Daniel's is a fantastic traditional family store, offering a rich range of modern goods, and services. It is like a mini "Harrods", with several restaurants and offering everything from furnishings (free home delivery), white goods, electrical, fashion items, shoes.........basically it is a one stop store, for everyone - with excellent customer service.

In addition, the friendly owner Peter Daniel can also often be found on the shop floor, and is always open to a friendly chat. In my case, me and my wife were invited to tea and cake.

The local Princes in their youth used to frequent Daniels, and surely, what is good for them - will be good for you.

It is a local treasure, and should be cherished.

Went to the EYE CANDY BROW AND LASH BAR at 5:10pm.
None was there. Asked around for advice and told me the lady was already gone. The service closes at 5:30pm….
What an easy life !!!!

Company Not to be Trusted - Refused to collect Defective Product

Bought a Tempur Mattress online – New condition - £999

Despite agreeing that it would be held and not shipped whilst on holiday it was shipped anyway

The box surrounding the mattress arrived in a right state, ripped to pieces and no support so clearly been bent in the middle like a banana

On opening cover faulty, rippled all over due to being bent and not stored or shipped correctly.

Took full pictures and explained concerns to Daniel Store and subsequently requested it be collected followed by a full refund.

Despite several emails requesting this, they refuse to arrange collection FOC, wanting to charge me £69 for collection of a defective mattress

Rather than do the decent thing and also the legally right thing, they just kept offering me money off to keep it – trying to discount it by nearly £300, but in the same email advising that there was nothing wrong with it and it was just a good will gesture. Also lying why they no longer sell Tempur, clearly there are still plenty of retailers selling Tempur, as well as Tempur selling direct.

Completely laughable (if it was funny) that a retailer can behave in such way and try to say it is not defective whilst also trying to offer a discount of nearly a 1/3 of the value of the mattress

Advised that due to refusal and their attempt to charge me £69 collection that I would have no choice but to raise a dispute with my credit card company, despite which they have still not agreed to sort this out.

This store has a lovely, rather old fashioned feel to it, selling medium to high end fashion and accessories but that's where it begins and ends. They will take your money with a smile, but the customer service is zero. If there is an issue with an item, you will spit feathers before anything will be done. The staff are appallingly unhelpful as are the management. My husband bought a laptop bag for £350 which broke after a week of use. When he took it back he was told they would have to send it away to be analysed by the manufacturer!! Seriously! Eventually they reluctantly agreed to refund him, but that was after many arguments and much unnecessary angst. This company are stuck in the dark ages where customers have no rights. They need to get in line with the rest of the retail industry if they want to survive. My advice is to give this store a miss and buy from other department stores instead, where no questions are asked and the customer is always right.

Shocking customer service. My daughter bought 2 pairs of socks from Daniel for a Christmas. I attempted to return them- no receipt but intact, clearly not worn and still with the original price tags. After speaking to several of the team and the manager I was advised that had she read the small print on the back of the receipt it specifies that underwear cannot be returned. In a world where high street retailers are struggling this seem like a rather short sighted approach.

I would be happy to discuss this with you further if you provide a contact (although spending my Sunday discussing it with your retail team didn't achieve much).

Took on a big landscaping job for me and you would expect better from a Brett premier installer. Couldn't get things square, level or finished properly and rather than take responsibility just blamed all other trades which had nothing to do with his poor workmanship. It took multiple returns by Brett landscaping supervising re-work which was still not completed satisfactorily. If you want a good finish look elsewhere.
