The absolute worst service ever

The absolute worst service ever. Do not do under any circumstances! Order was not delivered even though took payment and now no way to contact them to see what has happened. Never experienced anything like this.

Extremely poor delivery service

Extremely poor delivery service. Order stated 2-4 business days for delivery. It’s been 6 business days and no idea when the consignment is to be delivered. I rang Dan Murphy’s and was on hold for 28mins and the customer service person had no idea where my delivery was. She said she’d get back to me as the goods are sitting in a depot with their delivery company. Very frustrating! Temu does 100% better on notifications and delivery.

Customer Service Fail

sent me the wrong wine, the wrong vintage - an inferior wine from same winery. Had a similar label, but completely different wine. also sent me 11 instead of 12 bottles. cannot talk to a human as apparently, they don't do phones in 2026! What The? What a complete fail. Still waiting for response.

Absolute joke of a delivery system

Absolute joke of a delivery system. Dan Murphy’s completely ruins surprise gifts.
Your website logic makes zero sense. When sending a gift, the system forces you to enter the recipient's details, but then completely cuts the sender out of the loop.
Zero notifications: The sender gets no tracking updates, no delivery confirmation, and no failure alerts.
The surprise is ruined: If it is a surprise birthday gift, why on earth would the recipient answer a call or text from an unknown delivery number?
Total lack of accountability: When the delivery inevitably fails because the recipient didn't answer a random call, Dan Murphy's leaves the sender completely in the dark. You take our money and provide zero status updates.
FIX YOUR WEBSITE LOGIC. Update your system so the person paying for the order actually receives the tracking and delivery failure notifications.

10/10 experience in store

10/10 went in store not entirely sure what I was looking for and left happier than ever. I was helped by this lovely gentleman Marcus who knew heaps about all kinds of drinks and was super friendly, always have heaps of options and cheap too

Click and collect service

Click and collect service
Never once has this facility proved quicker for me. It's easier to walk in , buy it and walk out
Instead, you have to wait while they summon who appears like they have been pulled off there tea break .
After being told there's no order for you ( twice in one week) one of those times, that I'd already collected it, they disappeared again with the order.
They need to overhaul this system or give up the service completely, a poor reflection on this business

Don’t do what they say they’ll do

I ordered online and disappointingly the order took three days to be delivered when I’m only a five minute drive from Dan Murphy’s. I can live with that part but when they give me a window of 12:30-4:30 for delivery and tell me my ID needs to be checked upon delivery but deliver at 9:40am when I am not home, that part is less easy to live with. So now my alcohol is available for anyone to just take from the front of my house as I planned to be home according to the delivery window they quoted me. There’s no way to email Dan Murphy’s to express dissatisfaction so I’ve been forced to do it publicly. Hopefully my order is still at the front of my house when I get home.

Unimpressed

Generally my DM experience is good. This evening the 2 Ladies there (Alphington. 6:15pm, 14/04/26) seemed annoyed that I'd interrupted their conversation. The idea that they'd make eye contact or even respond to my questions seemed completely beneath them as they were engaged in a far more important interaction between themselves. As a business owner I'd be horrified if my staff showed such a complete lack of understanding of 'Customer Service'.- JB

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

It has to be said that this company need urgent attention to customer service standards and delivery procedure! At the moment both are non existent.
I ordered my sister and her husband champagne and wine for their wedding anniversary. Neither were delivered - apparently the driver ran out of time!! I then was told that the wine wasn’t even in stock! How are you allowing stock to be purchased when you don’t even have it! What was meant to be a surprise turned into one enormous disappointment both for my sister and for me. I won’t be using Dan Murphy again - there is absolutely no accountability for the poor service standards and systems that need a complete overhaul! I am still awaiting a reply to my email - I won’t hold thy breath!

Incorrect Item Received …

Ordered a bottle of Billiecart Vintage as a gift- Recipient received a bottle of Billiecart non-vintage however as this was a gift did not know they had received the incorrect item. When I was sent a photo with a thank you, I saw it was the incorrect item. Apparently they had sold out of the Billiecart Vintage and the store thought it was fine to substitute. How about a refund Dan?

