It is unfortunate that I am resigning…

It is unfortunate that I am resigning from Crete Carrier Corporation under these circumstances. I feel that I was effectively pushed out of the company due to ongoing mistreatment by staff at the Marietta terminal. Over several months, I raised serious issues and safety concerns that were consistently ignored, leaving me no reasonable option but to resign.

During my employment, I experienced repeated harassment and unprofessional conduct. Zach charged me for tires that already had pre-existing issues, despite the fact that I am not an owner-operator. He also threatened me regularly and spoke to me in a disrespectful and inappropriate manner. This behavior escalated after I declined a load that I believed was unproductive. Following that incident, I was constantly harassed, repeatedly accused of doing things wrong, and subjected to excessive phone calls. This created a highly stressful work environment and made it unsafe for me to perform my duties as a commercial driver.

Yusuf repeatedly called me into the terminal to “address issues,” yet nothing was ever resolved. There were ongoing problems regarding my legally allowed 34-hour resets. My asset manager, Traviel, laughed at me when I stated that I was tired. I have this interaction recorded. I was also forced to sit through two consecutive 34-hour resets on multiple occasions simply because I ran out of hours. The explanation given was always that freight was “short,” despite my observation of other Crete drivers actively picking up loads.

I requested a necessary airline replacement on my tractor due to safety concerns, but the terminal rejected my request. I was also placed in multiple unsafe situations, all of which I have documented.

Ginger contacted me and instructed me to give my empty trailer to a white driver because he was on a “hot” load, implying that my load was less important. She has shown signs of racial bias on multiple occasions, particularly through comments made during phone conversations.

Jessica spoke to me in a disrespectful manner over the phone. I reported this incident through messages on the onboard tablet, but the matter was ignored until I raised it again in person. Tamara, the terminal manager, was never available to address any of my concerns. At no point did she take the time to meet with me or follow up on the issues I raised.

I participated in meeting after meeting in an effort to resolve these problems. I attempted to contact Bones from the safety department, but he was never available to hear my concerns. I reached out to JR, but there was no follow-up. I also contacted Human Resources, yet no corrective action was taken.

I began my career at Crete Carrier as an OTR driver and did not experience these issues during that time. I transitioned to Southeast Regional and dedicated operations out of the Marietta terminal due to changes in my household, as I have a baby at home and needed to be home more frequently. I deeply regret making that transition, as the treatment I experienced at the Marietta terminal was significantly different and unacceptable.

As a direct result of the stress, anxiety, and hostile work environment I endured at Crete Carrier, I began attending therapy. I have also filed a formal complaint with the FMCSA regarding these matters and possess records supporting my claims.

This resignation is not voluntary in nature, but the result of ongoing mistreatment, ignored safety concerns, and a failure by management to address serious issues. The actions and inaction of the Marietta terminal staff ultimately forced me to leave Crete Carrier Corporation.
