Methadone mile

They 'found' a hotel in Boston for a business trip which turned out to be on 'Methadone Mile'. Even the taxi drivers were asking 'Who booked you in here?' They didn't even confirm our booking with the hotel, so the receptionist had no trace of it when we arrived. They had apparently emailed a credit card number and presumably hoped that someone would secure the booking but clearly no check was done. Just awful.

Book anywhere but corptraveller.co.uk

For a business designed to offer travel for businesses, it's shocking how badly this place is run. Their web portal is flaky, needing us always to email or call to get bookings made - at a higher rate due to them being done manually than automatically through their web portal. I believe this is the business arm of Flight Centre, but I think they're stuck in the past.

1) Their prices are not competitive, and you will always find cheaper flights and hotels else-where
1a) A lot of our staff have somehow pushed for a change of price when we question why they're finding it so high - suddenly there's that cheaper flight found earlier that day...

2) Unlike other providers, their search for flights and hotels is shocking - you need to be very specific on their platform as to dates and times, which results in all of our team looking at booking.com or Skyscanner for availability first and then using the corp traveller portal to complete. So "ease of use" is not baked in.

3) You cannot make any changes to a booking directly through airlines or hotels due to the way in which they operate - 9 of our staff have had issues in the past 12 months, 3 of which being stuck abroad as no one answered the 24*7 line out of UK working hours.

4) They sell flights and hotels that benefit them over you if you give them carte blanche to do the searching - some of the flights the team have taken this year are crazy, and the hotels they offer are either so highly-priced you'd be forgiven to think our sales team are having second honeymoons or wouldn't force your worst enemy to stay in.

I'd stay clear - the only team who benefits here is the finance team who get a consolidated bill every month. However, many other providers now do this and access to work credit cards would be better for cost-effectiveness, value for money and quality of experience for those who need to travel for work.
