Very nice dns service provider with smartdns proxy possibilities

Once you understand the app it's quick and easy to use. Its tools for error resolution are very welcome.

I spend too much time switching DNS on my phone because ControlD will unnecessarily filter legitimate hostnames. It breaks some apps like the checkout for fast food. I'm sure it would be better if I spent a bunch of time investigating and whitelisting. However, I don't have that time.

I’ve been a ControlD customer for a few years now, and I’m very satisfied with the service. The blocking and filters are effective, the anycast is efficient, and changing countries by service works in 90% of cases. For the remaining 10%, it’s easy to create custom rules. The new dashboard is much better than the previous one. At the very beginning of my subscription, I had to contact customer service, and they were very responsive! Keep up the good work.

Was a previous user of NextDNS but they stopped actively developing their services so I hopped on ControlDNS also because of it's redirect services and it helped me out tremendously. I would definitely recommend using this service.

I tried Control D a few years ago through a free trial of Full Control and I was hooked. Got a great 5-year Some Control deal for myself and 2 friends via Stack Social with an option to upgrade to Full Control which we all did immediately. We've been used CD to access geo-locked content and websites with great success.

CD servers can be used on directly on routers and streaming devices which is so helpful, especially for AppleTV users.

Going to be keeping CD Full Control for the forseeable future.

Fantastic DNS! I have been using it for a while and am extremely happy. First of all, it's fast. Then, it's very flexible because you can create different profiles and different devices and assign/change profiles to devices at will and on-the-fly. Profile settings already include pre-sets of services (for news, streaming, gaming, hosting, social...) which you can block or redirect, on top of curated blocklists for ads, phishing, malware and other things you most probably don't want to access to. It's all more friendly and flexible than NextDNS for example, which in itself is also very good. The cherry on top is custom location redirect for video streaming like BBC iPlayer, RaiPlay, RTVE, France TV, etc. So you can watch tv streaming of your country while abroad. That's awesome. They advertise this only as a best-effort service and it is not officially supported, but I can say that so far it's working very well! So much better than other services which advertise this as a core offering. I'm loving ControlD!

Super easy to use. I like their UI a lot more than every other service and the support has been great for me. Really happy with the update schedule too, they constantly push out new stuff.

Easily the best DNS service our there, fast, reliable and tons of features. Been even seeing them come out as best malware blocking DNS from public tests online. If you want visibility on what devices on your network are doing in an easy to use product, theyre the best, and I've tried most of them.

I love Control D. Control D completely replaced my organizations expensive and hard to maintain hardware filtering system. My team has mentioned repeatedly how much they prefer administering Control D over our legacy system.

It was extremely easy to onboard all of our endpoints and devices. I can see what it's doing for my organization using the analytics tool and the reports it generates. Most importantly the filters are easy to use and "just work" without any hassle.

I recommend using Control D to my friends, family and associates in business for these reasons!

Very excellent Dns service. I use nextdns and adguard before and they were very bad with latency from Japan. I started using Controld 2 month ago and it has been very good. Today they released a new website and panel which is very nice and asked me to post a review.

I block ads, porn, bad websites that have malware and it works very good. Installing Controld on router was very easy and it has nice feature like sending hostnames and mac addresses with dns queries which provides for very good stats.

A+ service and I told 3 other people to use it.

Im a small MSP and recently switched from DNSfilter after speaking to you guys at ASCII Toronto (Yegor gave an excellent presentation that really woke me up).

I find Control D quite excellent for what we need. Very easy to onboard especially once I discovered Barry chatbot, and sorry for wasting your time in the call. Filtering works as expected and I didnt see any false positives which is a welcome thing coming from DNSfilter where it was a daily occurrence.

Web panel is very user friendly but all the complexity is still there its just hidden away unless you need it which I find very refreshing.

On cons side... I can't think of anything major. The statistics section could use a bit more detail and make it a bit easier to find things but im just nitpicking.

All in all a great DNS service.

I've been using Control D for going on three years. While there have been rare hiccups the staff are serious about trying to fix issues, and improving the user experience.

My main use case is managing my home network, and Control D makes it extremely easy to block access to malicious actors, and blocking stuff like ads/tracking.

The dashboard design currently isn't optimal, but I also don't need to frequently use it so it's not a major concern.
Control D is very "Set it and forget it" if you use reasonable filtering.

Latency/speed is top tier, and they're consistently expanding/improving their infrastructure to improve the user experience/reliability.

I didnt know how to set up a Pihole, Control D is so much easier and more powerful...

Control D is a game changer that is extremely easy to set up and comes with very intuitive dashboards. To date, I have no complaints and recommend it to anyone in the market for a DNS solution.

I've been using CD for several years, definitely consider myself an OG. It's an awesome product. I never really think about my filters/blocklists anymore, it all "just works" and yet I rarely see ads or other bad stuff on the internet. Exactly what I want from a DNS service.

Control D is a great DNS service. I've been using them since they were in beta and bought a subscription because of how responsive their staff is. I highly recommend you at least give their free DNS resolvers a try.

I was asked to post here, so here I am. Been using Controld for close to a year now and have no complaints. Easy to use, blocks annoying ads and malware quite effectively and saved my butt a few times (from not having to reinstall my senior parents computers because they clicked on some BS link).

Performs is the same as Cloudflare so thats pretty good too.

I've been a user of Control-D for several months, and our company also resells their product via their MSP Program.

DNS Filtering is one of the easiest ways to not only secure and protect your networks, but also protect your privacy. Control-D just works, period. Their support is hands down AMAZING (what other company has their CEO replying to emails at 2am?) and open to suggestion and feature updates. Comparing this to other options like AdGuard DNS or NextDNS , I find that Control-D really does shine with extra features like redirecting queries to other locations or allowing you to simply block/redirect certain services.
