Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the user experience, citing frequent UI changes and difficulty in toggling features. Customers also expressed strong negative opinions regarding the subscription models and pricing, noting unexpected price increases, removed features, and concerns about the company's business practices. The product itself was often described as unreliable, expensive, and prone to introducing errors, with some feeling it negatively impacted their work. Some people were dissatisfied with the artificial intelligence, finding its outputs inaccurate, repetitive, and sometimes even causing unintended data changes. Conversely, a small portion of people felt the product was incredible and had transformed their workflow, especially for code exploration and for those with limited scripting knowledge.

Cursor Team are Enterprise Criminals facing Felonies

Everyones complaints on their website forum is getting shadow banned because they are fraudsters and they downright know it. These are professional conmen who I hope will be facing criminal and civil punishment.

Just go look on their forum at the pricing megathread change to see all the evidence of fraud they commit. I did 4 million lines of code last month for less than $250 using Sonnet thinking 3.7 for most of it and then 4 second half of the month. I was about 10 days into a new billing cycle and I already hit my $250 limit in costs at less than 29% of the same usage. Most of the requests are getting charged MAX pricing, which is their gimped and gutted tool they charge 10x the cost plus a 20% markup. I had no idea I was getting charged an astronomical amount or that the pricing plan had changed without my consent until I casually checked my dashboard on the website. This is illegal under USA and EU laws. Criminal fraud of multiple types of offenses. They gave us No email, no warning in the app, nothing. I have submitted a formal complaint to multiple federal and state authorities, about 20+ which all require a response within 15-30 days. I cant wait to see these criminals behind bars.

started off great

started off great, but the app continues to remove previous milestones, and struggles on some extremely simple tasks and when I try to fix it they will say "ah I see the problem!" it will make some changes and the issue will ensue over and over again, each time cursor insists they now have the solution. Terrible customer service, they will block your account for no reason without question and then when you email they send you a basic email on how to fix this. learn how to code instead of use this terrible tool.

Deceptive pricing practices

I subscribed to Cursor's unlimited pro plan. However, just about 2 weeks after making the investment for their annual subscription, they changed the terms (without the ability to opt-out/refund) and capped the usage at $20/per month, instead of unlimited. Their email support also pretended to not understand the refund request which was crystal clear.

he new pricing models are a complete lie and nothing but a shameless money grab. At first, they advertised fair and affordable prices, but now they’re just ripping off their users without any warning! Features get removed, prices are doubled, and suddenly a single prompt with Claude 4 costs 2 credits – that’s pure greed and has nothing to do with customer service anymore.
I’m done with Cursor AI and switching to Windsurf. Cursor AI is dead to me. What a disappointment!

It was great to start with ...

It was great to start with, particularly on the free plan and little time thereafter, I subscribed to the PRO version and then noticed a considerable drop in performance. I look forward to the day, when the memory is longer lasting (in the same chat), as I've painfully had to investigate some significant errors only to find that some earlier achieved milestones had been removed or over written. It's odd, but you can almost tell how the chat will go after the initial chat, some days you get a really smart and helpful AI, other days you get what appears to be an apprentice or fill in. An irritation in the billing area - is how they don't notify you when a charge is made, arguably they do allow you to set a monthly limit but I would like to know before the month ends just how much is deducted each time. The only time I ever received an email was when the card was declined.

I will repeat this as many times as…

I will repeat this as many times as needed:
AI IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR THEORETICAL SKILLS ARE.
This neat program allows me to elevate from a SW engineer to a full on production manager, and it does that by leveraging my skills and knowledge, taking the work off my lazy a** coding and reading documentation and blasting me into production.
Yes, I'm losing coding skills.
BUT - I'm learning something else. Product management and the creative process using a fast, reliable platform. If you one tap the send button, without a notion or intent, don't expect it to succeed.

love Cursor

I love Cursor and not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. Yes sometimes it gets overloaded and sometimes gets stuck in bugfixing but the speed of my development has definitely multiplied x3 or so.

A PATHETIC JOKE OF “AI”

A PATHETIC JOKE OF “AI” — THE KING OF EMPTY PROMISES

Let me put this plainly: if this AI were a person, it’d be that coworker who talks big, does nothing, and somehow still gets invited to meetings. It’s not just bad — it’s offensively bad.

This system can’t finish anything. It promises you the stars, the moon, the whole damn universe — and delivers a damp, crumpled napkin with “sorry” scribbled on it. You’d get better results shouting your requests into a potato. At least the potato won’t pretend it understands.

They sell this as 100% functional, but here’s the truth:

100% functional? Try 100% dysfunctional.

Accurate results? Only if you count half-finished, half-correct garbage as “accurate.”

Smart assistant? More like a confused intern with amnesia.

This AI isn’t just disappointing — it’s actively harmful. It wastes your time, drains your energy, and then has the nerve to smile back at you with its polite, synthetic “let me help you” while serving up another helping of hot garbage.

Want to lose your money? Want to scream at your screen? Want to feel the soul-crushing weight of false hope? Congratulations — you’ve come to the right place.

If you’re looking for a tool that actually works, stay away from this overhyped, overpriced, underperforming disaster. Save yourself the heartbreak. This AI isn’t the future — it’s a cautionary tale.

In summary:
💥 Biggest scam of the decade.
💥 Useless, clueless, hopeless.
💥 A black hole for time, money, and patience.

Zero stars, and honestly, it owes me stars just for enduring its nonsense.

Terrible Service

They recently released a student plan, but my country wasn’t included. There’s no way to contact support, they are completely unresponsive. When you cancel a paid plan, they send an email asking if you want a refund, but it doesn’t matter what you reply, they never follow up or issue the refund. Their AI isn't bad, but once you run out of fast prompts, it slows to a crawl. In every way, Copilot is better.

The big issue is that they give you 500…

The big issue is that they give you 500 fast requests every month. But because the tool is failing to apply changes to code over and over, every new try counts a one request. Meaning you will be out of requests much sooner than expected. The idea of the tool is great, performance is very, very poor. Working with Cursor for 6 weeks.
