The worst customer experience of my life
I’ve given Cycleplan one star because you can’t choose zero!
Shocking experience. Terrible customer service.
I’ve had a policy with them before with no problems. This time was very different.
I was unable to finish the claim online as we’d been victim of a burglary about 6 months ago. I gave all of the details over the phone instead, including that no bikes were taken and that they were stored in a separate garage.
I was quoted the same price as the internet. The advisor then said they needed to speak to someone else. At no point was I given the impression that this would be a high risk policy having held home and car insurance for over 30 years and only this recent claim.
If it was to have been questionable in any way I wouldn’t have proceeded for a £48 a year policy. I was not informed until I was told the underwriter was declining to insure. No doubt this now has to be declared for all future insurance.
At no time were relevant details obtained regarding me, my property, security measures etc.
Absolutely shocking. Please, please think twice about using this company.

In reviewing an offer of 45% discount from Halfords in buying my new bike from them as a special offer, it was surprising that you would offer me 70% discount without the Halfords Special Offer. Amazing why Halfords cannot offer the same deal?

Paid out in record time, great service
Took out a plan to cover my bike from theft on the commute to work, ended up having a disaster in the Peaks causing accidental damage to carbon frame and other issues and fired a claim across expecting it to be rejected. To my surprise they accepted the claim and paid out within 2 weeks which exceeded my expectations! All phone calls have been pleasant and for the price I paid I will definitely be renewing.
