Great step by step set up instructions

It has been so
easy. In the nicest possible way I hope I never have to use it but it is piece of mind

I saw this on Facebook, thought it was a good idea so ordered tag for my new puppy, paying £3 for P&P. When it came through the post I followed the instructions, however, I was shocked to find my iPhone notification pop up i had been charged £9. Not once had I pressed on a “pay now” or “sign up now” link. They clearly store your card details when you order the tag and charge you as soon as you fill in the online form. I find this kind of thing very shady. I may have signed up if they had made it more obvious what the monthly costs would be, etc, giving potential customers the option to sign up or not. I immediately cancelled but I’m still £9 out of pocket. A good idea but the company are lacking in transparency with tag being a subscription service with monthly fees. I certainly wouldn’t recommend.

BEWARE! You set up the QR code and have no choice on subscription.
Taking £9 straight away at a click of button! You can use the free basic subscription but at first you will have to pay the £9. Absolutely disgusting
I am not one to be scammed or coerced into paying. You have no choice. I emailed the company but they don't seem bothered. They just told me how to cancel my subscription. MAKE SURE YOU DO BEFORE THEY TAKE THE NEXT £9.
I have read some 1* reviews and all of them say the same.
Reading some other reviews, you have refunded the subscription. How did I not get a refund!
Absolute disgrace. They deliberately hide a £9 a month subscription 'opt in' during the endless and banal 'what colour is your dog' type questions when you set up the 'free' tag. Yes, I should have spotted it, but it is so well hidden and designed into the sign up process that it is really easy to miss it - and of course they already had your card details as you had to pay for the delivery of the 'free' tag. It is designed to mislead and fool you into paying the subscription. Expensive lesson learned. Complete scam and tag sent back. I want nothing to do with them.
After our dog accidentally broke his own crumb we requested a new one and received a personalised letter from Tom with an extra strong keyring for free !! It’s been brilliant and we’ve even been able to help neighbours locate their missing dogs from the smart notifications! Best thing I’ve ever bought for our pets !

My pup Calliopi lost her tag soon after I placed it on her collar, Crumb sent a replacement quickly. Thanks for caring about us.

Easy website to use. But not the correct name for my breed. They are NOT spaniels. Brittanys are hunter, pointer, retrievers. They are the smallest of the HPR group

A great experience setting up the data to keep my dog and if I did lose him to get him back. Our pets are a precious part of our family lives. This process is really good , early days but I already feel assured that Jack is safer than he was before . Highly recommended

Fraudulently take £9 and start a subscription you never even sign up to- DO NOT USE

I never upgraded to a premium account and did not enter any payment information on the website or app, only paid for the tags and postage. I am still been charged for a premium account.
Disgusting

I write this review on behalf of my elderly mother (complaint ref 358983) who has definitely been scammed by this company, I had to choose 1 star because I couldn't choose 0. My mother is extremely vulnerable and not in good health. She has been misled into thinking she was getting a FREE dog tag. She has then been conned into an ongoing monthly subscription that is impossible to cancel.
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

It is great that there is a company out there to go to quickly and with one tap an all alert will be sent out and less worrying that my dog is not lost forever thank you very much for the greatest of caring for our 4 legged friends that we all love so very much.

EDIT:
7/9/26. They did refund me after this review, but didn't refund me when I had initially asked via email.
They still claim that "a subscription was not automatically set up for you. We do have an optional paid subscription tier, but this is never set up without the express consent of our users." I was charged and when I went into their customer portal I had been signed up for premium, without my consent.
1. I ordered this "free" product thinking it had to be a free trial, and if I like it I would pay. I had no idea I'd automatically be signed up for a subscription without my permission. I like the whole idea of it, and if they weren't so scammy, I would pay. I signed up on a laptop, not through the app, not sure if app would have been a better experience but I don't need another app.
2. It automatically did a "snout id" of my leg, giving me no warning what it was doing, and no option at the time to redo it. Like FaceID on a phone.
3. It said it would send notifications if dog was ever lost to veterinarians within a five mile radius of my house, but my vet is outside that area. Again, no option to correct it during signup.
4. Then my only option after that was to click "Complete" and it charged me $11. I've seen other online comments with different prices - so pricing is somehow variable. I assume they kept my charge info from the $4.00 to ship the "free" item, even though I didn't authorize them to keep that. They did offer me a discount 2 days later when I clicked on cancel.
5. When I said I wanted to cancel, I wasn't given the option for a refund, just info on how to cancel so I won't be charged again.

I only chose 1 star because I couldn't choose 0. Very misleading to promise FREE tag. There was a £3 charge initially which I presumed was to cover p&p. I received no fewer that 11 emails pressurising to get the account set up, plus texts. Thee then followed a subscription payment which had not been mentioned and I had not authorised. Emails to them unanswered and texts not accepted. Spent hours trying to cancel which I eventually did through my bank. AVOID

Having decided to cancel my subscription I am absolutely frustrated by the rigmarole of getting out of the contract and the cost to do so. I was contacted by an unknown source to pay £9.99 to deactivate my contact that is disgraceful. They were polite and explained they’re part in the procedure but I am as an OAP disgusted at having to pay money to terminate my association when I can no longer find the money to bow out of the contract.
