I had an extremely disappointing experience with CosmeticsLab. After being acquired by a new company, the quality of service dropped significantly. They ignored our instructions, failed to provide updates, and refused to refund the product development amount we paid. Eventually, we contacted Peter Shippen, but he stopped responding entirely. It feels like a scam, and I am thoroughly dissatisfied with how everything was handled. I would not recommend working with them.

One of the worst business experiences we’ve ever had.

We partnered with Cosmetics Lab for a product development project, and it ended up costing us our entire startup. What was supposed to be a 12-week project dragged on for over 40 weeks with no resolution. Delays, complete lack of communication, poor leadership, and repeated failure to follow basic instructions led to zero deliverables despite full payment.

Even after multiple team changes and a merger on their side, we received products that were completely off-brief. Their mismanagement and negligence not only burned our budget and timeline but also cost us an investor and ultimately killed our startup before we could launch.

Following the merger, Peter Shippen took over as director. We reached out multiple times under his leadership, hoping for accountability or at least a conversation. Instead, our emails were ignored, and no efforts were made to resolve the damage or acknowledge the harm done. His silence spoke volumes about the company’s values and how they treat clients once things go wrong.

We have spent over a year trying to get a refund or resolution, with no success. It has been emotionally and financially devastating.

Startups, small brands, anyone hoping to build something with care: Avoid this company!!!

I have been trying to work with cosmetics lab for over a year now, I think the staff are to busy to work on your project.

You get a lovely worded email but your no further forward, questions not answered, no proactivity.

I have been emailing since December 2023 to get updates on my project, no replies.

Emailed director asking for a refund March 24, again these emails have been ignored
