Cubiio Laser Engraver (from muhertz via…

Cubiio Laser Engraver (from muhertz via Amazon). A great product that extends hobbyists ability to engrave and cut. For the price, a great way to test out your appetite for CAD and engraving.
Pros: Portable, with no X-Y rig needed; easy mobile interface; works off a mobile power pack as well as mains.
Cons: Only scribes up to 100x100mm area. Disappointed there aren't more pre-built patterns on the Cubiio website. The optional enclosure costs more than the laser unit.
Be Aware: For full functionality, you need to master a design package like Inkscape, plus have the tech to configure the GCode add-on for the Cubiio. Like all laser devices, you need a safe area to run it in. Two versions - one is free-standing unit and other is with a safe enclosure.
