We found this little gem when we booked…

We found this little gem when we booked the hotel in Lincoln , the hotel is handy for everything , and spotlessly clean , but the restaurant is second to none , it was amazing , the food is to die for , the portions are huge , but the best thing about it was the waiters and waitresses, it was that good when we had our evening meal we decided to try breakfast , the waiters and waitress both in the evening and breakfast are amazing , so helpful very polite and nothing is too much trouble , we could not go without compliments to the manager . Well done for the fantastic service you provide. If anyone gets the chance give this place a go , even if you don’t stay at the hotel , come in to the restaurant, you won’t be disappointed, I know we will definitely be eating here again whilst we are here

Great!

We have been coming to Damons for about 30 years.
Shocked to read some of the reviews as we have never had a bad experience. Obviously times have changed over 30 years and costs have gone up but honestly think the price is no more expensive than most places these days.
Food always great, ribs just as good as they've always been and no where else compares for ribs in our opinion.
We've been at lunch, afternoon and evening over time and always great service, polite and attentive staff.

A “hellish” experience.

A “hellish” experience.
Food awful, place cold, this is 2026, Damons opened in 1988 and is stuck in a time warp. Better places exist in Lincoln and you would be wise to find them and avoid this one.

Fined for parking in their carpark whilst eating there

Ate at the restaurant, food was ok, but received a fine for parking in the restaraunt car park without a permit. Maybe you have to ask for one when you go into the restaurant but this was never pointed out to us and if there are signs they are not obvious and we saw none. Appealed the fine because we ate there but the appeal was rejected. The restaurant doesn't care. This is disgraceful. Wish we hadn't tipped the waiter £10 now, should have saved the money towards the fine.

Bad management

Visited this restaurant several times, always satisfied with the food and waitress service, what really let it down for us this time was the floor manager/supervisor, he was walking round constantly, and every time he passed our table he had the face of distain, looking everyone over like we were something he’d scraped off his shoe, made us feel very unwelcome, couldn’t finish our meal and leave quick enough, the gent certainly shouldn’t be in hospitality if he hates it that much, certainly wont be going back

Overhyped, Overpriced & Over Capacity

We visited Damon’s this evening for my partners birthday dinner. The minute you enter the building you can no longer hear yourself think. The sheer volume of people in there makes it completely impossible to have a relaxed and enjoyable time. We were a table of only 2 and were seated next to a family with a toddler who couldn’t sit still and kept coming over to our side and touching our table. This of course isn’t the restaurants fault. I asked the manager if we could move tables, I apologised profusely as it was clear how busy the place was, he found us another table which was appreciated although he didn’t seem happy about it. We were seated but couldn’t have a conversation due to the noise volume of the overwhelming amount of other diners. Our drinks order was taken, £5 for a Pepsi was absolutely absurd. Shortly after our food order was taken. Within 10 minutes the food arrived. It was barely warm. The chips were clearly a bulk bag of frozen oven chips, they were hard and cold. The ribs were shockingly terrible. We have both had better frozen ones from the supermarket. Due to the fact we had already requested a move of table which clearly frustrated the manager we didn’t feel comfortable informing the staff that the food was barely warm, so we made the best of it. Looking back we should have complained, but hey, we’re British and too polite for our own good. Since leaving the restaurant I have felt unwell and can’t explain how much I wish we’d have gone somewhere else. Somewhere which doesn’t pack as many people as possible in, somewhere that doesn’t rush you like cattle in order to get the next set of diners at your table and somewhere that actually knows how to provide edible and enjoyable food.
We will never return and I highly encourage others not to waste your money.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Save your stomach from the agony .
Absolutely terrible food, by far one of the worst I’ve ever been to.
unnecessary behaviour from the Manager who was Extremely rude when we asked for the bill to leave he asked why we never finished our meal upon answering he was very insulting and brought my wife to tears. We have Never ever felt so uncomfortable as we was leaving the man on the front door spoke so rudely under his breath about me and my wife. He abruptly told us to leave and never come back,
rude and disrespectful is the best way of describing the manager and his staff.

Price hike!!

Food was really good, BUT,
We were not allowed to use the kids eat free menu alongside a free birthday meal, which isn't what the menu says.... so for 2x people and a 4 year old child, with just 2x happy hour cocktails you're looking at almost £50! Would have been less than £30 a few years ago. Mental..

