I’ve been using them for about 13…
I’ve been using them for about 13 years, but for the past two years, things have been going downhill and the server is constantly down. Instead of fixing the technical issues, they just sit on their phones. Today, my sites went down again. They’re heading toward disaster, and I’d rather leave before I go down with them. By the end of this month, I’m out.
Relentless Sales Calls & Emails
I've been with Crucial for a number of years and recently have decided not to renew some registered domains I wasn't using. They are relentless with an Indian call centre following up on payment and I can't cancel online because the domains are expired.... very annoying and a terrible way to do business. Transferring my hosting away from them now.
Our site was down for 3 days
Our site was down for 3 days. We were unable to access Cpanel to download a fresh Database so we could move to a new server. Our website was No.1 on google for over 4 months... we just went to page 3.. Thank you. We lost tens of thousands of dollars.

Support tickets take 4 days at the earliest, chat is a 2.5hour wait at the earliest. The chat always lies to you and says you are 1 minute away, then escalates to 2 minutes, then 10, then 2.5hours later the engineers that answer are not set up for success at all and often have been so wrong. I've been without a working site for 5 days. My customers sites are all down, and I'm still waiting for them to update the tickets but am not holding my breath

Submitting a ticket takes on average 3-4 days before a reply. This business is finished and is now clearly just another overseas call centres and supplier. Avoid like the plauge

Crucial's technical team have always been available over the past 12 months, just a phone call away, 24/7. They have always been willing and helpful with resolving issues that have arisen. The issues I speak of usually are not because of Crucial's products, but they are still willing to assist as best they can. For a customer with limited computer technical knowledge, having someone to contact and potentially resolve these issues or provide guidance is very reassuring. Thank you for being there.
Backup confirmed available, but lost due to support delays
I’m on a managed VPS service.
I urgently requested a database backup from Jan 7, which support confirmed multiple times was available. I was told I would be able to retrieve it.
Over the course of the day I spoke to support four times, with repeated 20–30 minute holds, and the request was passed between tickets without resolution. Despite clearly flagging urgency, escalation only occurred after the backup had aged out.
The backup now appears to be permanently unavailable.
This wasn’t a technical limitation - it was a process and escalation failure on a managed service.

Never Use this company
After many years of running my sewing business online, I’ve used a few different hosts — but my experience with Crucial has been by far the most disappointing.
In September 2025, their server went down for almost a full week. My website was offline during that time, which meant my students couldn’t access my sewing courses, and I lost valuable business and credibility. Communication was poor — vague updates, no clear timeline, and very little transparency about what was actually happening behind the scenes.
When everything finally came back online, the compensation I was offered was a single month’s refund ($67.56). That amount doesn’t even begin to cover the stress, lost income, and the hours of work I had to put in to try and manage around their downtime.
If you’re a small business owner who relies on your website being available 24/7, I would think carefully before choosing Crucial. Reliability and proper customer support should be a given with web hosting — and sadly, that hasn’t been my experience here.
Crucial - now the worst hosting provider in Australia?
Crucial used to be good.. now they are truly terrible. We were just victims of a 3 day outage - no website or email for 3 full days and unbelievably poor communication from Crucial.
How it took them so long to restore service is beyond comprehension and we will never know because they basically told customers NOTHING about it. Only communication was very sporadic updates via the Service Status page on their/Digital Pacific's website. Digital Pacific page shows they are still recovering servers today so some customers will have been down for 5 DAYS now! Crucial have just decided to remove the status updates from their site.
Crucial's customer service got worse when they were bought out 3 years ago, now they have plumbed new depths. Hard to imagine there is worse provider out there - we will be leaving after sticking with them for many years.
Crucial / Digital Pacific had a…
Crucial / Digital Pacific had a meltdown several days ago with 7 servers failing. Our website and email have been down for at least 3 days now and still counting. Its probably 4 because we think the problem started on Sunday. Crucial's customer communication and support is terrible, i.e pretty much non-existent. I have spoken to several other hosting providers today and nobody can fathom how a major hosting provider can have hosting services offline for 3 or 4 days.
We have been with Crucial for many years but will be moving elsewhere as soon as our site comes back online and we are able to migrate it.
Crucial / Digital Pacific were acquired in 2022 by Newfold Digital who have a reputation for cutting costs to the bone. The evidence of this is plain to see now. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I was very impressed with how quickly I was able to contact a human being especially when that person turned out to be friendly & knowledgeable and determined to get to the bottom of my problem regardless of how long it took. This is the way it should be. Well done Crucial!

I am the owner of a business that will never use Crucial's Hosting service ever again !!!!!
I am the owner of a business that has used Crucial (and its predecessors) for hosting of my Company's website for more than 20 years.
Early this year I informed them that I would not be renewing my arrangement with them as from its next renewal (25 March 2025).
Since I informed them of this decision I suddenly began experiencing problems with my inward emails - I was unable to receive enquiries from my customers - this started on 20 January 2025.
When I noticed that I had a problem with my emails I reached out to Crucial's Tech support team to identify the problem and to rectify it.
For Weeks nothing happened - I made repeated requests to Tech Support to fix my problem and it wasn't until today, when I threatened to take legal action against them for loss of income (no business since mid January), that the problem was fixed in less than 1/2 an hour.
Overall the service provided by Crucial was extremely poor and clearly they did not care and I feel their apathy in finding a solution to the email problem was in response to me not wanting them to host our website going forward.
I still intend to pursue an action against Crucial and I would ask business owners to consider this review and our experiences when choosing a Hosting Company. There are plenty of other high quality Hosters you can choose other than Crucial !!!