As a long time Dan Murphy customer

As a long time Dan Murphy customer , I have built a Wish List of favourite purchases. I use it constantly to reorder.
Then my Wish List just disappeared.
After several attempts to have it restored, I was told the IT department could restore it.
In other words, they want me to believe they don't do regular backups.
More likely the just couldn't be bothered and found it easier to lie to me.
Disgusting behaviour which shows their contempt for their so called "valued" customers.

Redesign the website.

I shop online several times each week. Without the slightest doubt Dan Murphy’s website is the worst I have seen. Each time I try to make an order something else goes wrong.
Today,I pressed the PayPal button to check out and the circle was still going around an hour later.
Their BOT never gives meaningful assistance and just gets on your nerves.

Every time i go with the delivery option…

Every time i go with the delivery option there is a problem! Are these drivers getting paid to not deliver our orders? The Sherpa / uber drivers should NOT be getting paid when they fail to deliver the order!!
Dan Murphy's needs to address this chronic issue!!

Price check

Was served, price was wrong at check out. Was asked to step aside to wait for price check , so he could keep serving other customers. Staff member had attitude, my opinion only. Wasn't impressed with his body language , seemed moody & mistrustful .But visited the shop twice during the week, other team members cheerful & helpful & polite. Not a pleasant situation for me.

Don’t believe their “specials” — this feels like false advertising.
I saw Wild Turkey 101 Gift Pack advertised online for $56, showing as available at North Ryde. I tried calling the North Ryde store multiple times, but the call kept automatically disconnecting. After several attempts, I gave up and decided to drive there.
On my way from Camden, I stopped at another Dan Murphy’s store carnes hill to ask if they had the Wild Turkey 101 gift pack. I politely asked the store manager, and she abruptly responded, “No, we don’t have it.” When I mentioned it was showing available at North Ryde, she aggressively said, “I can’t help you, you have to go there or call them.” There was no attempt to assist, check stock, or provide customer service — just attitude.
I then tried calling customer service using the online number and again kept getting cut off.
So after work, in peak hour traffic, I drove from Camden to North Ryde because I wanted to purchase two dozen bottles, which would have saved me approximately $18 per bottle.
When I arrived at North Ryde, I spoke to a friendly lady who introduced herself as the manager. However, once I asked about buying two dozen of the advertised Wild Turkey 101 gift packs, her tone changed. She said the product was out of stock. I showed her the online advertisement on my phone, and she responded that it had been out of stock for a long time.
If it has been out of stock “for a long time,” why is it still being advertised as available?
After I pointed this out, she made a call and eventually offered me six standard bottles (not gift packs) at the advertised price, which I accepted.
By the time I returned to my car, the online advertisement had been removed.
What’s disappointing is that a multi-billion dollar company like Dan Murphy’s would rather argue technicalities and inconvenience a customer than simply acknowledge their mistake and honour the advertised deal properly. This was about $432 worth of product — hardly a loss for a company of that size, but a significant inconvenience for a loyal customer who drove across Sydney in peak hour traffic based on their advertisement.

Shocking service

Shocking service. Didn’t deliver my order. Tracking link on email worked , and showed that order was dispatched . This tracking information didn’t change for 2 weeks so contacted them on 3 occasions . They couldn’t tell me where my order was. Then went back a week later to check status of order, and they had removed tracking all together. Absolutely shocking service, Don't know if will ever receive whisky I paid for.

Lower than a 1 star!

Lower than a 1 star! Every time I place an online order it is never delivered in time. Even if I request same day delivery or request a certain day, Dan's can never meet my request. We often have in office events, and we need to get our drinks chilling in the fridge before guests arrive. Dans was good a couple years ago but now it's all just shit. Not sure what you've changed but it would be great if you could provide better customer service. Even the online chat is bad. I had 2 real people abandon my chat and one even sent me back to the bot. WTH Do Better Dan!
