Terrible service and complete lack of transparency.
When you create a CV on their website, you are automatically subscribed to a paid membership, even though there is no clear warning about this. I had no idea I was entering into a subscription — until they sent me an invoice for three months of charges.
On top of that, their customer service is disrespectful and unprofessional. I told them multiple times that I do not speak Swedish and prefer to communicate in English. They apologized once, but then continued to reply in Swedish — even when I was clearly writing to them in English.
This whole experience felt like a scam. I do not recommend using CVmaker.se to anyone.

Be careful with their prescription…
Be careful with their prescription service. They will make it seem like you are paying for a one off CV but in fine print you will be signing up for a prescription that renews automatically for £19.99. Lots of people seem to have been caught out by this from reading online, I am usually careful with these things but even I did! They have refused any refund.

Misleading Charges & Lack of Transparency — Be Very Careful
My experience with CV Maker has been disappointing and confusing, especially regarding payments and account setup.
I was unknowingly charged multiple times, across what turned out to be two different accounts under my name—something I didn’t even realize until I contacted customer support. Charges were inconsistent and didn’t align with the stated subscription model. I expected a simple, one-time payment for downloading my CV, but instead, I ended up in an automatic subscription with unclear billing practices.
When I reached out for clarification and requested a refund, I was met with a standard response citing policy. While support did cancel the subscription after my request, they were unwilling to refund the unexpected charges—even though I clearly had no idea two accounts were active.
To be fair, CV Maker does explain some of this in their FAQ and Terms & Conditions. But I believe there's a better, more transparent way to present this. The streamlined interface—where you simply create a CV and make a small payment—makes it feel like a one-time service. CV Maker clearly understands that explicitly showing you’re entering a 7-day trial that leads to a $24.95/month subscription might scare people off. So instead, they hide this info in places most users won’t look unless they have a reason to. That’s not transparency—that’s intentional obscurity.
I’ve subscribed to other services before, but this is the only one where I genuinely had no idea I was agreeing to a recurring plan. That’s honestly a bit scary.
I would not recommend CV Maker unless they make serious improvements in transparency and customer communication. Until then, approach with caution.

Our service works only on a subscription basis, you pay for access to use our system to be able to edit or create multiple CVs at any time, use the job search engine, track your job applications, etc. This means that you do not pay for a single CV but for access to the service we provide regardless of how many times it is used.
