This is an interesting platform for getting into sports cards, etc. Bypass the endless opening of packs to find avg cards. Is this considered an alternate investing space…only time will tell.

Card came in broke.customer service rep…

Card came in broke.customer service rep told in so many words told me it was my fault because I didn’t get insurance but it was thrown in a simple bubble wrap envelope no other protection. Card was completely ruined and they only offered me 50 dollar credit on the app . Told me to waste more time and money and send it to cgc to get it re holder and see if the grade change then they will refund me the amount loss. So I have to jump through hoops to get the card I wanted but at a lower grade that was sent to me . I will not go through the hassle of playing the waiting game for cgc to tell me the card is bent . I will not use this app and I will advocate others not to use this app it’s was a horrible experience and I was so excited but left very disappointed.

Hi, we're sorry your card arrived damaged. We ship thousands of packages and work hard to ensure they arrive safely, but as with any physical items being shipped, carrier damage does happen on rare occasions. When it does, we do whatever we can to make you whole, which is why our team offered the credit to fully cover the CGC reholdering cost so that you could get the item back to its original condition with a brand new slab at no cost to yourself. We also made clear that if the damage went beyond the value of just the slab, due to a change in grade, we would also cover the cost of the lost value there too. Unfortunately there’s no way to know what that additional cost could be until it is re-reviewed, but in our experience an overwhelming majority of the time cards do come back at the same grade. We understand the process still felt like a hassle, and we're sorry the situation was frustrating. If you'd like help navigating it, or there’s anything else we can do for you, we're here at contact@courtyard.io.

Love the app but a lot of the updates…

Love the app but a lot of the updates recently have made it less appealing. I really like the original version.
Where booster packs were $10, not 15. You could buy packs with fewer points and ten dollar graded cards weren't constantly sold out

Legit

I’ve tried a few different virtual rip sites at this point, an Courtyard is by far my favorite. Maybe I’ll attribute that to some good luck with pulls, but honestly the whole experience is really great. The site and app are both extremely easy to use. The transparency with live odds makes me feel confident when pulling (and I have to say, in my small sample size, I have felt that I consistently get higher value pulls when the common odds are lower). I have redeemed two separate large orders from Courtyard and received my assets in perfect condition both times. I have had a few questions and reached out to support, and each time they were incredibly helpful and responsive.

If I had to ask for anything, I would ask for the following: (1) that the mobile app include recent sales when viewing a card’s page; and (2) that it becomes easier to add funds directly to wallet so I can bid on more marketplace items. I live in NY, so I have restrictions against certain crypto/blockchains.

Other than that, I’ve been genuinely happy with my experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you! - Mike

My thoughts.

What I've experienced, especially when it comes to other sites is courtyard has better odds and pull rates. I appreciate the variety of different packs. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. I like it, I keep coming back, competitors are clunky and odds are abysmal. The raffles and redemption points are a nice touch.

Long ship times

Cards said shipped for several days but were delayed and when received box was mangled and crushed, figured if I had to pay an additional charge to just ship my purchase it would come in a little bit better packaging or labels saying fragile.

The shipping screen would never work…

The shipping screen would never work properly on my phone. I tried multiple times to ship my prizes and it never worked so I was forced to sell them and withdraw the money. I ran out of trial packs and could not purchase packs anymore and tried to upgrade to whatever version I needed to and couldn't figure it out. I ultimately ended up giving up and deleting the app, complete waste of my time!

We want to be clear: thousands of members successfully ship their cards every day, so we are sorry this process did not work as expected for you. A smooth mobile experience is something we take seriously, and feedback like yours helps us identify where we can improve.

We would genuinely love the opportunity to have you give Courtyard another try. Honestly

Honestly, I’ve lost interest in the site. It used to be fun when you had about a 45–55% shot at hitting a card worth more than I paid for it. Now, there’s a 70–85% chance I’ll either lose or barely break even and that’s before fees.

I’ll still log in here and there to rack up points and open a free pack when I can, but it’s worth remembering: people need to win sometimes. That’s what keeps them coming back. Without customers, there is no platform. Improve the odds for your customers, or at the very least bring back promotional offers with better odds like when the site first launched, whether that is throughout the day, once a week, or even monthly

It’s still a fun platform and a great concept, but for the average spender, it just isn’t for me.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We genuinely appreciate that it comes from a place of wanting the platform to be better, and we want to address your point directly.

We want to be clear: the expected average value of every pack has not changed, and has always equaled the exact amount that you pay for the pack. For example, a $50 will have items worth an average of $50 that come out of it. Our odds are statistically accurate and every single pull is publicly verifiable on the blockchain to ensure fairness. That said, we completely understand that variance can be a real part of the experience, both the highs and lows. A run of pulls that fall below expected value is entirely possible within normal statistical variance, and we know that can feel frustrating even when the underlying odds are consistent.

We strive to be the most transparent way to open packs in the industry, so all odds are clearly shown before each pull that tells you exactly what can come out of that pack when you purchase. If you ever have specific questions about how our odds work, please reach out to us at contact@courtyard.io, happy to chat through it further.

Company offers zero baseline insurance…

Company offers zero baseline insurance when shipping packages and offloads all the responsibility to the customers.
The current flow for this is deceiving and unintuitive. I’ve brought this up to customer support in the past and they’ve agreed this is a design flaw on their end.
If you lose a package, you’re screwed. Lost 1k worth of cards with nothing back on courtyards end

Edit: I see they’ve respond and would have you believe they are offering insurance when it’s just the default FedEx $100 included in their shipping. This is wild considering literally all of their competitors would refund or replace lost cards. Dopa, boxed.gg, etc.
Courtyard is just straight up cheaping out on shipping. Point blank

Thank you for taking the time to share this. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience losing cards in transit and we want to address your points directly.

We want to be clear: all shipments on Courtyard include baseline carrier insurance that covers damage up to $100. To keep costs and shipping fees as low as possible for all users, we don't require and additional coverage beyond that for users who do not want it.

For members who want additional protection, we also offer optional coverage at checkout. We are sorry if this was not communicated clearly during your experience and we understand how that could feel frustrating, particularly on a shipment of significant value.

If you'd like to discuss your particular situation any further, feel free to reach out to us directly at contact@courtyard.io and we will do everything we can to help.
