottom dollar for your cards and want to wait a year to receive anything off of there.

I prefer comc to ebay

I prefer comc to ebay. Payout request to paypal is fast, max $35 auction fee, batch shipping, 50 cents per standard listing so DO NOT SEND LOW VALUE CARDS. Low reviews are one timers.

COMC Bait and Switch - 2024 Topps Finest Shohei Ohtani Rare Blue Refractor /99

My experience with COMC Consignment so far has been this: I purchased a Shohei Ohtani 2024 Topps Finest Rare Blue Refractor numbered /99 for $147.78 on Ebay. The issue arose when the listing differed from the card pictured, which was that of the Light Blue Refractor variant which is numbered /150 for the rare series. I didn't realize this until after the purchase, and, of course, I was shipped the less rare Light Blue Refractor variant while paying the price I should have paid for the more rare Blue Refractor variant. Their customer service basically is telling me that it is my responsibility to read the listing carefully before placing the order, and that I am in the wrong. Absolutely horrible, and a clear bait and switch tactic. I will chase this done through Ebay and make sure I get a refund, but as it stands right now, COMC is telling me to pound sand when it is clear that they are in the wrong and should simply refund me and have me send the card back. Will update if anything changes.

UPDATE: Resolved but took 3 weeks to finally end this. Refunded and returned. Not before multiple volleys via Ebay chat where I was accused of not reading the listing properly. Shameful performance by their customer service. Absolute F score and I will never do business with COMC again. Ever.

Comc.com is a great way to sell cards

Comc.com is a great way to sell cards. I've been using them for years with no problem. The negative reviews here are from people who clearly don't understand how to use the service.

I send them all my the cards I find that are worth more than three dollars - they charge 50 cents to scan and upload them. These cards sell and I use the funds to get a single graded card. Rinse and repeat.

Of course they'll charge you to ship items from your account. That takes labor, materials, and postage. The rates are fair and it's speedy enough - these are just baseball cards, not heart medication.

They do all the work. It's by far the easiest and most profitable way to sell baseball cards.

Bad customer service and quality of cards.

I purchased a card that evidently came out of a screwdown case. There were 3 corners that had dimples from the holder. They said I should have zoomed in and found the defects and that they don't issue refunds or compensation on manufacturer defects. It's not a manufacture defect. It's a screwdown case. They refuse to do anything. Any company that is alright with slighting customers and just generally selling a inferior product is just disgraceful and basically they are ok with treating customers with disdain. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but it was the only way to leave this review. 77% of their reviews are unsatisfactory. The review box has a caption that reads."what's the problem now" so evidently they have alot of unsatisfactory reviews. BUYER BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

COMC not only refuses to ship you your…

COMC not only refuses to ship you your cards back the same year you purchase them, they also hold your cards hostage until you pay an upcharge to get your cards mailed back to you.

This is probably the worst place on the internet to buy cards. This is the only site that takes longer than a grading company to mail cards. This company has pushed back every estimated shipping date they have ever given me.

Any company should find it ridiculous to not be able to ship the items purchased by their customers the same month the customer purchases the items. How is this company not been sued into bankruptcy?

Holding my cards hostage until you pay you AGAIN for shipping? I need to pay an upcharge to get my cards back to me this year. How insane is that?

This company is a joke

This company is a joke! They're 3 months behind on shipping orders and have all sorts of excuses as to why. Customer service just dismisses your concerns and says shipping times are "estimated"... okay, fine, if it's a couple of days but several months is inexcusable.

scam company

scam company. they wont send your cards back to you unless you pay for expedited shipping. you will just keep getting pushed back and back further in the line. everything to them is about nickel and diming customers. fees for everything. shipping charges that anyone would consider ridiculous. months for waiting for items that you own. customer service is a joke and slow to respond if they even do. avoid this company like grim death. do not fall for YouTube influencers that they bribe. they are a scam and do not care about collectors in the slightest.
