Catfish of commercial construction leads…
I purchased a ConstructConnect Project Intelligence subscription for my construction company on or about May 28, 2026. We perform site development, earthwork, and underground utility work in Southwest Florida. I purchased the service primarily to access relevant private-sector bidding opportunities within a reasonable distance of our Cape Coral office.
After using the service, It's 98% public, state, fed work that i can solicit for free by registering with those agencies. I got it for private commercial leads. I found very few commercially practical private opportunities in our market and requested cancellation in July 2026. ConstructConnect refused, stating I was “locked in for 12 months.”
ConstructConnect first stated there were 35 relevant private projects and later claimed approximately 70 private Division 31 and 33 projects had been available since I subscribed. I repeatedly requested the historical project list supporting that claim so I could verify what qualifying private opportunities were actually available between signup and my July cancellation request. They have not provided it.
Instead, ConstructConnect told me to include “Pre-Construction/Negotiated” projects and sent a screenshot of 35 CURRENT projects. That does not answer my request for historical data. Their screenshot also illustrates the problem: only about two projects appear to be roughly one hour from our Cape Coral office, while many others are about two hours or more away each way, including projects in Bradenton. For a sitework/utility contractor mobilizing crews, trucks, and heavy equipment, those are not commercially equivalent to local opportunities.
ConstructConnect also claimed a representative attempted to contact me several times in July, but I found no related emails or voicemails. I asked for the dates, methods, and contact information used, and that information was not provided.
This is not buyer’s remorse. I raised the issue shortly after subscribing, requested cancellation, and repeatedly asked ConstructConnect to substantiate its claims. I am attaching my screenshots and correspondence for review.
