I have popped in to this shop on several occasions and not once have the staff smiled or acknowledged my presence or any other customer present.
It is a small quiet outlet and the desk directly faces the door, so there is no excuse for a lack of common courtesy eg a 'good morning' or smile.
Recently I visited and there were two members of staff at the desk and again no acknowledgement. I suppose at least they are consistent!
I suggest they pop in to the Garden Centre next door where staff are amazingly helpful and friendly in a much busier environment
