Bought our holiday home at Aberconway three years ago. Right from the start Rick and his staff were friendly, helpful, nothing was too much for them. The site and its proximity to the beach is... See more

We stayed at a Darwin escapes holiday site in Mullion Cornwall called “Mullion Cove Coastal Retreat” from May into June 2026, this place is vile, I cannot put into words how BAD this place is, filth is an understatement!!! If I could attach pictures I would have to help people looking to book, you would be SHOCKED !!! please do your homework and read reviews before parting with hundreds of pounds.
Wonderful site quiet and friendly easy access to A30 and Newquay beaches.
Staff super to deal with and always ready to help.Clubhouse is great with super food.
All our family visit as often as we can.
Here now at Cheddar woods only had a 3 day break for my friends birthday and we was put in a lodge with a broken hot tub! Main reason for the weekend! No communication to what’s happening. Just told you will get a refund for that day and Rubbish tv signal also! Just something else to go wrong.
Please rethink about booking anywhere with Darwin escapes.!!!! This was supposed to be a peaceful retreat to help you unwind!!.
Few issues along the way but on the friday we got back to the site and thought we were at butlins. There was lots of children running screaming, music and noise from bar area , could clearly hear 'down in one , down in one' from the bar. We couldnt sit outside our treehouse or use the hot tub let alone use the bar area. The noise progressively got louder through the evening with music blaring, shouting screaming til 1130.
We complained staff didnt really care and we were told that a booking had been made for a rugby group (poss 150-200 of them). I have no issue with the rugby group they were allowed to book it. Other guests should have been pre warned of this large group and had the option to cancel.it was obvious this wouldnt be a hol as advertised with a large group like this on site. This continued the next evening. The noise was ridiculous. Couldnt sit outside or use the hot tub again. !!Then the tv an internet went down again for the second evening, I put tissue in my ears but could still hear the thumping of music even with tv on volume 80.
We didnt use the 'private beach' as is the rugby group we all there.
Sat eve we decided enough was enough and we made arrangements to leave a day earlier. The receptionists didnt care.
Apparently large bookings are often taken by Darwin so just because it may say your resort is a spa, retreat or relaxing it could be taken over by a very large group.Because this booking was allowed it intentionally completley ruined our holiday. We were offered 25% refund which shows how little they care about their guests because alot more than 25%of our holiday was ruined (taking into account other issues aswell).
We are taking this far as it needs to go on the grounds that this was was advertised as a peaceful retreat but this was not what we got and the fact they would have known a very large group on what was supposed to be a retreat would have caused issues breaches their contract .
They are not interested in guests having a nice holiday only in the money.
Please dont be fooled by Darwin Escapes, it may not be what the advert describes!!!!
I cant seem to send the videos I have to show just how loud the noise was. I will try to send via another site . I believe anyone who sees it will be shocked this was allowed at a retreat!
Stayed at Tilford Woods Farnham for 7 months whilst refurbished house and it was a fantastic experience. The team are just outstanding in being so kind and helpful and always willing to assist with anything we needed. Adam is a stand for us - so good at helping us and being a cheerful and positive person!! Thank you to everyone !
We have been here for years and I have to say I won’t be returning now . It’s a lovely area but the lodge we was allocated for £469 with a hot tub was filthy , the housekeeping needs up up their game & the lodges need a lot of tlc . No protector on mattress , decking looked like it has never been cleaned , dog wee stains on carpets / dog hairs on sofa , stains on dining chairs . We have actually left our holiday early due to the disappointment. The kitchen g
Cooker extractor was hanging off the ceiling , the fridge door doesn’t open full due to cooker in the way . No shelf on fridge door for your milk due to broken , dust all over the walls & ceilings , shower has obviously leaked in the past and wood placed to bodge it up , windows are filthy . Hotub lid needs a good clean as full of mould reception staff unhelpful & rude

I am due to pick my keys up Saturday and I cannot wait. Recommended and bought within 24 hours! Hermione is genuinely terrific and ensures everything is spot on. The management team need to give her a pay rise as she is the cog in this wheel that makes it work well.
The beach is unreal and we are already booked in the restaurant with our friends who have bought on here in March for the BH weekend.

Just returned from a 3-night stay at Lodge No 38 (Winford) at Woodside Bay. (Booked via Hoseasons) Lodge was surrounded by trees and very quiet, despite being beside the road to the lodges at the end of the cul de sac!
Very well laid out inside with large bedroom equipped with a 6’ bed with bathing facilities (double sinks, shower and double ended whirlpool bath) leading off.
The living area was comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen area to the opposite side. Downside was lack of instructions for the cooker!
A large set of windows with sliding door led out to a large balcony/outside sitting area.
The site was carefully designed in that lodges were spaced throughout the wooded area such that you did not feel that you were being overlooked by other holiday makers in their lodges.
No welcome pack other than a few tea bags and little plastic pots of milk, so our advice is to bring your own coffee, tea and milk with you! There is a Tesco Express in nearby Wooten Bridge.
A brilliant place for a couple to completely unwind for a few days!

Fabulous 4 days at Beach Cove. The setting is perfect and so was the accommodation. Damien at Reception was so friendly and super friendly - a wonderful ambassador. My dog and I loved it so much that this morning I booked to come back in September 😊

Emailing back and forth about my reservation/payment took weeks to hear a reply. Would have loved quicker email communication.

Stumbled across Aberconwy Resort and Spa by accident and had bought a brand new lodge the following week.
Hermoine was brilliant very capable and helpful with the whole process and we can’t wait to spend our summers down here with our family and grandchildren.
Definately an investment in our future

We looked at several places in the area and Aberconwy was by far the best.
But what sealed the deal was working with Hermione and Rick. No pressure sales, just a fantastic walk around the property, lots of great units available, and easy negotiation on a price that matched our budget. The views are spectacular and the entire community is friendly with lots to do nearby. We’ve been there a year now and wouldn’t change a thing.

We have just booked our holiday so we can only review the booking processs - this was fairly straightforward and we received confirmation very quickly.

We are on our second season at Aberconwy resort and spa. The location and facilities are second to none in the area. I’ve got to say we wish we had made the move years ago. 🏖️🍺😎

A lovely quiet site, the facilities in the lodge are excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. We had a fantastic relaxing week and have already booked again for later in the year. I highly recommend the site near Poole.
