Judged to pay

My wife has previously been a customer here and had her treatments done with the owner, Daniel, so we expected a professional standard of service.

During her recent visit, she was asked by a staff member whether she could afford the service before anything else. This left her feeling uncomfortable and judged, which is completely unacceptable behaviour towards any customer.

When we tried to address the matter privately and respectfully with the owner, instead of discussing it like a professional business, we were simply blocked and ignored.

Blocking customers rather than handling complaints shows a serious lack of accountability and customer care.

As a result, we have formally reported this matter to Trading Standards and the appropriate consumer protection channels.

We believe customers deserve to be treated with respect and concerns should be handled properly, not dismissed.

Very disappointing experience overall.

Happy to provide proofs of call, message etc.

Longest Serving Customer for…Daniel Field

I have been going to Daniel Field for at least 35 years and constantly get comments about the excellent condition of my long hair, which is testament to Daniel. I have only used his colour for the last 20 years and I regularly have a few sunkissed highlights but otherwise just a trim every 2-3 months and leave my hair alone as much as possible. His stuff is good and it works.

Fabulous styling cream

Just tried Daniel's fabulous styling cream. It not only works wonders on my hair which is dry and prone to frizz but it doesn't irritate my skin either. Thumbs up, a great product! And thumbs up to Laura, Anna and the lovely team at Daniel Field!

Daniel Field - Big-Hearted Hairdresser with Alchemical Gifts...

Daniel is a wonderful, big-hearted hairdresser with an alchemical ability to create great hair products for people with health issues and sensitivities. I discovered him a few years back, when Lyme Disease left me reactive to the normal hair dye chemicals - it was so great to learn that I could still colour my hair after all! I then kept up the colour at home, using Daniel’s amazing Water Colour products.

Last week I made the 2-hour journey to Daniel’s New Barnet salon, feeling a sudden yen for my original brunette colour after experimenting with blonde foils. When I hesitated as to the shade, Daniel suggested I go with my original choice, offering to stay late and change it if it wasn’t quite right. Deal. In fact, the bleach in my hair intensified the shade - but it was now glossy and in great condition, and I had no intention of holding Daniel to his ‘deal’. But no, closing time though it was, Daniel insisted - and as if by magic, a heap of foils suddenly materialised on my head. Not the merest hint that this was a pain - in fact, I was cheerfully offered coffee and other drinks while the foils developed. Daniel must have stayed on a good hour past closing time, refusing to charge a penny more - and the end result was fabulous! If you get the opportunity to have a hair appointment with Daniel - go for it! And if, like me, your hair is being affected by any health issue - from Lyme Disease to cancer - Daniel is definitely your man! I certainly can’t imagine taking a 2-hour journey for any other hairdresser!

I cannot recommend Daniel and team enough! I had a couple of consultation with Daniel, who was extremely helpful to identify the best product and colour for me. I also visited the salon and Zack was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much!!

Zack was absolutely amazing!

Zack was absolutely amazing helping my mum who is terminally ill with breast cancer and was very nervous about seeing a hairdresser to feel a little better in herself transforming her hair regrowth which was all different lengths and very thin into a lovely layered shaped cut. Exactly what she wanted in no time at all and a great customer experience for her thanks to Zack’s excellent people skills. I couldn’t recommend him or the salon enough. Everyone was so helpful and polite. Thank you so much.

After years of using off the shelf…

After years of using off the shelf colours containing peroxide and/or ammonia, I decided to use Daniel field water colours which I have been doing for quite a few years now and which I find have great grey coverage without the chemicals and wouldn't use anything else. I recently decided to have a consultation with Daniel himself as I was looking to change my colour/look - what a lovely experience! Daniel spent time listening to me to understand me and what I was looking to achieve and gave great advice and guidance, taking time to explain how the products work etc. I was already a Daniel Field colour advocate and now I am a Daniel Field advocate.

Reluctant to disclose ingredients

perborate, which when you add the water to it to mix, releases peroxide! So your hair is being coloured using peroxide!"

Daniel Field :
Refuses to disclose his ingredients on the new white powder.

Perhaps the first paragraph explains why.

Hides behind "organic, "

Uses paraffin and colours on the 80s where he was thought you be organic

Update on his response

Daniel still has not listed the ",white, powder" ingredients specifically
He has to respond in a way that makes others look bad as he is seen by the public here.
Since the 80s he boasted about how bad his ingredients were especially paraffin liquidum and others and he has had these in his products. That speaks for itself. And its still being sold today.

FIRSTLY…FOREVER GRATEFUL🙏🏼

FIRSTLY…FOREVER GRATEFUL🙏🏼
I developed a hair dye allergy a year ago, the obvious reaction, swollen throat, burnt eyelids & scalp..! My regular hairdresser along with all local hairdressers refused to touch me as I was understandably a liability! I was left devastated.. my hair is my pride and joy as I have always loved getting it done and made me feel good .. a dear friend recommended seeing Mr Daniel field, as she highly recommended him for looking after a client of hers that was a cancer patient.. I got in touch, had a zoom consultation, daniel sent me testers, to which I was fine with..
I happily went along to the salon with complete confidence, Daniel took time explaining my current hair status, asked me what finished look I was aiming for, and I left all my trust in him..
he took time to analyse my shades and focus on the colour as the Key part of the visit.. and what a success!
I was left feeling quite emotional, it took me a bit of time to take it in! I was BACK! My hair, my normal me! No reaction, no burning, no nothing … highlights/low lights! Perfect! I sincerely thank u Daniel… we are blessed to have u… thank u….!!!
