Please avoid this brand

Please avoid this brand. We bought our car from JJ Burke in Ballinrobe and we have had such issues with the Dacia Sandero which isn’t even two years old. Dacia has wiped their hands of it and told us it’s between us and the car dealers. As I don’t live in Mayo I was advised by the service team in JJ Burke to have my car checked when it broke down in a local Laois branch. The car has now broken down four times since so I contacted Ballinrobe for a refund or replacement as the consumer act allows and have been told it’s nothing to do with them as they didn’t repair it initially. So essentially they sold me a defunct car and now won’t take responsibility. They also have asked me to drive the faulty car to them with my 7 month old in it as they won’t pick it up. To put into context the fault it’s an engine one. Shocking behaviour. So please avoid this brand and dealership especially if you don’t live in Mayo. Terrible after-sales and a con of a warranty.

After care shocking and non existent

Bought a brand new 261 bigster from kearys belgard Rd, less then 3 months the drivers side window motor breaks and stuck in the open position. I phoned kearys on a Thursday and they tried to say I could bring the car in on tuesday to get looked at. I asked would they be liable if something happened over the weekend and of course they agreed to take the car friday morning and have a courtesy car ready for me. Grand no issues, got a phone call on the tuesday saying they've ordered parts and will take 7-10 days that I've to come and pick up my car and give back the courtesy car as they've sold it to a customer. I asked was my car fixed he said no but they've jammed the window shut and its secured. I said I was not prepared to take back my broken car so they agreed to send me out another one. Few days past and I get another phone call telling that they've sold the 2nd courtesy car they just gave me and they will have to swap out again. All this is me having to go back and forth with insurance and paying admin fees all this time while at this stage they've had my car 2 weeks now. Trying to get any update from the service team there is beyond a joke and I've 19 phone calls to prove it. I feel really sorry from the girls at reception, all they kept doing was apologising on there behalf. I eventually got a phone call after 17 days telling me I could be up to another 2 weeks waiting. I'm so annoyed with Dacia and I phoned dacia Ireland who said they would look into this for me yesterday. I phoned them back today and got there's nothing they can do and the part will take 7-10 working days. Just be aware if thinking of buying a dacia that this is the level of service.

2019 Duster 65k kilometers on the clock…

2019 Duster 65k kilometers on the clock .This is my second duster. Third visit to the garage in the last two years. But the bad part is the first visit it needed a sensor which had to be ordered from France, one and a half weeks off the road. This time it need another sensor but there is not one in France and they cant give a date for delivery to Ireland. Hopefully before the end of November which will mean two and a half months off the the road for something which cost about 200euro. Spare parts is a joke I will not be buying another one.
Think carefully before you buy one.

Shocked & Disappointed by Dacia: lack of reciprocated loyalty

Had major difficulty with a Duster with ONLY 22,500 on the odometer. Out of warantee I agree, but the part in question usually lasts 100,000- 150,000 + in most vehicles and brands. They requested info, info, and more info. Then declined any help or intervention based on info provided close to our initial contact - kept us hanging on even though decision already obviously made. Would not recognise detailed & exemplary service history as not EVERY SERVICE from a Dacia main dealer but other maindealer involved. We have been very loyal to Renault / Dacia brand in the past. NO LONGER !, as not reciprocated. Many years of loyalty [ & future sales to multi car family ] lost by a single decision. A vehicle is only as good as its support structure and customer care service. Both lacking with Dacia here. Not too convincing & very disappointed - by both Dacia and the Dacia dealer involved in dragging things out and being evasive with us. Expected better service and more upfront dealings tbh. A bargain brand, BUT hope and pray that nothing goes wrong - because you will pay handsomely for it if it does. We have been badly caught out. A cheap fix for Dacia has caused us so much heartache and expense and inconvenience. We should have heeded other reviewers with similar experiences. An expensive lesson.....

Just don’t buy one

Just don’t buy one. Cannot get replacement parts from dealership.
Someone ran into the back of car 2 months ago, some damage done to the back, need new bumper and back light, cannot get the parts . Parts were ordered 7 weeks ago now, so driving around with bashed in back for 7 weeks and still no sign of parts.
After 1 month, I rang dealership who tell me that Dacia parts are very slow to get, and they could do nothing.
Rang Dacia - kept on hold for 25 minutes and they said they would ring back- they didn’t at that time.
Rang the insurance company with claim number and asked what could be done, in fairness the Insurance Co eventually got Dacia to call me back - they then told me they would look into it .
A week later I receive a text from Dacia saying - they are awaiting an ETA on my replacement part, and are sorry for any inconvenience.
So, as of now, still waiting, and vowing never to buy one again.

Now the 28/09/2023 - I received another generic text message from Dacia which was a repeat of the text they sent me two weeks prior.

Terrible customer experience

We bought a used 2018 dacia sandero last September. We had a issue when the starter motor went in the car. The car was covered by a 3rd party warranty so when we contacted them the car was sent to a mechanic and the issue was fixed, but the mechanic noticed that the ignition switch was gone also so we went through the process of fixing this. That was mid May. I'm writing this review 6 weeks later as the car is still sat in the mechanics. After multiple attempts to communicate with the mechanic, warranty company and dacia themselves nobody can provide us with a date to when the part will eventually reach the mechanic and get us back on the road. 6 weeks and counting is extremely long time to be without transport especially when they cant give us any idea where the part is or how much longer it will be. My suggestion would be to steer clear of dacia and there poor customer service

Dealership was terrible but Dacia got it sorted

Had a very bad experience with a Dacia Dealer who lost their Dacia Dealership. The Warranty (extended warranty) work was no honored by them (the dealer) but I raised the issue with Dacia customer support. They were very good and covered 70% of the cost of the repair despite the warranty extension only being with the dealer and not Dacia themselves. Think I was mainly dealing with the UK based customer service staff but I have to say they were very reasonable and communicated well. Restored my faith in Dacia despite the Dublin based dealer who I won't buying from again. That dealer is no longer a Dacia Dealer anyway so should not be a problem.