Damons Lincoln, "O" dear.....

Not been to Damons in years so thought that I would revisit with my Daughter.

The 1 star rating is for the staff only, customer service was good however that's were the compliments stop.

Damons signature dish is the ribs, now that's scary as they were awful, just warm, average size, clearly frozen and most definitely microwaved, it would be fair to say that I was shocked however my Daughter and I had a good laugh about them.

Regretful we went with it however I'm now waiting for the aftermath, time spent on the toilet, Damons might have their revenge for my 1 star rating 😆.

The bill came and my Daughter and I just sat there laughing, amazed that we had the worst dining experience and paid £70 for the pleasure.

So in Costa now washing the taste away with a coffee.

It's been an hour now and all good so far, however it's a waiting game.

Avoid it's overpriced, overhyped, the food is awful and frozen packed.

I've had better ribs from ASDA's and Iceland.

Shocking.

Disappointed

The food has really gone downhill everything is was an awful duplicate and cheaper version of what everything use to be. I nearly chocked on the onion loaf, which they use to be famous for was like string. The food use to be amazing here and been visiting for about 32 years on and off, not been for quite a few years though and will not be going again.
You use to get a nice warm granary roll whilst waiting to take your order but now just a cheap white small bread too ( what is the point) the ribs what they are famous where not tender, just chewy, buffalo wings was not crispy and like they had just been dipped in some hot sauce. Cocktails watered down, not what they use to be. Staff could not be bothered and like they was trying to rush us. All in all one of the worse meals ever out ever. Very over priced for the quality of the food. Definitely will not be visiting again.

Went to eat Sunday tea time

Went to eat Sunday tea time. Husband had pork which was tough and he couldn’t eat it. The peas we got were over done. Waitress wanted us to pass empty plates over to her in the isle. Very rushed. Coleslaw and bread looked like it had been sat all day. Our buffalo wings starter had been sat waiting along time were very dry. All the waitress had to say about the over cooked pork was that she didn’t know about how it should be cooked as she was vegetarian. Very disappointed. Used to love going for special occasions, shall not be visiting again. The place has gone down hill in our estimation and it’s not a cheap meal.

SALT SALT & more SALT…Never Again.

How have they managed to stay open? Tried for first time…and the last! All I can say is SALT! yes that’s it…salt on everything, then more salt. We left bloated with that sick feeling..Burgers were tough and, yes you guessed it too salty. Chips were from frozen! The battered fine onions they dress the burgers with, were an addition to the salt! I just cannot justify £54 for 2 coffees, one coke, 1/4lb & 1/2lb burgers and 1 rack with sides of dry chips, already coated in SALT. Awful. They have 2 Stars because our waiter was extremely nice and very helpful, sadly it won’t bring us back…ever! Not until the OWNER changes his arrogance & attitude….it seems he is the ONLY one who insists on all the SALT, & he will not listen to his customers…

Not good

Very menacing doorman blocks the entrance and treats possible visitors with contempt. Have been here many times but now the service matches the food - terrible! This place has seriously fallen behind other places to eat locally.

Good food and friendly staff

Never had a bad experience here and always look forward to coming - the food is delicious and the staff are lovely. We do miss the bread rolls and the birthday cakes, but appreciate business’s must adapt with the times so understandable that they aren’t done anymore 🙂

Misleading.....

Went today big sign outside offering combo for £14.95! Bill came was more when we asked the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders. Also when paying the bill asked if we would want any change?!? Found it very rude and the food was nothing to shout about! Used to be great now its average at best should of known when the restaurant was totally empty. We will never go again.

Fantastic service and delicious food

Fantastic service and delicious food. My husbands dish arrived wrong (allergies), BUT the waitress immediately rectified this so well done and thank you. Sadly, the portions are smaller and the prices have increased but I guess that’s to be expected in the current climate.

You no longer receive warm bread rolls, and the coleslaw is not a patch on the original recipe.

One of my pet hates is being rushed out of restaurants, especially when they have lots of empty tables. Good if you want a quick/nice meal but if you’re after a nice relaxing evening out, go elsewhere.
