I have been a policyholder for many years but have made my first claim following a motor vehicle incident in the US. Claim processing was very efficient and I was pleased with the prompt settlement of my claim.

I was hospitalized in South Africa. I put my claim into Covermore last week and just received an email to say it had been accepted and the money would be in my nominated account within 3 days. Such speedy service. I always use Covermore when travelling as they are reliable and keep you informed.

This company is an absolute scam. A legal scam. I purchased travel insurance for Mexico on the 8th of may, and all was okay until I was called a day later by a representative telling me that I needed a further medical review, and the process involved refunding my $531 into a credit voucher which I would then be required to use to purchase a new policy. I did that, and received the new policy, but then I decided after reading so many shocking reviews online, and also after finding much cheaper insurance elsewhere, that I would exercise my right to cancel the policy and receive a refund in 48 hours. That’s where the trouble begins. The rep failed to inform me that by receiving a credit note (which I never wanted) I was forfeiting my right to that refund timeframe. I was now on an 8 week refund policy. So they’ll keep my money for 8 weeks until returning it.
I fought with Racheal, another rep, (I never get the same one), who after hours of arguments agreed to expedite my refund and have it back in less than 5 business days, most probably 2. She actually gave me her word, her literal word, which I recorded on my iPhone because I had a feeling she was telling me porkies.
And of course, 13 days later, they still have my $531, earning interest for a company that doesn’t even pay out on claims. I’ve spent all morning on the phone with them, never getting the same person twice. They just pass you around and I can hear them laughing in the background. They believe it quite funny to be putting people through this kind of stress. This company is a legal fraud and I will be passing all of my recordings and information to a journalist for a prominent Sydney-based news program that reports on scams. Who in Sydney would ever trust them again? And so they shouldn’t be trusted. Travel insurance should be trustworthy and there when you need them, not these fraudsters.

I paid $2000 for travel insurance but when I lost all of my possessions in the Jasper bushfires, I wasn’t entitled to anything? It’s actually disgusting that they can call themselves travel insurance. I called them the day that I found out about my house and I was told over the phone that yes I would be covered for the fires. I spent months going through everything I lost, finding receipts, combing through bank statements and for nothing.

This is our second policy for overseas travel with Covermore and the first time we have had to make a claim. We had planned nearly a month away in Canada and Alaska and a few weeks before our trip I seriously hurt my back and was deemed unfit to fly and we needed to cancel. We were so disappointed and then you worry, as we had heard many terrible stories about travel insurers finding all sorts of loop holes to get out of not paying and it being a long drawn out process but this was not our experience at all. The Covermore staff were so helpful when I rang multiple times to get an understanding of the process, what we needed to do and getting the information to us. The form was quite straightforward to complete. We received our outcome letter that they would cover our trip in full (within the 10 days they advised communication would be by) and then payment came through a few days later. The relief was immense. We are very grateful for it to be sorted so easily.

It was the simplest claim I had to do. Just had to supply all relevant documents and they just did the rest. We always use cover more and will continue every trip.

I had one of the most frustrating and potentially dangerous experiences with this insurer. I was preparing to trek to Everest Base Camp and needed insurance that covered emergency evacuation at high altitudes (up to 5,500m). During my initial call, the agent told me about an “adventure activity pack” that specifically covered this. I specifically asked her to add that in my insurance cover. But she made a mistake to add that in the policy.
So whilst I was trekking in Nepal,I got unwell and needed evacuation. The helicopter company reached out to cover more and they said that evacuation from above 5000m is not covered. So the only option I was left to was walk on the whole trek being sick.Their response time was even longer and they don’t have a free toll free number from overseas.
Now when I made the complaint, they are twisting the fact that I never added the adventure activity pack. This company is pretty dodgy, stay away from them.
Don’t book any insurance and save the hassle. It could have been a nightmare if my situation would have worsened.
This could have easily become a life-threatening situation due to their negligence. I strongly urge others to stay away from this company. Don’t risk your health or safety choose an insurer that’s reliable, transparent, and truly prepared for emergencies.

I have Cover-More Travel Insurance through my credit card. I travel overseas around 5 times a year for holidays, and always take a policy out. Recently, I had to make a claim for expenses incurred where I ended up in the hospital and had to take a helicopter flight when I was discharged, as well as unexpected hotel expenses. The claim process was very simple, and I got confirmation of my claim in about a week. Four days later, my claim was paid. I consider this great service.

CoverMore were awesome to deal. Our international travel policy with Adventure add on for trekking to Everest Base Camp was great value for money and gave us peace of mind for trekking to EBC. We did lodge a claim for cancelled flights which was successful and Ivana at CoverMore was awesome to deal with. Highly Recommend.

The claim process was fair and simple except it took longer (6 months) than I expected but finally it was settled reasonably

I was extremely happy with the service provided by Covermore insurance.
They were very quick with the reimbursement, and paid the full amount that we lost due to flight issues.
I would be happy to recommend them, and will continue to use them for our travels.

Very happy with our Cover-More policy. We have just recently returned from trekking to Everest Base Camp and the Gokyo Lakes in Nepal and I fell ill during the trek and missed the Gokyo Lakes but did make it to Base Camp. Lodged an online claim with Cover-More who promptly processed and approved my claim, money in the bank within a few days of approval, whole process took just over a week, no complaints from me. It helped that I had all the necessary documentation on the initial application.

Cover More customer here. They make it incredibly difficult to make policy changes once you are already overseas. It appears that email is not secure enough, there is no online chat and no toll free international number available. So you have to buy expensive IDD packages to call their Australian number. After literally an hour of transfers, verifications, and questioning, they will make an excuse why the change is not possible. I DO NOT recommend buying travel insurance with Cover More.

As if being stuck in cyclone alfred wasnt bad enough you gatta deal with covermore. Been dealing with covermore since march for cancelled flights. Stuck in qld for 4 days for a family of 4. They r trying to tell me im only entitled for meals of $100 for 4 ppl for 3
4 days under their Delayed flight heading. How is this fair or reasonable? Sent evidance of cancelled flight from airline but they still say it falls under a delay. Help? My sisters insurance has already settled her claim whom was with us also without bs.

Airline cancelled flight, after 4 hours of delays, and booked us on the same flight 24 hours later. As a result, 2 hotel bookings were missed and connecting flights had to be cancelled and rebooked to reach cruise port in time for boarding. On our return, I completed the online claims process with relevant documentation. Claim processed and paid promptly.

I have had a terrible experience with Zurich as an underwriter, and Cover More as an insurer, for my travel insurance. I will stay clear of these companies in the future and urge anyone to strongly consider using them for travel insurance. They have continued to refuse a claim, altering the reason for the decision. I believe this is another example of outrageous behaviour by an insurance company to not pay a claim that is entitled. I have now had to submit a complaint to AFCA in order to resolve this issue.

We had to cancel our 2 week trip to Samoa due to Cyclone Alfred. All of our accommodation was non refundable so l am so glad we had Covermore travel insurance. Our claim was processed quickly. Definitely recommend this cover and I will make sure we have this cover when I rebook our trip and any future trips.

I was covered by Cover-More via my Credit Card. It took several phone calls, emails and complaints to have it resolved. But it took 3 months, yes 3 whole months between claim and receiving the compensation.

Our holidays were recently cancelled due to Cyclone Alfred and Cover.More were wonderful in assisting us. We are very happy with their customr service and the outcome of their assistance. This is the second time in a decade we have had to claim on our annual policy and we just wouldn't be comfortable travelling without Cover.More on our team.
