As an experienced writer navigating the…

As an experienced writer navigating the industry for over a decade, I've unfortunately encountered the most frustrating plagiarism and AI detection tool in my career. Each time I revise my work, this tool inexplicably flags different content, which is not only baffling but also incredibly disruptive to my workflow.

Last Thursday, I raised a ticket to address these persistent issues, only to receive an automated response. Nearly a week has passed, and still, there’s been no resolution from their support team, leaving me feeling neglected and unheard.

To complicate matters, my clients are insisting that I rely on this flawed tool without question. Despite providing them with three separate reports from Copyleaks indicating the consistency of the content, they remain unconvinced and deaf to my concerns. It's utterly exhausting, draining my time, energy, and finances. I find myself checking each piece of content multiple times - often 8 to 9 iterations - just to appease my clients.

I can’t stress this enough: please think carefully before investing your hard-earned money in subpar tools like this one. It’s been nothing short of a headache.

Would give 0 stars if I could

Would give 0 stars if I could. It is so hypersensitive that it has flagged writing of mine that was written before the existence of generative ai. Fake ai detector, needs to go bankrupt.

Terrible Detector

Probably one of if not the worst ai detectors out there. No matter what you put it it marks it as AI and ive tested it multiple times.

Unreliable, fake, dangerous

Completely useless, fake AI detector, flags everything as AI even when it's clearly not.

Long explanation:
I've tested it by inserting first 3 AI generated texts, flagged them as AI, then I thought "ok this might work".
Inserted 5 texts that I wrote myself, flagged them as AI, which is dumb because none of it was AI in any way.
Then I've decided to copy paste very bad slurs that AI will refuse to say under any circumstance, a single slur repeated over 300 times, flagged it as AI (when AI can't even say that stuff).

Flags Everything Recently

This past week, this detector has been flagging everything as AI, I even check personal emails I sent my family. How can this service be even allowed to get used by businesses?! This is ridicilous.

The most inaccurate AI detector!

The most inaccurate AI detector!! I encourage everyone to use zerogpt. This one is completely useless. And the 5-star ratings it has sound generic AF, so I'm 100% sure they are not from legit users.

0% accuracy. Not reliable…

I think this Ai detector is just promoting itself as the most accurate one. But the accuracy is zero. Out of 10 human written articles, 9 are flagged as AI. How can this detector be so reliable. I just don't understand what are your parameters and how do you check. I think they are just fooling people. Even a simple line is detected as AI. Rubbish. Companies should not rely on Copyleaks.

Abysmal and broken

Abysmal. The software just doesn’t work. A simple sentence structure used in everyday sentence will get flagged. Furthermore they have an egregious refund policy, if you use a single credit (which you’ll have if you don’t do your due diligence and have to find out first hand it doesn’t work) they don’t offer refunds irrespective of if you want to cancel 2 minutes after subscription. Stay away do not use. (If you run the positive reviews on this site through copyleaks it’ll declare it Ai. Take what you will from that)

Completely abhorrent piece of software

Completely abhorrent piece of software. I pride myself in not using AI to write, and I even turn down offers to cut corners by using it, instead opting to do everything by hand. It takes more time, more effort, and has often even been detrimental to my health for particularly large projects. The last large-scale project I did was exactly one such case.

Now, an SEO firm has gaslit this previous client into believing I have rephrased AI to write a good chunk of my pieces for them. Essentially, any part that even barely uses phrasing or language above the lowest common denominator is AI now. Great.

Even worse, its findings are ridiculous – a combination of three words (!) is used about 40 times out of 1,000,000, as opposed to the supposed standard of 3 times per 1,000,000.

How does that even remotely prove anything? That's 0.004%! A rarer word or phrasing does NOT equate to AI plagiarism, and it seems to only focus on individual parts. Some of it is absolutely ridiculous – like "users are." It seemingly does not factor in context.

The way the software is designed is super deceitful as well, seemingly presenting its – at best – uneven findings as factual truth.

That, to me, is outright evil, and implies an active push to mislead customers, and not just a problem of poor communication.

Trust your writers and find better ways to evaluate them, or get out of the industry.

I wrote my paper in 1900 words

I wrote my paper in 1900 words, copyleaks dare to mark only my original thoughts and references as AI. I am not even from America and I feel intimidated from trying my best to study, and seeing this ridiculousity. I am not using any helper AI, and I DONT HAVE TO dumb down my text. I am paying TAXES in this country, paying the COLLEGE, for them to pay to copyleaks, to keep me awake at night proving I am not a bot? How references are marked as AI? The system is broken enough. I am paying for everything, can’t get the free access to basic needs, and also must explain myself for my thought process. It is the same SCAM as an insurance companies, just making things harder for already hard working people. Insane. Doesn't matter how hard you work-things not getting better. They always coming up with new SCAM ideas. Now I have to go to work in 1 hour, riding these nasty subway, for them to collect more taxes. Great economy and education?? No, it is concentration camp.

Very Unreliable?

Our school has recently implemented Copyleaks and it is very unreliable, its almost like there is no real detection and the whole website is a fraud. My writing was alright but a lot of my classmates had ridiculous results. I literally witnessed some of them rush the writing during breaks just before the due time. It was picking up phrases like "playful cat, and" as AI generated which is totally absurd. There are tons of free AI detectors that are far more reliable (though not completely) than Copyleaks.

Wish I could give it a zero

Wish I could give it a zero. A written from scratch document shows 100% Ai despite other checkers indicating 0%. The more I paraphrase, the more Ai content there is!
Such a crappy site

One star is even too much; I wish there was an option for zero

The AI detection was a complete joke. I thought upgrading my account would finally give me the reliable results I needed, but it was the same old crap. Dropped a ton of cash on this subscription, used just 9 credits, and then realized what a massive rip-off this was. And now, no refunds at all? What a scam!

Very helpful

Ben from Copyleaks had two suggestions for how to solve my issue, and the first one I tried worked. There was also an option to reach out in case those suggestions did not work.
